Not her repeating "Whitening" over and over. I liked your response..."I don't want to get white, I love my skin color".
No amount of whitening cream is going to turn black skin white. We all know that. But i think there is ignorance abt why we use whitening cream in Asia. It is to have clearer skin. Acne scars, pigmentation, freckles , uneven skin tones due to sunburn etc show up much more on those of us not dark. Whitening cream helped reduce my chicken pox scars which were very obvious on my pale brown pinkish face.
Did we watch the same video? That woman was just trying make a sale. Showed her lots of products it was she who asked if that was the whitening product. The woman didn't try to make her buy it . Anyway no way she gonna turn white with whitening products. They only help clear up uneven tones . If you have the melanin it's going to show.
She sounded defensive about her skin. The woman was just telling her what each product was for like the other one being for dry skin. Not like she was telling her she this was a recommended product for her.
The impression I get is she is defensive because in Korea she stands out as a dark skinned person. Maybe because of her self consciousness her only friend is someone with similar skin tone. It is sad, because I am sure there are Koreans who can look beyond that and would be her friends.
@Lin Dc @Sunshine16 The replies to this comment are bullshit. Ya'll know damn well the obsession with white skin they have over there. Even a natural born Korean who has slightly darker skin is made fun of. Whitening products ARE NOT sold for uneven tone don't even try to push that bs.
@@CosmoQueen2900 do you live in Asia? I do. I have been to Korea several times too. You believe what you want to believe. Everything is Racism to.some people. Even if its their beauty standard, its their country so they have a right to see it how they like. Just because some dont fit that mold, they get upset and scream discrimination. If they tell you you need to lighten your skin cos its ugly, then I understand you being upset. But they are just selling a product. You can just say No if you dont want it. Dont tell others what they should find beautiful. People have a right to decide on that and it differs from person to person, culture to.culture. The truth is even in the Black community they favour lighter skin over dark which is why they have Brown vs Black discussions

A lot of them are not as “white.” Or “pale.” As they think tho😭😭🤦🏽♀️. “White.” Equals “purity.” And “ nobility.” in a vast majority of Asians cultures and ion mean yt ppl but the paleness is what they are trying to achieve. Meanwhile being darker equals field workers in a lot of Asian cultures like rice planters, etc. Asians culture is very homogenous countries like China, Japan, and Korea look down on Philippines, Vietnamese, etc countries bc they are a lot “darker.” Then their countries. Same within Hispanic and Black Ethnicity/culture where it is built upon that the more lighter a person was the more Attractive they are and the darker a person is the uglier they are.
@@nthuthukomdluli1052 I am lighter but for an Asian am not light. In Korea she would be very dark compared to locals.The thing is whitening products in Asia we use them just to have a better glow, get rid of scars from pimples , blackheads etc. It's not to bleach our skin.

I love Korea. I lived in Chuncheon for a year in the 90’s ( Army). I would love to visit the country again. My friends and I frequently took buses and trains all over Korea on the weekends. I loved everything about that experience.

Don’t worry about boys because you’ve got to live your best life and prepare for the future. Boys can be a distraction and get in the way of your goals. Some people may find true and lasting love while in their youth but it’s rare. If you do get a boyfriend like in college just keep your boundaries. People may seem like they don’t acknowledge your beauty but they are pretending or scared to reveal it. First observation, clean and well organized train station. In the U.S. it is so unkempt ! One can smell rats, urine, and overall image is like there was a nuclear attack or something . So, at least you are lucky you step into the well lit, clean, and cozy train station in S. Korea

Whitening products are sold all over Asia and its not just to make skin lighter. Those of us who are really light skinned use it too, to get rid of scars or pigmentation. That sales lady was just treating them like other customers .
