Thank you, Sir!!! When I saw this video title I grabbed my G2 and followed right along. For some reason I always had a little trouble judging how far the slide was pulled the other way. This worked PERFECTLY THE FIRST TIME! Much appreciated!
No hate, this is a great tutorial. But I honestly do this all the time with my taurus. I didn’t know there were other ways to take apart the pistol. Haha. Either way, that’s one of the main reasons why I love this gun. My 1911 is a pain in the ass to put back together, thanks to the spring giving me a wrestling match. This Taurus G2 is a walk in the park with cleaning and reassembling. Great video again. 👍🏻
I guess I have a bad habit of just placing my hand over the barrel & pushing while using my thumb & middle finger to operate the take down tabs. I notice how good your barrel looks, it almost appears to be stainless compared to the tinifer/black. Anyways. On my G3c, After putting 3-500 rounds threw it, I am getting rub marks/wear marks on the shaft of the barrel & the visible slide section from contact. It operates perfectly though & I've NEVER had a single issue with it period! Along with the three factory 12 round mags, I've used pro mag 32 round mags, & will be trying their 50 round drum hopefully today. I've had good luck with pro-mag in my Taurus G3c! I want to upgrade to the stainless barrel & spring assembly eventually! I paid $279.00 pre-tax on my G3c & for the money, I am very pleased!
First I have to say thank you for putting this video out here for us. I have to call you out on one thing tho. Early in the video when you were showing the gun was clear you said there wasnt a clip in it. Without sounding like a ass, did you mean to say "theres no magazine"? I know I'm making mountains out of mole hills but it's a pep peeve for me.
I am a big ww2 history buff and out of all the probably 1000 hours of videos I have watched they always call them clips. I dare you to find a clip that calls it a mag. My father was in ww2 and he taught me to call it clips also. If I was you I would give up on that because your beating a dead horse it seems. Here is more about it. Why is it not called clip? The M1 Garand uses clips to load rounds into an internal magazine. When the war was over, veterans came back to the states calling anything that loaded rounds into a firearm a “clip.” This misnomer stuck, and many people now call a magazine a clip and vice-versa. ... clip can be confused.
@@sewskatesaccording to google, a clip loads a magazine which is a holding area for ammunition. So thats why a clip goes into a magazine in the M1 Grand. I dont mind beating a dead horse, I'm disabled so I got plenty of time to waste. I get what your saying about how it's just something that people do but they are still technically wrong. On a side note, I tried your method of field strip, because I have messed fingers I have to things a little different and your way of taking the slide is definitely easier on me so I have to give credit where it's due.
@@sewskates My wife has the G2 and the trigger is too easy to pull,so I gave her a lcp2 .380 to carry. She loves it. I have an old 111G2 and they are nice guns, but they are home defense guns. I carry the G26. Love that pistol.
The only real experience I have ever had field stripping is with the Springfield Armory XDm-40 and the Springfield Armory XDs 9mm. I just recently bought the PT111 and it just perplexes me as to why a manufacturer would design a gun that would require you to pull the trigger to release the slide. Is this a common design in other guns ? or is that exclusive to the Taurus pistols ?
My Millennium Pro breaks down like a P89 Ruger. It has the release pin style. You can see it in my video. Other than that they are almost the same inside if you are just doing a quick clean.
Running up and down stairs will do that. I am in my 60's always working on projects in a hurry!. I have very bad back problems that cause everything I do to take me 3 times longer to do than most people. It is just life and I do the best I can. Sorry if it some times shows in the videos I make. Thanks for the concern. I am working on SKS video right now, so stay tuned for that.
@@sewskates hey I'm just glad you're doing good man just having a little fun with ya, in all seriousness though I am a big fan of your vids and I especially love the G2 models, they are very nice 👍
Cool, thanks. The M1 Garand uses clips to load rounds into an internal magazine. When the war was over, veterans came back to the states calling anything that loaded rounds into a firearm a “clip.” This misnomer stuck, and many people now call a magazine a clip and vice-versa.
no kidding aside i take my g2 apart field strip fill sink with hot water add dawn dishwashing detergent and completely immerse all parts use spray hot water rinse 10 minute soak pull out rinse lay on old towel let dry take compressed air blow off and oil the shit out of metal parts wipe excess oil off and reassemble and wahla you have a super clean handgun ready for action the disassembly of a g2 i can do it w my eyes closed
I think that sounds like a little overkill for me. When I go shoot I might take 4 or 5 guns with me and most times shoot under a 100 rounds each so will only need a light cleaning when I get home. Thanks for re comment.
The word "clip" is commonly used my millions of people to describe a "magazine" and everyone who isn't a gun designer, an obtuse gun enthusiast, or a WW2 vet (who actually used clips), knows exactly what is meant by the word. While it is technically not as accurate, this slang word is used so often as to be all but official. While a military dictionary claims the proper definition in writing, it's the millions of people, saying the word a billion times, who ultimately assigns (albeit temporarily) the true meaning to a word. Say clip or magazine; everyone knows what you're talking about unless there is literally a true clip and a magazine in front of you that need differentiating. If they claim otherwise, ask them what they are wearing on their feet and then belittle them for not specifying "oxfords" or "loafers" or "trainers" Casey James
It's definitely a generational thing. Both my grandfathers were combat vets and they both called magazines "clips". I bet when the time came to use them they didn't confuse the two.

