My second time to watch this brilliant and most amazing story I've ever seen. The first time was back many years ago and I've seen it again on my recommendation and I waste no time to rewatch it. This made my day. Thank you for reminding me that love comes in no particular time. Kudos everyone...🥰
I too was on outcast in high school. Not really a nerd just didn't fit into any of the popular cliques. But in my senior year I was lucky enough to beat out the beautiful blonde 'popular girl' to win our city pageant and was crowned MISS SO-AND-SO. I was short and not thin and brunette. Not the IN LOOK that was considered beautiful back then. Although I enjoyed my reign doing outside of school appearances when in school 5 days a week I was tortured by the 'mean girls' and bullied EVERY day. But I survived and eventually came to forgiveness thus freeing me of resentments. This was way back in 1964. Things have a way of working out for good. Geeks and nerds do have lives AFTER high school that usually are more fulfilling and more successful than the so called beautiful and popular kids. We have a deeper development of our inner selves (authentic personalities) and we age gracefully unafraid of losing our youthful looks.
It made my soul spare for her!!! 😭 😭 Each person’s experience is different and it takes going to Jesus himself to cry out to him to heal deep soul wounds like these that traumatized the main character. Not drugs, booze, money, beauty, or vitamins “t” “h” and c” can take away this deep a hurt. Only Jesus!!! Our deciding to forgive those who tried to destroy our spirit is a must that God himself requires. Only God can give a person the ability to forgive even the most vile acts of evil that have been done to us. My prayer is this...” help me, Lord Jesus to forgive so and so right now by the power of your Holy Spirit and heal me of the deep wounds that were inflicted on me, in Jesus name. Lord, please forgive and cleanse me from all sin by the blood of your son, Jesus. Give me a heart that receives the love of the truth and make me hunger and thirst for your righteousness. In Jesus name, amen.
Thank you for uploading this movie. This movie has a special place in my heart. Brings a lot of wonderful memories of 1999, when I was 25. One of those sweet movies of an unforgettable decade.
Yes! I was in high school in ‘99! Best decade of my life! My senior year in 2001 was awesome! The 90’s & early 2000’s will always be special to me. This movie always reminded me of a dance in junior high where the most popular 9th grader did ask me to dance with him! Not a prank, he was a total gentleman who just wanted to make my night very special & he did! I can’t even remember his name now! lol! Andy something. I was geeky 7th grader, & he had a beautiful date, & even she was nice enough to let him dance with me! It was one slow dance, but a slow dance that I’ll never forget! There are some really good people in the world.
I feel for her when she was in HS. I was bullied and teased since I was in 3rd grade. Stuttering problem and weight problem. When I was in high school it got worse. Even at 30 years old today, I always stay home and never like going to town. I run into some people that used to bully me and just looking at them really made me emotional but I always hold it in til I get in the car. I would cry and flashbacks of my teen years came back. 2 weeks ago I ran into a girl that used to bully me on the bus every morning and after school. She works at US cellular and told me her son has a stuttering problem. I made a remark, if anyone bullied her son like how she bullied me about my speech problem. She stayed quiet.
I was bullied, too😔 One of my favorite 90s movies that I can relate too. I was made fun of by my clothes and girls were jealous because the teachers adored me. That’s why I was always to myself back then, knowing people were cruel
@@jadedixon2348 same here. We were strong to not let it get to us. Some people just bully to make themselves look and feel better when it hurts the other party. Sad it still happens but now they feel suicide is the way out 😔
I'm 19 years old, never been kissed, no boyfriend since birth and still waiting till marriage. This movie was 2 years older than me,I just found it right now and I actually love it! 90's chic lit movies are the best! Clueless and this movie are both amazing! Beautiful Ending! 😍❤️
Take your time hun there is no rush...I am old enough to be your mom...Tell the truth I rushed into marriage and got married at 19..I did not even know who I was just yet..You are young take your time.. Long story short I married a guy 10 years older then me ...I devoiced him after years of abuse...I have an awesome husband now..

