Thanks. One point. No. 62 is a coffin, not a sarcophagus. "sarcophagus" in English, as well as the original Greek, refers to a STONE container for the dead.

I really want archaeologist to discover a tomb that belongs to a Pharaoh we’re it wasn’t rushed or belonged to someone else, this tomb is amazing, imagine what treasures, art and wonders that would be there.

I believe it was Tut's successor who put him in this small tomb and took Tut's wife for himself thus guaranteeing royal legitimacy and kept Tut's original tomb for himself. The size of the sarcophagus was meant for a larger burial space, perhaps this small tomb also escaped continual pillage due to its small size .

Too bad most of this is replicas. You can find virtual tours of the actual artifacts from The Egyptian museum where they are housed.

ive always been fascinated with this stuff, but im wondering. Isnt it an insult to these people for disturbing their resting place, pretty much stealing their items, pillaging them and destroying what was obviously the final plans for their afterlife/religion?
If i were to go dig up your gramma, display her in a museum, and strip her of her deahtly belongings, people would have a problem with that.

Honestly, if we left them as is, they likely would've been stolen anyways. Egyptian tombs were robbed repeatedly in antiquity, and if anything was left it would likely be robbed or destroyed in modern day as well. At least this way the artifacts are preserved and we can learn so much more about them and who they belonged to than just leaving them to be spirited away to some black market or private collection.
