I honestly think Anne is reacting pretty normally. She just found out someone she trusted not only lied to her but buried and lost the only clue she had to getting home. I’d be ticked too if I thought my adoptive grandpa had been actively searching for answers for me and instead had just… done nothing productive with it. We saw how much she misses her family back in Hopping Mall. And on top of that she’s 13. She’s grown and matured since she got to Amphibia but she’s still barely a teenager. It’s easy for most of us, being mostly adults and omniscient, to be like “come on Anne, really? Is it really that bad?” And while yeah, obviously we understand why Hop Pop did it. It’s still a breach in trust regardless. That’s just my two cents anyway.
Exactly my thoughts, she’s a lost child who was just betrayed by someone she thought she could trust, she’s going to be upset. Like you said, she’s barely a teen, so being lied to like that couldn’t have been easy.
Similar thoughts as well. If Hop Pop had just pulled her aside and told her "this box is dangerous and here's why" she might have even agreed with putting the box into hiding.
honestly anne reacted pretty normally, people want to hold her up to adult standards when she literally just turned 13 like that's a child with a child's emotional capacity, she has already been betrayed by someone she loved and trusted deeply and to have it happen again by someone she considered family must've been a lot
Braly wanted the show to be serialized at the start but was challenged by Disney at every turn. So instead he made season 1 more of a way for us to get to know the folks of this small country town. Like he's helping us know everyone, like how in a small town everyone knows everyone else. The viewer is as much a part of the town as Anne is. Otherwise the line "These stones are NOT Amphibia's greatest treasure" wouldn't have contextually worked. Season 1 is a matter of making the best of what your bosses force you.
Fun fact:the tea actions that ivy used when fighting her mother was originally used in the karate kid if you didn’t know thought it was weirdly stupid to add but funny
It's episode 2x13 and we are coming close to the best part of the show. The box, Anne's relationship with her friends both from earth and Amphibia, Sasha and Grime's intentions - soon all these pieces will be set in motion. 2x13a was another nice standalone story about a Wartwood citizen. There's a theory that we already have seen Ivy's father and that's Wally! His screentime in this episode is surprisingly long for a random character and when Felicia is talking about Ivy's father the screen is centred exactly on him. And finally the truth about Hop Pop and the box. He has buried it nearly a season ago and only now we find out why. Well, the answer is much more simple that we might expect. And it's really heartwarming to see Anne forgiving him. She totally doesn't need more trust issues... Once again thanks for your reaction!
Bro that voice acting from hop pop as he says “im sorry” while crying. That was strong i mean he feels like he betrayed the trust of his adopted grandchild and his dead child. thats strong. I got teary eyed. Good episode i’m glad you address the great comedy in this. I like all this. It’s January 6th this is part 33/?
Nah man, if my only goal for several months had been to go back to my loved ones and one of the people I trusted most had not only lied to me but also jeopardize my chances of ever going back to those I care about, I'd spit in his face. Hop Pop acted ouy of guilt for Sprig and Polly's parents deaths, but if they had lost the music box, he would have basically taken away the families of Anne, Marcy and Sasha forever.
15:13 It is her only chance of ever getting back to her home and seeing her family again, he knew that, and he still tried to bury it, so no, i don't think she is being too harsh
I commented this in the last video and I will do it again, just to get the message across. Do not watch the end credit scene for the season 2 finale. It's a trailer for season 3 and spoils a bunch of stuff.
Yeah I had messaged him something about it too. Don't watch it! When I watched it live, there was no immediate opening/trailer for season 3 until they dropped the opening a few (?) months later. I saw another reactor who didn't know and it went right into it. Just takes away the end of season feels.
@@jennifermedicus2735 Yeah, I didn't know about it either the first time I watched it and after finishing the credits I was suddenly in the middle of the season 3 preview. I think your last line summed up my feelings perfectly.
I understand why you might find annes reaction kind of regressive after learning so many lessons, and i will admit that after the show has done it so many times this kind of plot gets redundant, but the music box is the only possible connection she has to getting home that she knows of so i think its understandable that she was super mad about it.

the sport is discus or shot put

They really don't pull any punches in "After the Rain." It's always heartbreaking when someone blames themself for a tragedy they never saw coming.

If you look in that junk pit with all the bugs, you can see Anne's other shoe in there.
Poor Hop Pop...
You can tell that he definitely has survivor’s guilt about Sprig and Polly’s parents.
Good ol Amphibia combing a goofy episode and a gut punch emotional episode together when you least expect it.
Hahah yeah, just like that one in s3 with the spiderman reference TwT
3:17 Look, it's Anne's other shoe!!!! So that's where it's been.
Something you have to praise this show for is having amazing and well fleshed-out side and background characters.

The next episode is one of the BEST of entire series -- 💚
So the truth of why Hop-Pop hid the book is finally revealed. So tragic.

I love that Polly has tape on her tail.
You made this the thumbnail?! Poor Wally how could you
I’m celebrating that he can take a punch 😂
5:15
Gotta love these tiny bits of animation
Great thumbnail xd
The second it happened I knew this was the thumbnail 😂
Considering Anne is literally 13 she is extremely mature.

I JUST REALISED WHY THE BOX IS LABELLED DANGEROUS i never connected that until now

" 'After The Rain'? Who knows..."
Me: Oh WE do.
7:43 Hurray!!! Karate Kid (Movie) Reference!!!!! YES!!!
Hey Mikey, have you seen Avatar the last airbender? If not this is an outstanding show to react to. For me it is even better than gravity falls.
15:13 It is her only chance of ever getting back to her home and seeing her family again, he knew that, and he still tried to bury it, so no, i don't think she is being too harsh
The sport is called 'Hammer Throwing'

Oh my goodness I'm so sorry! I did see your comment, but totally forgot to reply to it. Thank you!
I wholeheartedly agree!
@@MikeyVenture Not a trailer, just the intro for it, but if you'd rather wait till you see the season itself, then I agree.