Writing stories for a radio program back in the day when I was a radio announcer in the 90's was my thing. Only my audiences didn't know that I tend to write embarrassing stories about myself, of course who in the right mind would ever admit that! But.hey, this movie is amazing! The plot of writing about yourself in the newspaper and turning it into a reality show is one hell of a genius idea!
@@sheilagatpolintan I'm from the Philippines. I have a radio counselling program back in 1999, "Heart 2 Heart Talk" aired daily at DZAI 92.1 FM Urdaneta City in the Northern province of Pangasinan. I read letters coming from the listeners. Other times when no mail arrives I tend to write stories, some of which coming from my own experiences and give tips and advises based on what worked for me, LoL!
My all time favorite movie... Watch this literally 200 times in Cinema Disc and now in youtube and still love watching it over and over and over again.
Hey!! I saw it in the theaters at 14 & now I'm 37 sobbing my eyes out & laughing more than I did as a youth. I just got ghosted by my dream guy who was actual mashup of the 2 love interests, it just struck me 😢😂👑 🤡
It amazes me that Drew is good at and quite willing to play a dufus character in a movie. She is a real person. She is not a haughty vain movie star. She is a good woman who makes money acting. Respect you Drew! Thanks for your awesome movies!
this movie hit me differently when i first watched it because i was a loser girl who had never been kissed haha. that moment when mr coulson just appeared in the stadium and kissed her without a word - i still think it's the most romantic scene in a romantic comedy movie ever.
Thanks for uploading this precious movie! Drew Barrymore is my favorite actress, I do love her acting. Of all films she's made, I think this is the one she gave all herself out. She is so cute, lovely, funny and smart. I literally love everything she does in this film. Thanks again!!
Have you ever watched "riding in car with boys" ? That movie I suggest to watch it to everyone I know cause it was so nice. The music is lovely, the story is well narrated and there is drama enough to make you cry. I love this movie. Love Drew's movies. She is such a good actress.
@@jennyali2890 sure , it's my favorite, too!! I probably have watched that movie more than 10 times, actually I've watched every film she made 😊 I feel the same as you do about it, the story, music and all the other actors in it. It's so nice to share the thought, thanks !!
@nancykim734 I agree with you! She's so adorable! When she ties her hair up, I think her ponytail is so cute! She really is a lovely actress/talk show host! She is pretty funny. Her giggles make me say, "Aww!" And she's very smart! Honestly, she's a lot smarter than I am!
This movie I can quote word for word. It simply is my adolescence and my go to movie whenever I need to escape. This may be cliche, but I really related with the main character and so desperately wanted a do over in high school. But now at the age of 37…I can say this Josie Grossie now happily married to her “Billy or Guy” is about to go to her 20th high school reunion this year…wish me luck! Also the soundtrack to this movie is amaze balls ❤
Awwww even the credits.... LOVE. I just watched this for the first time at 25 years old. I have never had a high school sweetheart or a prom date. I was 19 when I had my first kiss but I was not in love. I love who I'm with now. He treats me so well. I wouldn't mind a forever story with him.
Every time I watch it gives me the feels. The same parts I have to rewind and watch again and again- when she tells them who she is at the prom and then the ending....Every. Time.
This is definitley one of my favorite movies. It take me back to when I was in my teenager years watching this movie relating to some of the scenes. This would be a forever classic.
I’m sure most of the views are me. I’ve had this movie on loop like a kid with their favorite movie. Hands down one of THE best Drew Barrymore movies I have ever seen
This is my nth time watching this film (1st was in theater). One of the best 90's movies. It speaks of friendship, of courage by being yourself, of love.
I absolutely adore Drew Barrymore in anything she ever does especially her role as Gertie in Steven Spielberg's 1982 movie "ET" (Extra Terrestrial) at the ripe young age of 7 years old when she was captivating audiences by the millions even back then. She has proved herself over and over time and time again to be a force to be reckoned with. I will love her forever. "NEVER KISSED" is just simply another one of her many masterpieces with an enlightening storyline from beginning to end.
That teacher riding in the Ferris wheel with her and talking about his girlfriend-😳. And flirting with her thinking she is 17. He would be considered a total creeper.
I always loved this movie when I was a teen. Watching it in my 30s... it's a story about a teacher having feelings for someone he believes is 17... that's kind of ruined it for me
Right??? Rewatching this as I’m older has me feeling very odd. And her brother dating a high school girl? This was one of my favorite movies but you think a lot differently when you’re older.
I've just watched this for the first time at 36, and although I see the intention is making a cute romantic movie, I've found it so creepy. There's a part, after she blows her cover, where the teacher blames her of misleading him and says he can't see her the same way... Ahem. Honestly, so very difficult to find the whole thing sweet.
I didn't mind watching this classic movie twice which is rare for me. Drew's beautiful soul shines through the whole length of the movie. And doesn't that teacher look like an improved version of Luke Perry?
This is my first time watching this movie and I can relate to this movie in my high school days and brings back memories of my high school days lol and I think that this movie in today’s generation would show teens back in the 90s what they look like and there was no social media at all. This movie is so 90s and it is a part of the 90s pop culture and era of 90s high school. Great movie and it is fun to watch!!!
Hey you’re not the only one. I finished watching it for the first time few days ago. I’m 37 and wonder how did I miss watching this beautiful Drew Barrymore movie.
Disappointed at first that she didn't win out of her own merit but her brother's help, it was good to seeher be strong and courageous at the end, saving her friend at the risk cost of her career, and telling the truth with no security as to what would happen from it. Then protect her love and risk her job for that too, - and finally exposing herself and being vulnerable. AND she helped her brothrt keep his place on the game.
