This was the first ever TechSource video I watched over two years ago. Back then I only had a Sandy Bridge pentium laptop that struggled to play most games that I wanted at the time. Now I have done two builds and currently rewatching this on my current dream PC.
I cant stop watching it dude I think I have seen it alteast 110 times!!! This is phenomenal. The starting is extra ordinary. I have lost my speech!! And thats why I am writing
It has been 8 years... When I first watched this video, it was still the very early days of getting into PC building for me, I had yet to build a PC and had watched plenty of videos by this point from the likes of you, CareyHolzman and LTT. This was my first exposure to PC modding, I didn't even realise that painting parts was even a possibility. I got into PC building back in 2015, Haswell was the newest thing (we don't talk about AMD FX), Skylake just around the corner. Everything to me was new and exciting, I was always keeping up with new hardware releases and such. I was too young to ever dream of affording even a basic PC, I just used my el cheapo celeron laptop from 2010. If anything this video ignited that passion for PC building even more, just knowing how pretty a PC could be with some extra work. In 2017, I kind of built my first machine. Well not really, it was just an old Dell OptiPlex with a Core 2 Duo that I put a GT 710 in. It was so much better than my old system though, and I used that right up until I built my actual first machine. So that PC I built. It used a cheapo sandy bridge xeon, GTX 580 and literally whatever else I could get my hands on at the time. It wasn't a good PC, but for £200 it was acceptable. I later got a GTX 980 in 2020, my 580 died and in the midst of the pandemic I needed something to play those games on, and figured an upgrade was a good move. Now, the X99 platform itself, holds a pretty special place in my heart. It was the first time I was able to get a premium motherboard, and build a system that was not only stable, but performed well. That was 2021. I'm still using that system to this day, 3 years later. The GPU did die, so I replaced with a GTX 1080. So what was my dream PC back in the day, I basically have now. Here I am, nearly a decade after getting into PC tech, I am now a game designer. I literally couldn't have done any of this without having gotten lucky and seeing this video and many others back in the day. This one, I believe had the most profound impact, so if you're reading this, Ed, thank you.
Man, I have such a scarily similar story, and I came back to this video for the same reasons! Always absolutely loved this video and finding it again after all these years because I'm finally replacing my 960 and thinking about computer parts sparked such crazy memories. Maybe I should paint some stuff...

Everything in the build was amazing except a few things, the white carbon fiber wrap on both SSD's were really bad and should have been done with a larger sheet placed on the SSD then a razor blade used to cut around the edge of the SSD, this will ensure a perfect and clean cut that looks so much better than when done with scissors. The second thing is did you stick that laser cut acrylic Nvidia logo onto the GPU's because if not it will be hard to more. Also why did you cross the water coolers pipes over, it looks better if they run parallel. The last thing is maybe next time (and you probably did it for the video) is keeps the protective film over the side panel so you don't have to worry about finger prints for the build and you can pull it off for a perfect finish!
Quite possibly the best PC I have every had the pleasure of laying my eyes on. It is surprising because I hate green as a color... or at least I thought I did.

The custom sleeving isn't just sleeving, right? It has cables inside? Just making sure because if I buy some they'd be expensive and then I'd definitely need to make sure I have the right size (especially if they come without the actual cables inside and are just sleeves).
hi I am a first-time PC builder I have never played on PC ever and just wondering do you have to buy the cables that plug into the power supply or do you have to buy cables separate from the power supply
I'm pretty sure this is the exact video that got me interested in computers a few years ago. Going to have to thank you for that because now I know what I want to do in life.
If you use used parts they are more likely to break and malfunction and if not that you might get scammed :/ I am on a 1k gaming pc and still wanting to upgrade it to something like the one in the video soon :D
Thank you for posting this, I now have the perfect example of how color coding and cable management take a PC from being functional to a piece of art. Is there a list or a link to a new egg shopping cart that had all these parts?
Beautiful PC build green is my favorite color, "ARMY green" specifically. I have never seen anyone build a military theme inspired PC with a proper use of ARMY green color. If you can build something like this, possibly looking like military ammo crate or similar... that would be a dream come true, plus you be the first one to ever do it.

Pretty sure in 2018 two 1080 Ti’s cost around $5800
Stefan T
Nope $2000 at the time
Nope

KillerzMemez i live in dnemark so the prices are like a nightmare in hell, please feel sorry for me.

Would be insane if there was a benchmarks video to follow this, looks great well done!
There will be benchmarks for sure.
Good, good. but can it play Tetris at 60fps?
The Neckless
Probably at 30fps not so sure about 60fps
no pc can play tetris at 30 fps let alone 60
Yea.With medium specs you should v able to get at least 60 fps

Still watching after two years, you gave me the feeling of building PC
Watching this makes me realise, just how broke I really am. :/
Seriously though, not one but fucking 2 GTX 1080s in that thing!?
TheBaconGamingNetwork nah two TITAN XP's are better
McPovisLtu Productions two gtx 1080 ti's ftw
TheBaconGamingNetwork I feel you bro
TheBaconGamingNetwork same as you😭😭😭😭
The custom sleeving isn't just sleeving, right? It has cables inside? Just making sure because if I buy some they'd be expensive and then I'd definitely need to make sure I have the right size (especially if they come without the actual cables inside and are just sleeves).
Full cables
TechSource Alright, I'll definitely look into these! They're super cool!
their is full cables
which ones did you use?
hi I am a first-time PC builder I have never played on PC ever and just wondering do you have to buy the cables that plug into the power supply or do you have to buy cables separate from the power supply
Still less complicated than IKEA products
Xbox Guy Ahahaha so true
Flaming Coc k*
Still less complicated than Argos products

TechSource I'm starstruck... didn't think you'd reply:)
You are aware that those two video cards are gonna get VERY warm while you play games, should of went with the windforce ones

whats the name of Music at 0:55?

I'm pretty sure this is the exact video that got me interested in computers a few years ago. Going to have to thank you for that because now I know what I want to do in life.
This guy seems to enjoy his job!
When the graphics cost more than my whole build.
And possibly car.
I don't have a car.
Git gud
+Nick xD
Edit: Just checked, the motherboard is the price of my GPU+CPU.
***** You have a house?
***** Alright then.
Lol my car cost me 200$ and all the doors are diferent colors
Here I am sitting with a 300$ laptop...
ikr
It sucks that you could have spent that money and bought used parts for a fairly decent gaming PC
Yeah... Didn't know much about computers back then
***** For used parts, yes you can.
If you use used parts they are more likely to break and malfunction and if not that you might get scammed :/ I am on a 1k gaming pc and still wanting to upgrade it to something like the one in the video soon :D
2016 was your best year Techsourse !
This brings back good old memories, love it!❤👍
Sameeee🔥
It's amazing that today you can build this for like 2000 bucks or so
Thank you for posting this, I now have the perfect example of how color coding and cable management take a PC from being functional to a piece of art. Is there a list or a link to a new egg shopping cart that had all these parts?
NVM the last bit just saw it in the description.
