I failed a PR attempt last week and this is exactly why. I noticed my elbows instantly flared as I began to push, felt like I lost all tightness and leverage, then the bar tilted left like it was the first time I benched. This is perfect- can't wait to take another shot. Thanks..

I used this tip from IG as well a few weeks back to make sure I stay tight on taking the bar.

Hi, should we be thinking about spreading the bar throughout the movement of the exercise, meaning going up *AND* down, or just focus on spreading the bar during the descent of the barbell to the chest? Also, do these cues apply to dumbbell presses also? Thank you.

So, I rotate my elbows inward to flex my lats while I take off the weight, but then I slightly release the inward rotation while pushing up my chest. This method enables me at the weight of 170lbs to lift 365lbs and pump 225lb for 24 reps. My goal for this year is to finally get 405lbs. However, my butt very slightly still comes off the bench when I leg drive. After 28-years of lifting, I'm still struggling to get the feet placement. I know that everything has to be close to perfect to get four plates, any suggestions?

Do you think pressing to your ribcage helps improve bench

All depends on the person. I assume you mean taking a lower touch point
