This is covered in the video whichll help more than my comment as I use visual guides too. But basically the lower the mod priority the earlier it’s loaded so others after will overwrite. With Load Order, last in load order wins conflicts
I've been organizing the priority the opposite way this whole time, i've always thought that #1 gives more priority than any number after it. no wonder my game kept crashing 😅

I ask you because I opened Steam today during the permitted update time and Skyrim updated. Did I do wrong? Is there something I should fix now? Also I was wondering if you have any way to support your work through tips or something related, so your next brew is on me?
Thanks for the informative video! I do have a question, so if you have some mods that patch others, should you just put all patching mods at the very bottom of your priority list? For example mods that patch a whole bunch of mods together, like multiple different armor collections, some of the patches I've used autodetect in the fomod which ones I have, some of which might be below it in the priority list. As it autodetected them I thought they were ok where they were. Dose in actuality it mean that the mods below the compendium weren't patched? I also had another question, say I have a mod that adds more guard npcs, and I have a mod that adds new equipment to guards, if the mod that adds new equipment is above the new guard npc mod, will those new guards not have the new gear, as they are added later?
Ty for your excellent video :) I have a question for you, a clarification really... it is very clear that the last record will overwrite the previous record. This is clear if one item is just replacing another but this is where I am unclear... What if the same weapon is being edited, one edits 1 aspect of the same weapon and another one edits another aspect, e.g. one mod edits a bow's range and another edits it's damage. Does it have both things at the end of the overwriting process or just one? If so does it do that naturally in vanilla or would a merge patch help?
@@ADHDecent somehow, i did it bro XD, beforehand, when i was install preset, the preset didn't appear when i tried to load,, but now i changed the racemenu version to 0.4.16, and it just works.. Thanks for the respond.. ^_^
So if I understood everything right, The Creation club stuff should have a higher PRIORITY while leaving the DLC with the lowest priority? I think I've got my LO right, but some of the meshes aren't coming out right. I'm trying to get Northern Roads+patches to work with Folkvangr Grass and landscape overhaul to work right and I'm still not sure if it's a LO issue or if it's a priority issue. If anyone can help me figure out what it is I'm missing I'd appreciate it.
Hey! So question, the right panel of MO2- let's say I'm installing ryn's mods- where do I exactly put the esp? low, middle or high? I've not yet installed anything that's affecting that file and was told that loot is bad and I should stick to manual sort
The first time everything was going right when i tried to mod skyrim out of nothing all the mods got the priority inverted, so the essential mods where overwritten by every other mod, someone pls help
I still don't understand, should the left panel and the right panel have the same priority for example: Nether's Follower Framework, Framework should be at the top just at the bottom of the ESMs if they are the 10th on the left should it be 10th on the right? because for example loot but anywhere the plugins I ended up with the patches in the middle whereas they should be at the bottom! Another exemple : Lanterns of Skyrim is an environmental mod so in the left he need to be below missions/quests if he was an ESP and not an ESM should it be in the same place as my mod in the modlist in my case 119?
I'm running xbox x. These mods. Elfx, Northern roads, lanterns of skyrim 2, more to say, civilization-a mod bundle. There are a ton of patches. Do I put all of them at the top since they change a lot of the games landscape and architecture?
Very good MO2 tutorial. I came here looking a little deeper though. Some ESP's and ESL's act as ESM and all three shoot all the way to the top. Let's say you have 400 mods in the left pane and 480 plugins in the right pane. You add something like Midwood Island. The plugin will shoot all the way up to the last master. Now you have Midwood at 401 in the left and 72 on the right. What do you do. All the numbers on the right just shifted down. Do yo move the left up to the mod corresponding to the plugin 71? To me, this also messes up separators. And do you keep doing this manually for all plugins that don't drag where you want? Thanks
So i more or less got this but does anyone have a good reference list of how to properly organize Pluggin and load order in catagories to to speak...like what type of mods should start with on pluggin like do i start with mods related to master files like unoffical patch...or say body mods or quest mods
I run fus modpack through wabbajack and want to upgrade to the puscher 202x 8k textures. I have them downloaded but have no idea where they should be put as far as priority goes. Can you help please?
Hey man I’m using mods that change some armors and / or add retextured versions of them. I’m also using unplayable faction armors by nord war ua. I set that as the highest priority , yet the previous mod textures overwrite it. What do I do?
@ADHDecent in this vid you say to put patches late in the order so they can find what they're patching, but in your vid on Categories and Separators, you put Patches together with Bugfixes up at the beginning. it's confusing, can you help explain it better? i guess i'm going to follow your pattern of patches at the beginning of Mod Priority, but then put patches at the end of Load Order. fingers x'd....
This is a very good point. Your last paragraph is exactly correct. The difference between mod priority and load order is vital with this. There are also exceptions to this based on what it is they are patching. Game patches or small changes to allow other mods to work on their own can be placed early on. Patches that fix multiple mods within your mod list will need to be placed after said mods as they reference those mods directly
I have a question is there anyway to figure out the mod priority and proper positioning of the mods? That would help so much in making new from scratch mod lists
By understanding how it works as explained in this video, it should give you an idea on how to organise and structure your list. Also with auto sorting in MO2, conflict management in Vortex and LOOT application, you should be able to get an idea :-)