I had a little trouble at first breaking mine down and when I saw your video, now it's a breeze. Thanks for the tip.
You're welcome!
Wow! That was exactly what I needed. Thank you Sir! Very helpful video. The most useful to me yet, on my G2C.
Just came across this video out of nowhere I tried it and it works much easier than the other two ways I was doing it
Glad I could help!

Thanks for the tip I also have wrist issues and ur way of field striping this gun was very helpful.
Happy to help!
Excellent tutorial, I really appreciated how you made it easy. Thank you Patriot.. Wade Out.
Very welcome
We just got a G2C for my wife and I do the same method for breaking hers down. Makes it a smooth process

I have Pro Mag 32 round Mags and they have been great too. Have fun shooting.
thx that was good info - and your right haven't seen anyone else share this
Out of all videos I watched I never found this tip also! Glad I could help! Thanks for the comment!
Wow just amazing. I always thought pull all the way back. Then pull both buttons.
Glad you liked it!
I just bought one, that was a great tutorial.
Hope you enjoy it!
Great video so easy......
Thanks.

Please name your cat. 🐈 It’s ok to call him something other than CAT. He will catch on.
* “pet” peeve
I need to clean and oil mine - no way I could just push the slide forward with my thumb... Useful tip.
This makes perfect sense because the index finger is stronger than the pinky finger to pull the upper slide back.👍
I agree!
Nice info brother, thanks.
No problem 👍
I have had a TG 2 for ever a great gun
Thanks! By far easiest way!
You're welcome!
Thank you sir for this trick.
You are so welcome.
This is a great video thank you it helped a lot!
Glad it helped!
Outstanding!!
Glad you like it!
Is that an aftermarket grip ? Mine is different?
Steve- You hit on something that I always seemed to have problems with, and thought it was me. Now, thanks to your video, I'm good to go.
Excellent!
Lemme guess, pulling the slide too far to the rear?
Thats a really neat trick
I'm glad you like it, thanks.
Great help 💯👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Glad to hear it!
It’s just like my glocks…same breakdown but hard to zero in. Bad sights but dependability is great. I’ll take my G19 though.
This one is my wife's pistol for CCW! She likes it a lot for CCW, but not target shooting.

I’ve seen this a few times. Done it myself also
Great! I spend a lot of time looking at the problems I have with field stripping my guns. It sounds like you do too! Thanks for the comment!
Got same one now I know a better way
Thanks for this. I got used to breaking it down Glock style, but this is good knowledge. Oh, and you mispronounced "magazine." :)

You lost me when you said, "No clip". Firearms don't use clips, they use magazines. Clips are for you hair. 😂
There indeed is no clip
It's a damn mag not a clip
