It's even worse if you're a Doordash driver picking up an order that has been submitted to the restaurant online. They usually don't start the order until you get there and it takes 3x longer to get the food. If you're ordering fast food online, then it's not fast

The 'pull up and wait' thing drives me insane! Happens to me at least 50% of the time. My orders usually aren't big or complicated either, just stuff they should have ready to go.
They have you pull forward if the order isn't done yet by three seconds after you arrive. It usually comes out in less than a minute, except for those unfortunate people who slip through the cracks and end up waiting half an hour.
I had McDonald's threaten to call the cops on me once when they asked me to pull forward and wait. I said, no I'm good, I can just wait here at the window. They tried to rephrase it like as if I didn't understand and finally I said, pull forward why? So the people behind me can get their food first? I'm all set with that, first come, first served, I'll wait right here thank you. That's when they threatened to call the cops. I just said give me my money back and I'll go somewhere else. So seeing the thumbnail for this video I had to watch!
What is worse is after you pull over and wait again is when they bring out your food and it is the wrong order. Usually cause they gave it to someone else by mistake so then they walk (never run) back inside to un F it all as you start your wait all over again.
@@TheKingmetroid Your not wrong. I don't eat there anymore. Prices are so high with inflation and the mandatory minimum wage that I'd go to a real restaurant over fast food because it costs just as much now. At least in CA anyways.

As a current McDonald’s employee…. This is so accurate and kinda funny. I feel so bad for the guy. What’s annoying is that I’m an actual good employee that gets the customer their food quickly however I’m not allowed in the back anymore because I’m a “Guest Experience Leader “ and the manager wants me interacting with guests even tho stuff like this happens and all lmao 🤣 i feel so bad for the customers cuz I get their food out in like 2 min while some of my coworkers take like an hour 😢
I always use that mobile app though. $1 fries is too good to pass up

I went into a KFC for the first time in years a couple years ago, placed an order (just a combo, chicken tenders, mashed potatoes and a coke), and no exaggeration, it took over an hour and a half. Then, get home, and realize that they gave me fries instead of mashed taters (like fries, too, but not what I ordered).
I'm sure this comes as a surprise, but I haven't gone to a KFC since.
When they ask me to pull up I say No Thanks.

I don't know if this has changed but this unwritten policy started due to the drive thru timers. Stores were pressured by district managers to have the fastest drive thru times. The timer stopped when the car drove off the pick up window pad. They eventually stopped pressuring stores due to safety concerns and quality was suffering greatly, as you can imagine.
I remember there being a leaderboard screen with nearby competing McDonald locations… so that could be one of the reasons, but usually the reason I remembered when telling people to pull forward was because he just didnt have there ordered prepared. Maybe we forgot to fry a batch of nuggets and we ran out of nuggets

The same people who bitch about being asked to pull up and wait are the same people who will bitch if they have to wait an extra minute behind the car in front of them. And most of them are completely ignorant of this fact.
I love it when they ask you to pull forward and there is literally nobody behind me.
I've never worked fast food, but just a guess... they wanted you off of the drive thru line, because they have timers out there to measure how long it takes each car to pull through and they need to hit a specific time on average. So by having you leave away from the window, their system measured you leaving with food at that time. Lol.
They must have been slower (judging by the lack of cars behind you) and didn't have your food ready. This will make the manager look like they run a tight ship

that explains it. I experience the same thing when I have to deal with IT customer support. I submit a ticket, and they will immediately close the ticket with their "solution" in the resolution in the ticket, but whether or not the solution actually works is anyone's guess so more than likely you have to re-open the ticket, but they get credited for closing the ticket quickly, never mind whether or not they actually helped you
The fact anyone still goes to McDonald's to be disrespected like this either as a worker or a customer means we failed as a people. Collectively across the globe.

One time me and my dad pulled up to get Ice Cream, and as always they told us to wait in the parking lot. After like 15 minutes of waiting, my dad finally went in to see what the wait was about. Turns out they gave it to the order to the wrong people...somehow? The stupidest part is I think it was people who were eating in the restaurant. So they gave it to someone who did NOT order through the drivethrough, and then just forgot about us 🙃

I waited 30 minutes in a burger King parking lot. They completely forgot about me.
I had to wait in the that parking lot for one large size fries. I didn’t order anything other than French fries. It’s crazy.
My mother once ordered an iced coffee at the drive thru. When she pulls up to the window they tell her that the iced coffee is not ready and to park in one of the spots. While she is waiting, an employee comes out and tries to give her 4 iced teas. She explains she did not order 4 iced teas, she ordered an iced coffee. The employee says 'okay' and goes back inside. My mother waits for another 10 minutes and nobody comes out. So she goes into the store and tells the employee at the counter she still has not received her iced coffee. The employee tells her that she needs to go back on the drive thru line. lol wtf!?!? My mom is like 'no you need to make me my iced coffee that I paid for' and she also asks for a manager. The manager comes to the counter. My mother explains the whole situation to her. Manager tries to find the iced coffee and/or locate the employee who was supposed to make it. Finally the manager just makes a new iced coffee. She did refund the original price of the coffee which was nice I guess. lol

Lol, this reminds me so much of the Taco Bell I used to go to when I started night shift at the job I was doing. I bitched so hard about their customer service and told them one day someone was going to mess them up.. THE VERY NEXT NIGHT we go only to find out they were closed because some guy got pissed at the small amount of chicken in his dollar chicken quesidilla that he came back and attempted to throw a molotov cocktail in the drive thru window. It narrowly missed but burned the entire side of the drive thru. Lmao a week later those chicken quesidilla were STUFFED with chicken. Love that guy!

Truly a hero. TB bean burritos only get flatter and flatter (they're only beans and cheese, so it costs pennies to fill them, even in the current economy), and have always been small, and the price is absurd. They're also usually not even hot when you get them, they're lukewarm at best, so the cheese isn't even melted. I need one of those guys in my town.
There also used to be a Taco Time in my town, but they kept under filling burritos, while raising prices, and eventually everyone stopped going there and wouldn't come back, so it shut down. Not gonna lie, kind wish your dude came by instead, so we could still have the Taco Time, but have the burritos stuffed properly.

I work in fast food and just yesterday had a lady get mad at my coworkers and I because her mobile order was wrong. Not that the food was incorrect or anything, but because she was under the impression that she ordered more food items than what was actually on the order, and thought that it was OUR fault for that. She just couldn't understand that: SHE ORDERED THROUGH THE APP, ON HER PHONE, at no point in time did she speak to a worker about what her order is/was. How the hell was it OUR fault that she "didn't get what she ordered?" Even though she totally got what she ordered.

@@gokublack8342 I called the store for my food. It was very busy I was afraid of trying to park somewhere or risk losing my spot by the curb. I probably would've had to stand in a long line inside just to ask for my food again. I THOUGHT the drive thru was priority.
To be fair, if ever there was a time where being a Karen is justified, it's when a place that's supposed to get you your order within ~2 minutes takes an hour. No matter how Karen you go at that point, it's justified.

Mcdonalds is the worst for this. I have ordered a big mac meal, been told to pull up and wait, then see six cars go through the drive thru without waiting, just to have them bring me the wrong order after waiting. This is a regular occurrence at any Mcdonalds.
