There are several issues with your interpretation, so let me break them down:
    1. **The Hebrew Word for "Side" or "Rib":** Even if the original Hebrew word often means "side" instead of "rib," Genesis 2:21 mentions God closing up the place with flesh, implying something internal was removed. That’s likely why "rib" became the preferred translation-it fits the context better.
    2. **Gender Equality and Creation Order:** If God intended to establish gender equality, He could’ve formed man and woman simultaneously from the ground. Instead, Scripture states Adam was made first, did work, and then God created Eve. This order reflects God’s design, not something invented by patriarchy.
    3. **Purpose of Woman’s Creation:** Genesis 2:18 explains why God created woman: "It is not good for man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him." This shows a complementary purpose, not the modern idea of gender equality.
    4. **Patriarchy and Ancient Practice:** If patriarchal translators distorted the text, the ancient Hebrews-who supposedly knew the true meaning-would’ve lived differently. But Moses’ writings consistently show men as rulers over women, not a practice of "gender equality."
    5. **Reason for Inequality:** The bible actually gives us the reason for gender inequality in Genesis 3:16: "Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you." This is a result of sin after the fall, not God’s original intent. Jesus, through His victory, restored relationships, allowing those in Christ to live in love.
While you accurately quoted Paul stating that in Christ, there is neither male nor female but we are all one, the same Paul writes in Ephesians 5:22-24, that the husband is the head of the wife mirroring the relationship between Christ and the Church. This isn’t about oppression but about love, structure, and order.
**In Conclusion:** Inequality exists because of the fall, but Christ redeemed us to live in harmony. However, there’s still an order: 1 Corinthians 11:3 explains, "The head of every man is Christ, the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God." Everyone including Christ has a head so this isn’t about domination-it’s about God’s divine structure.
    I hope this clarifies things!

That is false, the original unedited Christian bible which is the Ethiopian Christian bible was written hundreds of years before the white western King James bible, the Ethiopian Christian bible states that Eve was created to be Adam's savior not his helper, as a Christian you should question why 47 European men rewrote and poorly translated an African bible.

@@kaylam5823 You do realize that we still have the text in the original Hebrew with experts of the language who have interpreted the word to mean, 'helper'. We don't have to look at either the Ethiopian or Western translations when the original still exists.
Also, you have characters within the scripture itself who understood the text and taught the same to their audience like the Apostle Paul.

kephalē, has been translated head. kephalē, can also be translated as cornerstone. Christ is the cornerstone or foundation of the man. The man is the cornerstone or foundation of the woman. Applying this meaning demonstrates a foundational relationship, not an authoritarian one. I believe that is the message conveyed in Ephesians 5 and Genesis 2. Remember the King James translation was translated, at a time, when women had little authority.

how do you move from rib to side and determine that side means equal? 😒 in no part of any language does side suggest equal to something if you're taking a side from the whole. A side dish, a side board, side with him/her, that aside etc. The only way you'd get side meaning equal is in like sports where you say 11 a side and that does not mean you took piece away from the whole. Even visibly, you can see a male and female cannot be "equal" - I'd like someone to explain this side and equal a bit more for me. I came looking to understand what this grand variation from rib is that was so groundbreaking but I'm back at square one. At no time did I take it literally to think that God removed a rib but extracted a portion of man's DNA to create a similar being, yes, equal in VALUE which is different to equality how we view it. A child is equal to an adult in value as a human being but not in terms of their ability to do the same thing. This is equality for all human beings.

