I still think this is one of the best Daffy cartoons. It's practically a perfect character study of Daffy's two halves. Both the cheerful, mischievous Daffy, and the ambitious, frustratedly down on his luck Daffy. A guy who' can still troll and one up his opponents but can't dodge that he is in over his head. While Chuck Jones quickly gave up on this amalgamation for the latter fully blown, Robert Mckimson seemed to really like the idea here. He used the slick talking con artist Daffy for years after this.
One of the very cartoons in the bugs bunny and daffy duck superstars DVD that wasn't given the "fuck you, give us your money so you can't see the full picture you jackass" treatment.
The line "What's Humphrey Bogart got that I haven't got?": It's interesting that when they used this cartoon in Quackbusters, they kept that line intact. I'd half expect them to replace that name with a current actor.
A point of mockery in the upcoming Quackbusters review. They do it twice in that movie. The second time they do it, it's the end of Punch Trunk. In that short, a scientist goes on radio to dispel the rumors just as he sees the tiny elephant. Same thing happens to Daffy, only it's on "Frightline with Zed Tappel" (Nightline with Ted Koppel). That one makes a little more sense because it has to lead to Daffy losing the business, but still...
The whole opening of Quackbusters is this cartoon. They just changed it where the original cartoon ends with Cubish laughing and throwing more pies at Daffy's face until he finally passes away. Then Daffy inherits his money but has to use it a certain way, which sets up the story.
Cubish I guess has nothing to do at the end but lie in his bed and throw pies at Daffy while laughing his ass off. Doesn't he take a break every now and then?

Can you do a commentary on A Corny Concerto or Kitty Cornered??
Absolutely! We never closed down the email address. But we have the commentaries for the next six months already scheduled and uploaded, so the earliest you would see your request filled is April. So if you don't mind waiting, go for it!
That's true of a lot of shorts. Like Sylvester's first cartoon, "Life with Feathers." That could be ANY Sylvester and Tweety cartoon (even though Tweety's not in that one). Also, I don't think there's a single Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner cartoon with a title that specifically describes the events of the cartoon itself. Pretty sure ALL the RR cartoons titles are interchangeable.
Hello. Welcome to RUclips. You've obviously never been here before, so I'll explain why what you said, if you were a YT regular, sounds kinda dumb. See... it's not just that cartoons are or are not allowed on RUclips. You probably think that I have the option of either posting the entire cartoon or posting a commentary... or posting a cartoon with a little bit of commentary and then letting the rest of the cartoon play out. The reason you probably think this is because there are a lot of cartoons on RUclips in full. Here's the thing, dude. Those are public domain. Most of the Warner Bros. cartoons are owned by WB, but there are some in the public domain. Daffy Dilly, however, is not. So the only way you're going to see the whole cartoon, on RUclips, is if someone makes a commentary of it. So the matter of fact answer to your question of do I have to talk over the whole damn cartoon is.... yes. If you want to see it at all on RUclips, then, yes. Yes I do have to talk over the whole thing. So you're welcome. - trevor.

Hello I have cartoon on DVD as part of the Looney tunes super stars DVD called Daffy Duck frustrated fowl
4:47 This monologue of Daffy’s is the main thing I remember from this cartoon before reseeing it on the Quackbusters movie. It’s my favorite part.
That was a nice recreation of Daffy's monologue.
Great cartoon and great stories you shared, Trevor. Also, I liked your Daffy Duck "imita-thun!"
One of the very cartoons in the bugs bunny and daffy duck superstars DVD that wasn't given the "fuck you, give us your money so you can't see the full picture you jackass" treatment.
Daffy can make people laugh better than Bugs
Bugs evokes laughter. Daffy has to resort to selling things that evoke laughter.
Early daffy is indeed funnier
The line "What's Humphrey Bogart got that I haven't got?": It's interesting that when they used this cartoon in Quackbusters, they kept that line intact. I'd half expect them to replace that name with a current actor.
In “Daffy Dilly”, there was a radio announcement. Now from “Daffy Duck’s Quackbusters”, it was changed to a TV News announcement!
And then there's the grave of "the master" in the epilogue. Creepy...
Yeah, they updated it for the 80's.
I’m ASD and OCD, and I always appreciate original titles! 😂
Loved the classic Looney Tunes when I was a kid. And I've always wanted a dog just to name him "Ruggles" because of this cartoon 🤣
*Once and for all, I'm going to-*
Well, for the new footage Mel was older so his voice was older. Nothing they could do about that.
It was used as an opening scene in Quack busters?!!
The whole opening of Quackbusters is this cartoon. They just changed it where the original cartoon ends with Cubish laughing and throwing more pies at Daffy's face until he finally passes away. Then Daffy inherits his money but has to use it a certain way, which sets up the story.
Ya ssthee anything green? Any fliessth on me?
Classic!
I love the line ..
I WASSTH a bit dussthty!
There's already a line of cereal called Annie's...maybe someday they will put out a new cereal called Annie's Cran Bran.
Cubish I guess has nothing to do at the end but lie in his bed and throw pies at Daffy while laughing his ass off. Doesn't he take a break every now and then?
Can you do a commentary on A Corny Concerto or Kitty Cornered??
Contact the email at the end of the video.
Is it ok if I start requesting videos again?
Absolutely! We never closed down the email address. But we have the commentaries for the next six months already scheduled and uploaded, so the earliest you would see your request filled is April. So if you don't mind waiting, go for it!
😂😂😂
Bit of a generic title, you could call any Daffy short "Daffy Dilly"
That's true of a lot of shorts. Like Sylvester's first cartoon, "Life with Feathers." That could be ANY Sylvester and Tweety cartoon (even though Tweety's not in that one). Also, I don't think there's a single Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner cartoon with a title that specifically describes the events of the cartoon itself. Pretty sure ALL the RR cartoons titles are interchangeable.
I have an idea why this was titled "Daffy Dilly". Maybe it came from the line Daffy said after falling into the fountain.
how to get a gf being a hardcore looney tunes fan
I have a friend in college named Annie....should I mess with her name?
Yes, but not today. Tomorrow. Tomorrow.
Lol throw dirty money here
Gee, you have to talk over the whole damn cartoon?
