You're not the only one, given the series is so consistently forgotten that the only thing people remember about it is them having Reimu, Marisa and later Yuuka cameos. Amazingly, the series had brief revivals on April Fools recently with a joke game called VIVIT-99, where you have to outlast 98 AI-controlled opponents playing the same stage (and I do mean the same stage, there's only one that infinitely loops until you win or lose), a game where you control a stage boss trying to shoot the series player characters and an update to VIVIT-99 called VIVIT-99r that lets you play real PVP, sending extra bullets by grazing (but still only one stage and song, the only thing keeping it from being a full game)
I’ve heard of seihou but have never even considered getting into it being that the character design is so bland that it almost feels AI generated when looking at it
"Theme of Eastern Story" Is basically gensokyo theme. Appears in menu themes. And appears in The extra stage from seihou project. The extra stage Is gensokyo.... So, yes. "Theme of Eastern Story" Is basically gensokyo theme.
if you're interested, Doreki Takase made one about it. Just look up his video about Theme of Eastern Story and skip to the 4th minute, and there it is, I guess
There is a RUclips playlist with (almost?) every single song from Touhou that somehow includes Theme of Eastern Story somewhere inside of each song The playlist is named "All Theme of Eastern Story"

Are you referring to the theory that ZUN composed the song before Touhou 4, or are you talking about the version included with Akyuu’s Untouched Score (which I do talk about)?
Some part of the song is somewhat similar to Retribution for The Eternal Night (which is probably like a newer version of Theme of Eastern Story) which is interesting. Also Tengu's Notebook Mysterious Note is also quite the same but slower and a bit different

Weird to think that this theme went from barely being used in any game to being used in every touhou game

I heard of touhou 4 and 5 having it, but i never understood where. It always seemed to talk about the title, but it wasn't there
Yeah I’d always read that on the Wiki and didn’t get what it meant until a few months ago
Nice job, Megapig. Very well researched and great presentation.