The energy that was around at that time has returned in 2023! This is because everyone that graduated highschool from 1996 to 2004 had children and their children are now 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and the mid 2000s babies who are 12 through 16 as well! These kids are just like their parents! Those kids that were born from the late 70s to the mid 80s! I call them attitude babies! Unfortunately they were a wounded generation!
My fave romantic comedy movie of all time. I can't count how many times I've watched it. Always giving me such happy vibes every time watching it. Runner ups: Maid in Manhattan Made of honor Bride wars
So many of my friends were kind hearted and smart as I felt very average in many ways. However, regret I don't have since I had to work throughout my early life after school. it helped me get better jobs due to work experience and later a love interest came. Like the song from the "Beach Boys" says, "Don't Worry Baby, Everything Will Turn Out Right." It did, so Stay Positive!
he was the prettiest. it shows how in love josie was with the teacher - because she didn't get swayed by that "you rocked my world" confession in that prom dance moment (cos i WOULD). and he really gave every girl that dream "popular guy ask normal girl out for prom" butterfly in the stomach feelings urgh.
No.3 on my bucket list is to watch this movie WITHOUT sobbing my heart out at the end. Never managed it yet (and "Don't Worry Baby" just happens to be my favourite Beach Boys song).
Holy shit the thumnail on this made me think this was fake! But then I saw the views and I clicked.. Glad I did! Amazing quality. No ads?! And no weird closeups or background music. Thank you!!! My fiance just passed away from kidney failure and I love this movie.. Needing to distract myself and this is making me feel better.. Cant thank you enough
I really loved this movie, I just turned 20 and I rewatched this again and I still loved it and cheered for that kiss in the end. However, I've noticed that there were certain parts here that just other people get uncomfortable or dislike for. First, the teacher-student attraction. Okay, I'm not saying this just because I have a crush on Mr. Coulson, but because - Josie is different from the students in his class. How so? She's mature for the age she's claiming to be and very deep, she talks with so much passion and she loves literature. That teacher, Mr. Coulson shares a same passion for literature. Apparently, because of those things, Josie just stands out in his eyes, he sees Josie as a mature, passionate woman with a great potential in literature. There was no way that Mr. Coulson would fall in love with one of his "real" students as they were not on his par unlike Josie who has a very compatible personality to him. Second, he had a girlfriend on the first part. They were going out for 5 years, he can't commit and he ended up parting ways with it. To be honest, rewatching this as a 20 year old, this had only been my biggest concern. However if you will study their relationship and Mr. Coulson's personality, I don't they think that they are compatible with one another. And putting Josie on the picture, unknowingly, Mr. Coulson must have realized that he and his girlfriend are not fit with each other. Therefore, they broke up. It's not that I am promoting people to broke up just because of the personal differences, I believe they should work on it, but there were just relationships that ended like that. And sometimes, people who dated for 5 years and more broke apart, but those who met for a very little time ended up getting married, having kids and staying together for their lifetime. Third, the ferris wheel scene, Mr. Coulson with his mind having troubles with the fight with his soon to be ex-girlfriend, found that this amazing person unfortunately his student was riding the ferris wheel alone. He must have thought that both of them are lonely or what and he shared a conversation with him. But surely he knows that he's liking her. Fourth, that adele penguin sex education scene. I think, that's it - that's where he was ultimately swooned by her. She was just so mature and passionate. But on the next parts, he tried to helped her for her college, he must've thought that it's not he likes her as a woman but that he's just amazed by her passion and intelligence. But as the movie moves forward, you see that they are getting more personal and comfortable with one another as they paint for the school prom. I mean, those two are soulmates, if those two meet in a different occasion with Josie's confidence level in shape, Mr. Coulson will not have a hard time getting attracted to Josie and it would not be viewed as teacher-student relationship and pedophilia or what. Lastly, the scene where he said that he couldn't look at her the same way anymore does not mean that he likes her being seventeen! Goodness! Who in their right minds like that especially if he's a teacher? But it was that, he trusted her and got comfortable with her but then it turned out that while he's attracted to her, she just used him for a story and everything that she did and said were all an act.
She is not "mature", she is not "not like other girls", she is 16. Or at least posing as a 16 year old, which is all he needed to know. Liking literature isn't an exception to this rule. The man is an English teacher, there's always at least one person who likes literature in an English class, so the fact that Josie likes books isn't "different" or "new" or "sets her apart". It is never okay to be attracted to a minor. There shouldn't be a discussion about this.
@@marinagemoftheseas but you can’t help who you fall for in the end and plus get over it it’s a movie and in the movie he didn’t go about it in a creepy way and never did anything wrong until the end where he knew she was older so technically he did nothing wrong and it’s not a bad thing to be attracted to a student that’s something you can’t help it’s what the person does about it that makes the difference
Watched it when it first shown in cinema, bought dvd, downloaded anything you name it. But i never grown tired of watching. Its like always first time. Crunching Cringe worthy. Back to back with Ever After.
I just love this movie, everytime I watch it I love it even more . still such a positively wonderful movie and I saw it when it first came out 25 years ago I can't even believe it's been this long. I will always love Drew.
I've watched this movie so many times over the years. I always see something new and think, hey...that was awesome they thought of that. The character development and background stuff going on in scenes is so detailed. I just noticed in the lunchroom scene at the beginning, that Octavia Spencers' character has 3 "Lean Cuisines" for lunch. So freaking relatable and funny. My favourite scene, I think, is when she meets the "table full of Rastafari" and gets on stage.
I always wanted to watch this movie it taught me that anybody can fall in love for the first time at any age 😍 I knew Josie was going to be kissed by her teacher the whole time the ending made me want to cry ❤❤❤❤

