I don’t think they realized that when in Off-Road mode, the throttle response is heavily reduced, to the point that 75% applied throttle is closer 30%. It’s supposed to allow for better throttle modulation and speed control off road. This can make the vehicle feel really underpowered if you don’t know what it’s doing. You don’t even have to be on a hill to see this. Try it on level ground and you can tell the difference between Off-Road mode and standard All Wheel Drive mode.

It's because the 2.7t was designed to be for RWD/AWD/4WD vehicles. The 2.5t is based off the 2.7t but designed to work with FWD/AWD models. The 2.7t has replaced the old 4.3 na (Silverado/Sierra) and 3.6 na (Colorado/Canyon). The 2.5t is replacing the 3.6 na for FWD based models. Sorry guys, but there are a lot of issues with this video. Among them is getting the specs of the engine wrong. HP is 328. The reason the throttle was barely responding is because you had it in Terrain mode, which reduces the throttle by a lot and increases engine braking to make it easier to crawl through rough terrain. I test drove one last year and I have the say, it's very underwhelming which is unfortunate because I do like the look of the truck. Can we get a proper engine, it's very sluggish
Instead of coming out with a Z 71 traverse as well as what GMC does with their Acadia AT4 I feel they should give a different but semi off-road because this is what that can be, but it isn’t a true off router. It doesn’t have good amount of clearance. It doesn’t have big enough tires and no low range as well. It should have a low and high range of 2 Wheel drive but no diff lockers that could be for AT4 they should have a Z 70 or an AT3 it gives you all the somewhat off road things you want a lift bigger tires, a all-wheel-drive four high four low and 2 wheel drive because the things that they put in these cars right here and called a Z 71 and so forth isn’t all that great. It should be a little bit better if they’re trying to push it to be a somewhat off roadie vehicle unlike other full on off-road vehicles, they should have a few levels to this from a 70, 71,72 and then maybe a new Z 73 What’s some more extreme off-road looks lights and such you know auxiliary connectors stuff like that for the Z 73 it’ll be super bad ass and then works up to a Z 74 just like how GMC‘s AT4 class can become because they have the ultimate AT4 and that’s cool and everything and that’s where I’ll top out at. They should just introduce these other Z 70s for the Chevy line and give a little more variety just a thought rant over.

Wow. Lacking in all areas. It will just sit there buzzing as the 4 popper tries to haul the family and gear anywhere beyond the pavement. Take the Z71 badge off that thing. It's a lifted station wagon. What a shame given it's great looks.
300+ hp 4 cylinders are also in Volkswagen/Audi/Porsche, Mercedes, BMW/Mini, Honda/Acura, Subaru, Ford, and probably a few others I'm forgetting. Toyota even has a 300 hp 3 cyl in the GR Yaris. 300+ hp 4 cyl have been the standard in WRC (World Rally Championship) for the past 20+ years.
First know what you are driving. This has twin clutch AWD and the HP and TQ was wrong that you stated and that you should redo the test because like one person said in the comments that the Off road mode reduces power so the tires don't spin so that why you had problems making over that rock when you said you had it pedal to the floor.
How about some enthusiasm guys. This minivan station wagon made it up all the modified hills and didn't get stuck. So you think it should have low range or lockers to be good? We all know thats not true... This should never have lockers or low range , but get the point. Excite yourselves. Sell this thing. It makes it better for everyone. You guys are prob wearing the same underwear, because, its the only ones you should wear. Wheres Tommy.
This package makes it slightly more capable than the standard AWD Traverse but it's not a serious off road CUV. It's not nothing new at Chevy, just like the "Eurosport" Celebrity and Lumina's 35 years ago handed better than the standard car but you wasn't going to Nuremberg in one...
I would never describe those tires as "All Terrain", but I might say they were "all weather"? That said, with the price of vehicles these days, there's no excuse for creaky cheap seats and cheesy easily bent and scratched interior trim. "Off Road" and AWD shouldn't be used in the same sentence, because you lack ground clearance AND low gears making this more of a Soft Roader and not an OFF roader. This thing needs a lift, low gearing, and proper all-terrain tires.
GM is diluting the Z71 badge with vehicles like this just like they did with the SS badge! Get it together GM, get back to your roots with these badges!

