Great detail.and enjoyabke. Just to mention the obvious one. Fersinand Piech "Married into the family"? He was Ferdinand Porsche,s grandson... And a colossus of motoring as we all know.
Thanks for pointing this out. We didn't catch the mistake somehow in the interview and all our pre-publish watch-throughs. We will add a correction in the description and insert a card with a link to PCA.org with a little backstory on Piëch. We hope this balances out the mistake. Thanks again! Glad you enjoyed it!
In the early '70s, I lived around the corner from Vasek Polak's showroom in Hermosa Beach, spending hours with my face up against the glass ogling all of these models shown here. The window cleaner must have hated me, an obsessed little bugger I was...and still am!
As both a filmmaker and Porsche enthusiast, my thoughts watching this is: There's a movie here :) Also, does PCA need another editor/videographer? Happy to work for free to be around these cars/people
We have footage of the 914-6 GT including an interview. Plus the 911R. And the 907, of course (though we still need to film interview footage for the 907). Point is, we didn’t cover everything in this video, and we hope to bring you a few individual stories about the cars we didn’t include here in the near future.
We brought the Sonauto #40 to Rennsport 7, and it definitely has that classy "Raced in period" patina; right down to the borrowed front hood off of the green Max Moritz gt...long story but at least it was spray painted white !
When ford comes and races in IMSA with their GT3 race car, all the car corrals get to go on track, porsche, corvette, bmw, lexus, ect. See you at Road Atlanta next week !
Thank you so much for putting Brian in the video! One of my racing heroes.
Our pleasure!
It's so great to watch a video of this quality without any unnecessary music just pure and simply facts and lovely images. Well done PCA 👏☘️
Superbly done - I grew up in Watkins Glen and was able to see a number of these cars first-hand. What an era!
That was one of the most fantastic videos I've ever seen here!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Very well done - informative and entertaining - thank you !
Glad you enjoyed it!
So detailed. Very insightful. So proud to have the same last name of one of the two winning drivers and a proud owner of a Porsche.
Very cool!
Amazing job on this video!
Glad you liked it!
Great Job Damon! I know you put a lot of work into this.
Thanks! Yes, this is that video I was talking about. What a project, but the end result is fantastic.
Incredible video! Best one published so far.
Great story telling!

Hmm, precious little mention of the 1970 Porsche 914-6's that won their class overwhelmingly at LeMans in 1970.

There were a lot of GT cars that can easily can have their own stories but the bigger picture was Piech’s relentless march to win overall at Le Mans.
We brought the Sonauto #40 to Rennsport 7, and it definitely has that classy "Raced in period" patina; right down to the borrowed front hood off of the green Max Moritz gt...long story but at least it was spray painted white !

Why do some Americans pronounce Le Mans as "Le Mahh"? It's pronounced 'Le Mon', it's not that hard guys.
And Porsche also made a P3 Ferrari lol
Wow, how are original for Porsche to make a Ferrari Dino SMH