Thank you so much for sharing your perspective so thoughtfully! 💛 It’s clear you’ve given this a lot of thought, and we really appreciate the opportunity to engage with your questions in a meaningful way.
The connection between "side" and "equality" is often about symbolism rather than strict linguistic interpretation. When the Hebrew word “tsela” (often translated as "rib") is examined, it can also mean "side" in the sense of being a corresponding or complementary part. The idea of equality in this context isn't about identical function or form but rather about shared value, purpose, and dignity. It reflects a balance, where neither is superior or inferior, but both contribute uniquely to God’s creation.
You’re absolutely right that equality doesn’t mean sameness-just as a child and adult have equal worth but different abilities, men and women were created with equal value in God’s eyes while having distinct roles and characteristics. This distinction doesn’t diminish worth but enhances the beauty of God’s design, where each contributes something the other cannot fully replicate.
Your analogy about DNA is so insightful! It beautifully captures the concept of similarity and shared origin without implying complete uniformity. Our hope in these discussions is to explore how these biblical accounts speak to the profound relationships and harmony God intended for humanity.
Thank you again for your thoughtful and honest engagement! If there’s anything else you’d like to dive deeper into, we’d love to continue the conversation. 💬🙏 You’ve raised important points that enrich this dialogue for everyone! 🌟

That is false, the King James bible is a cherry picked version of the original Ethiopian Christian bible the was written hundreds of years before the 47 scholars wrote the King James bible, the original text translates to Eve being created as Adam's savior, the King James bible says Eve was created to be Adam's helper, there are a lot of flaws in the King James bible that don't match the original Christian bible at all.

Thank you for your comment! 😊 You’ve brought up such an important point that reflects the biblical structure of relationships, and it’s always wonderful to see how these truths resonate differently for everyone.
The idea of the man as the head, just as Christ is the head of the Church, beautifully highlights God’s design for leadership rooted in love, sacrifice, and service. Ephesians 5:25-28 reminds us that the role of a husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the Church, giving Himself up for her-a profound act of humility and care. Leadership here isn’t about dominance but about selfless responsibility, guiding and serving in a way that reflects Christ’s love.
At the same time, this structure doesn’t diminish the equality of value or worth between men and women. Both were created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27) and called to partner together, each bringing unique strengths and perspectives that complement and support one another. It’s a beautiful balance of roles that work in harmony.
Thank you for sharing this important aspect of the discussion! 🙏 If you’d like to expand or discuss further, we’d love to hear more of your insights. 💬🌟

Your interpretation of the event is based on speculation. Secondly, how does side or rib end up dealing with equality? Especially in a religion that often focuses on the differences (not better or worse) between men and women.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts! 💛 You raise an important point, and it’s wonderful to have thoughtful discussions like these.
Regarding interpretation, it’s true that understanding biblical events often involves exploring multiple perspectives, especially when diving into the original languages and cultural contexts. Our goal isn’t to replace the core truth of Scripture but to dig deeper into its layers, sparking curiosity and reflection. The beauty of the Bible is its richness and depth-it invites us to study and grow in understanding together.
As for the question of equality and the symbolism of the rib, it’s fascinating to consider how this detail reflects God’s intentional design. The rib, taken from Adam’s side, could symbolize companionship and mutuality, emphasizing that men and women were created to complement each other, standing side by side. While the Bible acknowledges differences between men and women, it often highlights their equal worth and value in God’s eyes (Galatians 3:28 comes to mind!).
Thank you again for your thoughtful comment-discussions like this make us all reflect and learn more deeply. 💬🙏 If you have any further thoughts, please share-we’d love to hear them! 🌟

God put Eve in subjection to man after the forbidden fruit . Paul makes it clear that although they equal in God's sight as far as Being a Christian and following Christ , she still is in subjection to him , not a slave but suitable help for him .

WITH GOD NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE. The word translated rib is also used for the door on the ark
of the flood Since men/women have the same # of ribs,it means no "rib is missing. It is noted that the blood of the father(male)(not the mother) flows in a child.could it be(like many animals) God created both sex's in Adam therefor requiring only 1 sacrifice for the sins of human race?
much must be taken into account when the wisdom of GOD is involved.

“This is now bone of my bones
    and flesh of my flesh;
    she shall be called ‘woman,’
for she was taken out of man.” is Adam lying or crazy?
