@Matthew9203 The least common letter in the English dictionary is Q, so it could be that Q was the letter missed out in the blocks of 5, making the 4th block "PRSTU" and the 5th "VWXYZ". Therefore the 2nd letter of the 4th block would be R, and not Q. This was taken from the wikipedia article on letter frequency, which states: An analysis of entries in the Concise Oxford dictionary, ignoring frequency of word use, gives an order of "EARIOTNSLCUDPMHGBFYWKVXZJQ".

I can't find anyone else mentioning this, but Arthur was doing the proper code at 17:30 except you would count C and K as the same letter (C) instead of them both as individuals. You guys were on the right track!

@cyonated2095 I don't remember if there was a specific name for the technique/what it is called but I do know that what they were decoding was the "tap code" which is one of the codes that replaces k with c. Some codes replace C with S and K and some use C in place of K and S and some use K instead of C and Q and many more variations. It all depends on the code being used. (hope this helps, apologies if it didn't)

Can you explain how it was careful though only because the way he was doing it the second word would have spelt *caqeftk’ would it not or am I completely missing something haha
@Whyj6130 Yes, so using the code that they did it removes the letter k specifically so all of the numbers fit nicely in a 5x5 grid. The alphabet used has 26 letter so taking out k brings it down to 25 letters so it fits in the grid. after taking out the letter k, all the letters past k will shift backwards by 1. Example; K would be in column 3 row 1, now L would be taking that place. Further down the grid W would be in column 3 row 5, but since removing K it would go backwards into column 2 row 5.
So when spelling 'careful' they were not supposed to include the letter K in the grid which caused some of the letters to be pushed too far up, Q should have been R, T should have been U and K should have been L. C, A, and E were not affected because they come before K in the alphabet.

15:14 is a code called tap code if anyone was curious. my friend actually introduced it to me, there is a far easier way to decipher it, simply just searching ' tap code ' will show you the 5 x 5 square code translator needed for it. one thing I will say is some don't mention the fact that . ... ( 1 down 3 across ) is C/K. and can be changed depending on the sentence

11 months late but the reason why Arthur got a Q instead of an R is because it’s an old prisoner of war tap code, it does have a Z, the c and the k are the same, so there’s a perfect 5x5 grid, so after k, everything is ahead a number

That color picture is called a stereogram, and you have to let your eyes focus like if something is farther or closer in the picture.