I haven't been able to watch that scene in years, I always look away. Same with Mean Girls when Cady eats her lunch in the toilet.
That scene always makes me so damn mad. That guy should have gotten his ass kicked
It was a very good decade!!! Loved it!!
@@ladyscarfaceangel4616 same i was 19 in 1999 the 90s were special and i have alot of good memories

I can’t believe that I am only 2 years old when this movie aired. This is one of the best romantic-comedy films!
I'm 18 y/o when i first watched it. Now I'm 40 y/o and still watching it. The ending still makes me cry. I really love Drew and Michael Vartan

She also produced this film, so she had a say in the way it went.
Love her for the same reasons.
She is no different than all the other actors who push the same agenda
This kind of movies makes me remember my old self... The one who believes in love. The idea of love. The pureness of love. Bittersweet
this movie hit me differently when i first watched it because i was a loser girl who had never been kissed haha.
that moment when mr coulson just appeared in the stadium and kissed her without a word - i still think it's the most romantic scene in a romantic comedy movie ever.
I agree.
Especially because he was attracted to his student who he thought was 17 😂
hes a predator
Thanks for uploading this precious movie! Drew Barrymore is my favorite actress, I do love her acting. Of all films she's made, I think this is the one she gave all herself out. She is so cute, lovely, funny and smart. I literally love everything she does in this film. Thanks again!!
Have you ever watched "riding in car with boys" ? That movie I suggest to watch it to everyone I know cause it was so nice. The music is lovely, the story is well narrated and there is drama enough to make you cry. I love this movie. Love Drew's movies. She is such a good actress.

Can't count how many times I've watched the end today. The ending is so perfect!! The soundtrack brings tears to my eyes everytime 😭😭 pure romance 🥺❤
This is one of those movies that just get better. Like the one with Ashley Judd and Hugh Jackman: Someone Like You.
Love it.
Yes, totally agree about that one!

I’m a huge romcom girl. And I LOVE drew Barrymore. Surprisingly I’ve never seen this movie, watching it for the first time now 😌
I always loved this movie when I was a teen.
I’m 35 now and this is still one of my favorite movies❤
I didn't mind watching this classic movie twice which is rare for me.
Drew's beautiful soul shines through the whole length of the movie.

This movie is so 90s and it is a part of the 90s pop culture and era of 90s high school. Great movie and it is fun to watch!!!

I've watched this movie so many times, but just realized that James Franco played one of Guy's friends. He was always there in the background. Wow.
Josie's friend in the cafeteria scene is Octavia Spencer, who would win an Oscar a decade later.

This had me rolling 😂😂💀so we not gonna talk about having a crush on guy or how cute he was
he was the prettiest. it shows how in love josie was with the teacher - because she didn't get swayed by that "you rocked my world" confession in that prom dance moment (cos i WOULD).
and he really gave every girl that dream "popular guy ask normal girl out for prom" butterfly in the stomach feelings urgh.
No.3 on my bucket list is to watch this movie WITHOUT sobbing my heart out at the end. Never managed it yet (and "Don't Worry Baby" just happens to be my favourite Beach Boys song).

THIS. Thank you for putting it into words, that s exactly how it actually is.
True
same like me rewatch again n again everyday....
Ugh the end is so perfect. The Beach Boys playing.. perfect.
