- Dedicating this wonderful song to all of the Freedom Fighters out there, but most of all my mother, a life long activist who taught her daughters and granddaughters to always stand up and use their voices.
You may not know exactly what to say or how to say it, but if you believe that everyone has and deserves the fundamental right to live their life freely without a fear/threat of violence, hatred or oppression, then you have all it takes to stand up and speak up. Let's live and grow together by supporting our communities together.
"Plot. Plan. Strategize. Organize. Properly Mobilize." Killer Mike

Takin’ It To The Street - Michael McDonald Taupin Tunes ASCAP - Видеоклипы
I had to send this to Mr. Mcdonald!! This is powerful!!
This song was written by Michael McDonald, who grew up in Ferguson, MO. It was based on an essay written by his sister Maureen McDonald about racial relations in St. Louis, MO, in the 1960s. Michael sang the song with The Doobie Brothers.
Poignant. Beautiful. Full of heart. Like you, Shakura. Thank you.
This beautiful and powerful! Should have way more views!
Beautiful song with a powerful message. Michael McDonald wrote a timeless classic.
Puts this in a new light for me, probably what I ought to have heard thirty or forty years ago.
Poignant. Love you! Hey Bettye ❤️ Love your message to the world.
I'm a huge fan of MM's original version. Heard this on CBC just now and it slammed me in the face! Fantastic re-interpretation in the frame of BLM! Bravo Shakura and band!
Fabulous collaboration!
abSOULoot BRILLIANCE !!!
Powerful and moving!
Shakura, my sister. I effing love this. Everything about this. THIS!!!!!! Tuuuuunnne! And dear lord does this every kill. And! The production. It’s really perfect. Bravo. Bravo. And thank you.
Great vocals, including the backing ones! I love how you gave this song such a soulful feeling by slowing it down.
Taking to our hearts ❤️
Beautiful... the music and the message.
Love this!!!
Musical and video genius at work here. So glad you all found each other to create this brilliant interpretation of Michael McDonald's song from 1976. I'll bet he's loving this!
Thank you
Love you Billy! Chrissy~
Powerful! Great collaboration.
I know this is slow for a reason. But if I play this with speed at 1.25 ...... pure heaven .......
Oh wow, what a killer version...
Beautiful. Powerful. Thank you. Credit note: Raoul Bhaneja sings and plays harp here. But he's not in the thank you credits. "Raoul Bharouth" gets a credit - is that Raoul's stage name? Or a misprint?
I've thought this song should be sung in the streets
Funny how me as a musician have put this beautiful tune into my song list. However, I'm a strong Republican and fits better on the right side.
That Bombed turning a great song into a big downer. 😢
please try to discourage the rioters & looters. (makes ME mad...)
Love this!!!!
