Thank you so much for your detail explanation and reminder, it's very helpful for my trip in Italy after a week.

Thanks for the detail explanation! I got iliad sim card from the outlet in Roma Termini with the help from a staff. Very good value at €20. 5G speed in most area in Rome. I used it in London too and the speed went down to 4G. Highly recommended!

I’m an American and bought one in a Despar in a small Italian town. Didn’t know I couldn’t activate and now wasted my money. Live and learn!

Why were you unable to activate? Was this due to being a thirdparty? I will be going to Italy very soon and have found a few different simbox/kiosk locations that I plan to get my account setup at. I really want to make sure I am able to rely on getting this service.

Thanks for the video Travel Wiz. I also read your page on the simbox/kiosks. I understand I will need to have my passport and say their I choose Iliad phrase what I didn't see mentioned in your video or web post, or any other video for that matter is, do the kiosks ask for and allow for United States or other foreign to Italy residential addresses? I see some people saying they are able to get their sims activated and others in your comments saying they cannot. I really need to make sure I will be able to activate these sims at a kiosk. Appreciate any further information on what is required and accepted at the kiosks or stores for foreigners trying to activate.

Thanks for your informative video! My daughter is going to school in Italy for a year, and plans to travel to other European countries. It is looking like there are good options for her stay in Italy, but how do you know if the plan works outside of Italy? She needs phone to have cell service as well as a robust data plan for school. Thank you for any information!

Thanks for video. Do you know if Milan Malpensa airport has iliad terminals?

Do they have a prepaid sim for tourists? It doesn’t seem so. I’ve seen people complaining that they got a recurring fee when they were told the contact was only for one month.

There is no true prepaid in Italy. All plans can be recurring or one off (but the latter is often not set up properly for greed reasons) . I too got charged again after a month. Luckily, it was "just" 10 EUR, but I have steps to turn off auto renewal in my written Iliad review. I can link it

@@PhoneTravelWiz Thanks, the TIM and the WINDTRE look simpler to use. Do you know anything about LEBARA? They look too good to be true, with payg and free roaming! They use the Vodafone network, so they’re basically Vodafone with free roaming.

I don’t know how to cancel my contracts with Iliad. Someone has step by step?