Actually more than two tons Case if it can tow 5 thousand pounds, actually 2.5 tons. 10:38 So what weighs more, a ton of Bricks, or a ton of Feathers? 11:42
I noticed the ends of the two screens are the same shape as the chrome trim on the center of the steering wheel.
Tumbleweed, nice.
My suggestion is to do more off roading driving please don’t think there was enough.
Onyx off road only supports apple car play?
I guess you could say it does ok off road because the customer base that will buy this will NOT take it off road.
Did you buy it? The headrest of the third row seat can not be put, put down will get stuck in the second row seat there, to wait for the recall, every car is like this, the official website says that there is no parts and other notice [laughing cry R]
That creaky interior is an absolute deal breaker. That kind of thing shouldn't be an issue on any vehicle of any price in 2024.
Why can't we have a metal bumper on an SUV, without two tons of breakable plastic out front?
I'm guessing crumple zones. They're made to cave in on serious impact to absorb some of the energy and not push a bunch of metal back toward the driver.
@@stephencooper3583 I'm guessing big plastic facia is for performative masculinity effect and not any scientific reason. The crumple zone is compromised of deformative metal .
The Z71 Cavalier is next!
Time for a Traverse ZR2.
9:00 oof. Between the 4 cylinder turbo and GM’s transmission track record, I’m not sure which will break first.
Such a off road pretender! Z71 in name only.
It does great for what it's meant for. Bang for the buck with all the other feature tuff to beat..
Z71 has always been more of a appearance package. Light duty AT tires, junk rancho shocks, a decal, and some skid plates.
You guys really need to cut that tall grass before driving over it like that (Like the area on the rocks course). If that tall grass gets up into the exhaust, it can easily start a fire.
Perfect for my wife ❤
My wife asked for a Grenadier 😂 The 35" tires might have been my modification 😅
@@lloydswartz7354 going to take possession of a fully loaded AWD LT leather Wednesday. I sure hope it’s gonna be a good one for her. I’ll stick with my 2nd GEN frontier for now.
the Traverse is way too long and way too underpowered to be considered a somewhat serious off roader. It's just got the look for it for the "tough guys", but this is not a real off roader like a Wrangler, Bronco or even a grand cherokee for that matter. I test drove one last year and I have the say, it's very underwhelming which is unfortunate because I do like the look of the truck. Can we get a proper engine, it's very sluggish
You said 318 & 316 tq. I believe that it has 328 & 326 tq. Watch your kids!!!!!😮😮😢😮😊
No trail cam?
Nice to see a traverse with some ruggedness
Would love to see this vehicle compared to the Honda Pilot Trailsport
@7:44
Same as the Jeep TJ 👍
328 HP - 326 LB FT TQ. 3.6L makes 310 HP - 266 LB FT TQ
I haven’t met anyone yet that actually likes those red trim pieces! Why would they do that!? 😖
It’s shame they don’t have blazer to fit suv off roading
The horsepower and torque mentioned is wrong!
Rental car fleet managers can’t sign the purchase orders for these fast enough.
Surprising how much less capable this is than the Pilot Trailsport. The Pilot has more interior people space too.
Chevy has gone the way of fleet sale quality for all since i was in high school in the 90s. The lot was full of products that could create a lifelong brand fan. Then one day the camero's and ss impalas were gone. No more bright yellow Zr2's just front wheel drive fleet quality junk or a corvette i couldn't afford. I want my t tops and bob seager back 😅
It looks cool but I doubt it will clear anything.
its a road queen
Like the men who choose to drive it.
Wow. Lacking in all areas. It will just sit there buzzing as the 4 popper tries to haul the family and gear anywhere beyond the pavement. Take the Z71 badge off that thing. It's a lifted station wagon. What a shame given it's great looks.
Wow 300+ hp from a 4 cylinder 😮
And you know it will last for 100's of thousands of miles without any issues.
@@zachlafond2652lmao. I love your sarcasm

@@nikhil.k8938 oh i had to google it. The Roxx. Interesting. Surprised these aren’t catching on more.
Appearance packages don’t make it an off-roader .
What a total joke....Z71 means nothing.
How about accepting the truth and not trying to be a shill? Oh, and the insults lay bare your true character.
GM has had 4 decades of poor decisions and piss poor management. It shouldn’t be a surprise at this point any longer.
Toyota is doing the same thing with their TRD badge.
looks like they tried to make it look like a toyota in the back
Where's the g80? You can't have z71 without a g80
it has more advanced twin-clutch rear diff, in theory it's better than G80 coz it can vector all torque to one wheel that has traction, instead of 50/50 half slip like G80 locker
Nobody is taking this off-road with hardly any ground clearance
😂 to the floor and it won’t go
Trade it in for a Suburban
Suburban is like $20k more, way less fuel efficient and barely more capable off road. I'd only get that if you absolutely need to higher towing capacity.
no low range, no bueno.
5,000lbs is 2.5 tons.
Here we go with the "mall crawl" comments, buy the Tahoe/Silverado/Colorado Z71 for this masculinity guys wanna show off..
Considering that the main buyers of this vehicle are overwhelmingly female, they are likely never even driving it.
