Hey mate, it's Gareth here, I was the tour guide here! Thanks so much for the kind words, it's class to see your channel! Didn't know we had a celebrity on 😎 Superb video!
Mate I hope you're ok with being on there, I was gonna blur you out but you were fantastic at your job I felt it was only a good thing for the club to show the tour in all its glory 😅 I came for Kane at the start of the season to watch the Bundesliga but stayed for this incredible Leverkusen journey! I signed up to membership and plan to return - but as you said THINGS ARE CRAZY BUSY with the success and I'm sorry but the tours are only gonna get busier 🤩 LEGEND.
More than happy man, photos and videos are very welcome at the club! Let me know when you're back in town sure and we'll meet for a wee Kölsch !@@RysFootyParadise
It's a small stadium but up until the late 2000s it only had 22'000 seats while being in the Bundesliga since the 1970s. Leverkusen is basically a factory town or at least it used to be and therefore did not have such a big fanbase. Leverkusen is also very close to Cologne and most people there supported 1. FC Köln despite Köln being so much worse for a while now. But Leverkusen have gained a lot of fans recently and maybe they will expand the stadium in the future, although there is not a lot of space to do so. Btw, it was one of the first stadiums that had a hotel in the stadium and the BayArena was one of the first purpose-built football grounds at a time when most big clubs still played in stadiums with athletics track. So I really think it it quite nice and already has a lot of history.
@@RysFootyParadisehistorically it is a big club. Not as big as Köln, but they still have a large fanbase. Generally, this region is full of football heritage and Leverkusen also is a traditional club - despite the Bayer ownership.
Easy German Trick nr1. The main thing when you read anything German is pronounce letters. We have no silent "e" in the end. If there is an "e" you speak it Kurve = coorv-EH Just no silent letters ;)
Brilliant video!! As I’ve said before to you.. I follow Moenchengladbach.. I do like levekusens ground.. I find the bigger stadiums intimidating…Trying and get to hoffenheim sometime …I love it there as there is an aviation museum outside the ground…Off to Stuttgart in 2 week for Borussia last away game …Keep the videos coming 👍
Shops are closed on Sundays in Germany. This also applies to fan shops 😅

Is Fortuna Dusseldorf quite a big club also? Kind of in the middle of the two isn’t it, Leverkusen. Thanks for the info 😊👍🏾

Was u there on a Sunday? By law German shops can't open Sundays mate. Everything expect restaurants and kiosks and stuff is closed
Yeah it’s like Britain back in the 80s - shops closed Sunday, smoking in public, drinking at football 😁👍🏾 good old days

Good team with a goofy stadium. Probably the weirdest vip boxes on the continent. Looks like they build the roof above a communist deli.
The crappy Bay arena🤢