Great video! Subbed :D
Thank you! Appreciate it :-) happy modding!!
My Depression is thanks to Mod Load Order confusion
thx man
Happy modding! :)
Ty for your excellent video :)
I have a question for you, a clarification really...
it is very clear that the last record will overwrite the previous record.
What is ShaderCash in overwrite?
This all nice and great but how do i do it? MO2 wont let me move mods up or down.
bro, please make video bout how to install preset
Noted! Thanks for the suggestion! Great idea :)
@@ADHDecent wow,, thanks... ^_^
@@ADHDecent somehow, i did it bro XD, beforehand, when i was install preset, the preset didn't appear when i tried to load,, but now i changed the racemenu version to 0.4.16, and it just works..
Thanks for the respond.. ^_^
Amazing news! Glad you got it working, happy to help!
10/10 nothing more to say.
I appreciate that thank you so much!
So correct me if I'm wrong, The Plugin Loads Before the mod in the load order right?
Wise Choice mod? Gonna Nexus that right now
Not a real mod (that I know of) just an example
Hello, have a way to atomaticaly sort the priority order by instalation time?
Do I put all of them at the top since they change a lot of the games landscape and architecture?
i wanted to know where does the unoffical legendary edition patch come in the mod priority list
As high as possible
I still dont get what "Overwrite" does and if I have to even bother with it
Hey man, love your tutorial, but can you pls help me fix my mod load order? I feel like sometimes some of my mods aint showing up.

Am I crazy or does the song sound like a incoming Skype call
Someone please help, I got the error code with medal.exe and now my game won’t even start up
Hey man I’m using mods that change some armors and / or add retextured versions of them.
@@ADHDecent got you, thanks a lot for your response, really appreciate it!
@@ADHDecent oh thank you I’m on xbox and working on a from scratch mod list that is dark souls inspired
Hi great instructional, I can't find this answer anywhere I have a mod that is 104 load order, I need the load order ID to enter a command for the mod, I am using vortex so I can't change the load order, how do I get the ID for the console command ty
Appreciate it thank you! Honestly, I have no idea this could be the first time I am unsure where to begin. Vortex is not really suitable for larger load orders when it comes to this stuff. Apart from that I’m afraid I really am lost on this one sorry!
@@ADHDecent Thanks for response and have a great day bro!
Appreciate it thank you! Good luck with it :-)
Okay, nice. Now do it without a mod organizer/manager.
please tell me if i install a patch, should i active the patchs esp in load order or no
Yes
This is a foreign language lol got the graphic mods to work fine added some interface mods it crashes lol and says skse is not loaded when it is 😑
5:33 says a key point. Thank you
I appreciate your support :)
Bro says bethesda so elegantly lmao
😁
I deleted mods cause I had bruma and I had all them except one and all the nopcs faces were fucked and so I deleted them and what mods I had and got a total of 60 and half of them are the same mods I had and the other half is diff and I deleted all my saves to do a new game and now I can’t get off the Skyrim logo screen it’s the one right after the menu screen I reordered some of my mods made sure ussp was the very first I got a bunch of followers one is new to me and I got a bunch of Lydia mods that I haven’t used I’m on Xbox also if anyone is wonderin
now show me your load order list bro
Ive installer two mods one i can see in the mods tab in game the i dont see it does that mean it doesnt work
Are you using a mod manager?
@@ADHDecent well im usine mo2
@@ADHDecent the to mods are skyrim realistic overhaul and noble skyrim the one i cant see is noble skyrim i can see it in mo2 but when i go in game start a game i just see the three download for skyrim realistic overhaul but not noble skyrim and i checked the box in mo2
Ignore the in game menu. Ensure it’s correctly installed through MO2. And if you have SKSE installed as well. Launch Skyrim from MO2 using SKSE
Ok and is there suppose to be a plugin for noble skyrim in the plugin section
Well last time i have modded my game (200+ plugin) it take me 30+ hour, so this time i have brought energy bar, coca cola, coffee, and the next week end to try to do the same with around 300 mod.
brilliant! XD
Nothing exploded yet, I think I did it right
Alright now do one for dummies
I just need a tutorial, not a full on teaching.
i just want to play modded gameplay 🥲
Yeaaaahhh I know the feeling XD
