BDT depreciated against AUD by ~40-45% in the last 7 years. Inflation in Bangladesh has averaged 6-7%. That takes care of the difference. Adani is a private player and he is there to make profit, not provide subsidized rates. The fact that he has not demanded payment when Bangladesh is under IMF plan should alone be a reason for the country to rejoice and be grateful. Keep protesting and it will get more expensive. The deal was in public forum when it was struck, why not question then? Aside, Adani investors, beware! If GoI compensates Adani for this by Indian taxpayer money, it would be grossly unfair!
