Just got my first of two shipments of 3 Megas each. Got Elly and Jackson Holliday (not the best centering) glitter parallels, really decent short prints, and the three relics were Yamamoto, Langford, and Trout. The Trout is not only "player worn" but "game worn" also!
I had the same collation of image variations in my first box! Wish y second matched yours. Congrats on Santa. Surprised you didn't get a Paw Patrol. I opened 2, that will be it for me. Enjoyed it, but got all I needed from that and 1 Advent Calendar. Sold the second one on ebay for 80, didn't wanna put over 100 on it. But probably tip for opening it easily: push down on the bottom and pull it open and slide the trays out. I wouldn't chance opening those little cardboard slits.
The only thing I don't like about all the changes this year is how they made all the SPs the same rarity. I loved three tiers of SPs and being able to read the code on the back to see if it was a regular SP or a super rare. Also, having 3 SPs in a box on average really takes away from it. I still love the product.
This year, the box has 5 silver cards, usually the 6th card in the pack. It has 3 short prints, usually the 5th card in the pack, (hats, light necklace, etc). There are not shorter short prints of these cards. You will get 1 blue foil "Silver parallels (none have variations or elf hats. (If you get an Elf Card, the card number, not the code number will start with HE-##. There are only 5 cards you can find an Elf Variation (case hit) and there are 5 different variations of each of the 5 cards. So, Wyatt Langford (1 of the 5 players with an Elf Variation) with an Elf has card number s HE-1, HE-2, HE-3, HE-4 and HE-5.
Do you know about holiday cards with a very light blue border? I have 2 cards H18 & H78 that have what looks like the same pattern but are very light blue (like maybe an ink issue during printing but just on the border?) They both have the same code as the normal cards and I cannot find anything in the variations list about this difference.
I only bought 4 of these and I need 2 to complete the base set. duplicate on the ornament and relic too :/ . I saw a video of the tin opening and major corner dings because of packaging so beware of that. Nice video as always. Side note, do you have a good recommendation on what to do with the buyback? Like good value for using the credit?
@midgat0 brother I found a shop that lets you redeem the buybacks for anything in the store. So we got all 2018 topps update packs. Look for stores that will allow you to get anything and try some new stuff
I saw that Dave and adams will accept then for credit to them too through online. My local shop has inflated prices all around. I see sometimes you can get good discounts at d&a
I thought this year there was not different rare varieties. Maybe the video I saw that mentioned it was wrong. Years past they did have different levels rare short prints. You would know more than me.
@@westernnycards I haven't seen any Elves pulled yet. To be fair I don't watch many other people. You channel is the only one I watch every video of. The hidden Elves are only on a handful of players so at least we can know which players to find elves on.

Had fun ripping this yesterday. Got a Jackson Holliday Elf, and Judge Relic. I was pretty happy with it. It was a lot of fun to rip it.

The hidden elfs variations are only made for 5 players. Holiday, Elly, Langford, Acuna, and Ohtani. They are a case hit; 1 in every 201 packs.

You are correct, there is no different rarities aside from the hidden elves variations. Those are SSP.

I think that’s what’s always turned me off with these cards is how aggressively holiday they are. Fun vid though.
