Brilliant. Everyone else I've seen clips the thread after the pull thru. Clipping it first ensures that it is buried. Love it. Also a nice demo of a Power Wrapper. My son and I bought a used Pac Bay a couple of years ago. We finally attended the Mud Hole Rod Building Class last weekend and are looking forward to building some more rods. Do you have a recommendation of a blank for use catching Specks and Reds with plastics? I was skeptical that a good rod was needed for Specks and Reds. Then one day I used my son's high end rod with braid to fish a weir. I became a believer. I could feel everything including the light tap of flounder near the rocks.
Hello. I just found your channel and I’m glad that I did. I have really enjoyed the few videos that I have watched and I’m looking forward to watching the rest. I just watched the chevron video and I must say it was great. However I came away a little confused as to how and achieve the final result. It must have to do with which side of the thread you made the passes on. Could you please explain. Again. Thanks for taking the time to help people like myself. I have not actually built a rod yet. I’m just practicing my thread control first and the chevron is something I definitely want to practice. Thanks Bill
I have a thread Carriage just like the Batson apts thread Carriage that you have in this video. Unfortunately for me it did not come with any instructions on how to thread it adjust the tension properly etc etc could you please make a video on how to load the thread into this thread carriage and how the tension should be adjusted for applications. Thank you in advance and again as always I thoroughly enjoy your videos they're extremely informative
That is a great idea. I have not made a video in months due to getting the time to do it. I will make time to get back to it. This will be my first video.
Love your videos...very informative! If I could make one tiny suggestion: when you are doing a video turn the volume down/off from the radio or television in the background because it is distracting from your excellent commentary. Thanks again for sharing!
Thanks for watch and thank you for the feedback. I did learn to do voiceovers after this video. I have a big family and it is hard to get a place to do videos where there is no sound.
@@FishingLouisiana2020 I hear ya brother.!! Nice work and again thanks for the help. I built several rods back in the day and now I'm building a custom deep-drop rod and needed to brush up on the basics. Your stuff is awesome. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@FishingLouisiana2020 Question for you my good man. If you ever build large, offshore rods, do you double-wrap all of the guides or do you single-wrap them? I'm building a large deep-drop rod and have seen different opinions. I would value yours....
Verry good broder
I love to use a under wrap
Great job. Makes you appreciate a custom rod more when you see how much intricate work goes into them.
You are on the list brother. I have Becca's rod going on the rack now. Have ordered a bunch of parts and will get to you soon.
@@FishingLouisiana2020 you take your time. Our lakes will be froze till April.
Half done with my 1st rod build. This will be very helpful when I put the guides on. Great video!
Awesome, thank you!

@@FishingLouisiana2020 that's wonderful. Please send me a notice when the video is ready the name. Again thank you again for your videos
How do you go about measuring the start and end points for your underwraps?

@@jankensmith7935 Thank you for those kind words. I would double wrap those rods for sure and do a under wrap too.
Do you put color preserver on the under wrap or anything before putting guide on?
I put color preserver on after the guide is on.
@@FishingLouisiana2020 Thank you.
what size of thread do you like to use for your underwraps? A,B,C ?
I like to use size b thread for the under wrap. Thanks for watching
