Exactly like when i was younger and before i has my phone when we went to like theme parks and all my granny and mum and dad would all be like if you get lost STAY THERE we will find you. I thought it was the same for everyone but clearly not.
Yeah I wouldn’t do that as an adult though I don’t trust other adults to find me. Most people watch and keep track of their kids, they expect other adults to take care of themselves Wouldn’t expect them to even look for me before dark really.
Panic is a hell of a drug. You think you're a few steps away from the path, then you think "well, it must just be more steps than I thought," and before long you're just walking aimlessly, then that walking turns to running and shouting, and you've gotten yourself into a survival situation you can't get yourself out of. It's best to stay put, true, but it's hard to restrain the natural tendency to freak out when you've just been thrown into a place you never expected to be in.
If I’m going into the forest alone before I go in, I will look at the sun and see which way it’s going so I know what’s the best way to go back to the camp if my campus east and I go there and I see the sun at west I’ll go to the opposite of where the sun is
I mean I thankfully grew up in the country and already know not to get lost in the woods but if I do get lost in the woods I stay put you don't move especially if somebody knows that you went into the woods
This is why they tell children to stay put if they are lost. Surprised an adult didn't know this.
