Dicamba & 2,4-D: Old Herbicides Causing New Problems

  • Dicamba and 2,4-D have traditionally been used on cropland during the early part of the growing season, when trees and other sensitive plants are still dormant.
    With the release of crop varieties tolerant of these herbicides, however, summer applications are resulting in tree and native plant injury on a landscape level. This webinar will discuss the history of this issue and illustrate herbicide injury on trees.
    Robbie Doerhoff is the Forest Entomologist for the Missouri Department of Conservation. She received both her BS and MS in Biology from Truman State University, studying Belizean katydids for her thesis. Robbie is originally from a farm in Lawrence County, but now enjoys living north of Columbia with her husband and sons.
