My uncle, a world class level guitarist, told me 50+years ago that the Philippines, top to bottom, had more singing talent than any other country on Earth. FTR, I am a retired, professional music critic, with 45+ years experience. Nothing has changed my thoughts, on what my uncle told me - the Philippines did and still does have more talent than any other country.
That's true Sir because the moment we open our eyes and can hear our mother loves to sing lullaby when they put us to sleep. At our very young age we already know how to sing even English songs. Not to brag but during my high school days all of us classmates are members of choir when we are bored we sing 😂. From high school to college i am a choir member

My wife is Filipino, we have a home there as well in the US...They can sing, it seems the majority of them from my experience. Our neighbors on either side of us just break out singing to the radio or just a cappella at random and they give chills because their voice is so strong.

Please don’t underestimate yourself bc you have a very full, low toned voice. You really need to sing and you’ll be surprised. In the Philippines, everyone encourages each one and it is a cultural thing. No one is ever, ever put down or criticized negatively.

This is so common here in the Philippines... They will not stop singging until they get a notice from our barangay captain to stop... Even though we have a municipal ordinance that singging here is only permitted to 8:00 pm. Still some of them will not listen and continue it till morning...

Filipinos do these fun challenges. Its already a given that we love karaoke. Every get together there's gotta be karaoke otherwise it'll be a dull affair. There's one time I went to the wake of a relative and just outside the home of my deceased relative is a karaoke machine blasting the entire time.
Speaking of mic sharing, there's this clip where SB19 was performing at this small venue and they had to share 3 mics between the 5 of them. It was like watching 3 card monty with mics. It was fun to watch because you can play a game figuring out when the mic passed from one member to the other. They worked the mic passing into the choreo. It was amazing to see.
im a filipino. i was in a choir when i was a kid. the trainer told me once that i have a terrible voice. it traumatize me and i never sang again :( i am alto. most songs we sing in the church are for sopranos and i cant reach high notes as it is.

It's normal for us to sing. Every household has a karaoke machine. Even in malls, there are karaoke machines there. Singing is just a part of our daily lives. When we were toddlers, we were taught how to sing. When you go to the Philippines, wherever you go, you can see or find very good singers! 🔥🇵🇭🎤

A majority of Filipinos can sing but I know some people who are off tune too hehe I know people who can only sing the songs they like but ask them to sing other songs and they can't . I read somewhere or heard somewhere that Filipinos tend to sing like the original singers of their fave singers. Most houses have a MagicSing microphone which has a built in videoke features. If not that they rent an actual videoke machinefor parties which all the guests can sing. Everyone is welcome even those who aren't that good. We just love to sing, other than smiling we are known for singing too. Its how we cope.

I am a Filipina and both my parents are really good singers but unfortunately there is something in my vocal chords that just cannot hit any note at all 😂😂😂. And to make it worse my husband (and his entire family) and our daughter can sing as well.
