@mut I have built on trading posts before and you can connect various things from all around. there are also tricks you can use by adding wires. You can also connect panels to the flooring of the post of you established base close enough and connect a ton of other launch pads to increase the chances of an exotic spawning. Note: MUST be in a system with these keywords: Advanced Affluent Booming Flourishing High Supply Opulent Prosperous Wealthy Put a Cuboid room on top of the post. Place other flooring panels and use wires to connect others panels in the places you actually want them and then delete the unwanted panels regarding room building. If you also build a base in a flourishing system and spend frequent time at your base, you'll witness the exotic ships of that system spawn more than once. I have 3 mosquitos and an Orange Squid. 2 of the 3 mosquito exotics spawned close together at my trading post base. same ones - one gold/yellow, one red. I am saving the gold to trade if I run into a Korvax, Vy'keen, or Gek with an S class that only wants to trade and not allow me to buy. Trading hack, spawn a shit ship to trade (always keep 1 or 2 dogshit ones), quickly change your spending settings to free, trade it without loss, acquire your squid or mosquito, and change settings back...but that's if you wanna cheat. If you wanna build near a trading post just to build there then all power to you build wherever you want and ignore these tips, lol :D
⚠️Another tip for beginners please read ⚠️ You may notice numbers next to storage boxes and wonder what do they mean? Storage 1, storage 4 etc. Well basically all those boxes are the same storage in each one but they're universal. So if you put something in storage box 1 in one base. And place a storage box 1 in another base or freighter, all your items in that other base storage box will be in your base your currently in. The numbers just make it easier to remember which box is which but i like to rename them to be more clear.

Sort of like a city between two huge mountains.
Getting salvaged data isnt hard anymore, find a minor settlement, see if he sells salvaged data, if he does, use a save beacon, buy the salvaged data, save the game, reload, buy it again etc etc
After playing starfield.. I immediately ran back to nms per what someone above said. Crazy to think an indie dev team made this while an entire paid company with 100M behind their game hasn’t even scratched the surface that NMS has.
You forgot to mention that power can also be gained from electromagnetic hotspots. Useful for people like me who play on a PC that just barely meets the system requirements and crashes everytime I look at a large field of solar panels opening. 😂
I would say the best tip in this video for returning players or veterans is turning off power and crafting requirements for bases. Speaking as someone who comes back to the game every other year on average since launch, the unlimited base building aspect in normal mode has been one of the coolest new features to come back to. I have been having a great time just building a home base on a very cool planet for the last week.
Ok. I also agree that salvage data is a pain in the ass to find. So I have a quick way to get alot of them. If you don’t mind using a duplication glitch. Create a portable refiner. In order for the glitch to work, make sure you enable free placement. Then take the salvage data (the more data you put in the first time, the better) and put it in the refiner. Then build another portable refiner, and make sure it overlaps the first one. You can do this with multiple refiners. I use six. When you’re done building however many refiner‘s that you want to, then hover over it until you see the promt to either use the refiner or pick it up. Now hold down the button to pick them up, and if it works everything you’ve put in the first refiner will be duplicated as if it was in all of the refiner’s. And you can use this glitch for just about every item in the game.😊
Random tip. If you ever trying to build a timber house with multiple floors you may notice an annoying thing where second floor walls will have these see through lines appear on them. It's annoying if you build a 2 floor house and it messes up the windows. Well you gotta simply place another wall on top that second floor wall and the lines will go away to the top. Weirdly in the game it seems like some reason the walls change when there just below ceiling
Not sure if it's new to the update, but in the build menu, you can hover over the walls and click whatever button it is to reveal variants. Then just pick the one you want. The timber wall is designed with the "top" piece having those lines. If you change it to the "mid" option, it'll be a plain wall without having to add extra walls above your base.
Actually I found getting salvaged data super easy, despite being boring. Found a paradise planet and jet packed around for like 3 hours, didn’t even use an exo craft. Bought every blueprint and gave my excess away to random sitting down in the anomoly

You can find minor settlements that sell salvaged data. Just drop a save point, save, and reload. They will be restocked when you reload. Repeat as many times as you want.
Nah, I dupe because I have more fun actually using the items and building. You could say I should go on creative, but the satisfaction isn't there cause I want everything on my normal save.

Does anyone know who to contact for support in NMS? I tried zendesk already and still nothing. I landed on a space station and it crashed as soon as I landed. Every time I load again it crashes before I can leave.
I had the same problem with the controls especially flying. :) I've played creative mode for a week or two and that helped a lot. I felt I was missing out on some of the storyline and wanted a bit of a challenge (tiny) and restarted as relaxed. I'm really enjoying it now.

I have two walls crossing each other making an X (seen from above) and the roof if hovering over to the side of the walls. But the game seemed satisfied and said I have now a base. 😄 Also, why in the heck are the planets of a system all close to one another in this game? In real space if you're close to a planet you don't see the other ones, except like tiny dots in the sky. That bothers me. Oh and that planing tool or whatever it's called. They say you can change shape and size and I pull the trigger and there appears a big block of rock. Wtf is that? Thank you.
Does anyone know who to contact for support in NMS? I tried zendesk already and still nothing. I landed on a space station and it crashed as soon as I landed. Every time I load again it crashes before I can leave.
Reinstall the game
Its raining in my base. Anyone know how to stop it?
yeah but like, how do I recruit people
I really like this game but the learning curve and all the buttons is holding me back…I just purchased the game for PS5 (PSVR2) and for half price.
I had the same problem with the controls especially flying. :) I've played creative mode for a week or two and that helped a lot. I felt I was missing out on some of the storyline and wanted a bit of a challenge (tiny) and restarted as relaxed. I'm really enjoying it now.
Can Npc live in the settlement???
Nice video bro
New player here. What's the point of building a base?
i just wanna know how to open the build menu
Definitely a Maritimer!
Thanks for this video. FWIW, my GSD is black, but my beard is white. :-)
😂 I'm new to the game and my base is .... Under a trading post! Ok it's my first 4 X 4 base so only small.
I guess my next one I'll be moving up in the world.
Trading posts are a great spot and you can incorporate them into your base in really cool ways
Just dupe the salvage data... ask me how..
you you set the playback speed to 2x he sounds like ben shapiro
I just needed to know how to open the building menu 😭
Why doesn't he do more videos and music like this.. It's a vibe and I need more
Why do call this "Trading Post"?
That's misleading, the game calls this a Colossal Archive.
I will only duplicate 2 items in no man sky, salvage data and salvage frigate modules
1:20 1-4 not 2-4 FYI
Do the story line to unlock a bunch of blueprints and save yourself a lot of boring work getting salvage data.
refinery glitch will help you get more data for free
Why don’t you just duplicate salvage data?
If you dupe it, you might as well make it free to buy right?
are u canadian

When I learned there's building in this game it made it sound very fun, but hearing about the grind to unlock it is an absolute deal breaker. If you're going to make your game fun, make it fun. I already have a job, I don't need another.
You can literally buy the salvaged data at trading and if your gonna complain about the grind change the settings lmao
@@bostonarchie3194 what settings? You can disable this mechanism?
I’m pretty much only interested in a kind of creative mode.
@sombrero4316 if you go to the difficultly settings in the pause menu you can change it so you increase xp gains for standing level, free or reduced purchases and free crafting, along with reduced or no fuel costs. You can also change combat settings and a few other thing's
@@bostonarchie3194 thanks
