Have you done a video on flush setting diamonds using the hammer hand piece? I just purchased it & im getting ready to set 10 3mm diamonds in 2 gold bands that I made out of our old gold pieces for our 50th anniversary.. and would LOVE some helpful tips. FYI: I’ve been practicing with copper bands & CZ’s. Not bad but I want better before moving on to the diamonds & gold. Thanks 🙏

I think it is actually a good video and if you know some jewelery setting principles you may understand what the instructor is talking about, the problem is how shine the metal reflections gets because the amount of light. Probably to the teaching puorpose might be good to tray with color stones or something that doesn't cost to much reflection.

It's called an Allset you can find it through all the normal jewelry sites, Riogrande has it for about $400 for the master set.

Couldn't hardly see anything under the microscope. I higher dynamic range camera would help and actually turning the light down a bit would help also. But I'm guessing Foredom doesn't read the comments, they already got things figured out. Cool tool but takes the journeyman skills out of it and makes it arts and crafts.

Cool tool, but it seems like an awful lot of work. With just a little practice, hand eye coordination can do the same thing with traditional burs and setting methods.

Only good if gems are exactly the same diameter and girdles are the same thickness

I’ve been a bench jeweler for almost 30 years and I would never use this. Your hand is much better than this contraption.

This tool is a real manure...

Instructor needs to give an overview first then take his first piece, show the camera the individual piece, then show where it goes onto the other piece, explain how he's going to attach it, then attach it. NOT "Hello, I'm Jeff Mathews, now the first thing we're gonna do is loosen the set screws...." The set screws on what? Worst instructional video I've seen in awhile. If you want to sell your product, learn to teach. It's one thing to know how to do something, but it's totally different to be able to teach someone how to use it.

This is the worst tool which I had to have. Made disturbed, roughly.

Its better to buy a machine which can automatically set stones without even moving a finger 😆

I have this tool. The idea is very good, but the quality, as it is made, is just shit. The thread on the tool is made large and from the slightest vibration everything is twisted. Need very fine carving, then it will work. I do not advise anyone to buy this tool. Why make money for trash?

One of the primary rules of any demo is... DO NOT ADD MUSIC!!!!
You ruined a valuable and great demo with the addition of useless, irritating, ear-abusing noise that passes for music in your book. WHY??? Sheer stupidity to do this. Now I can turn it off and miss your instructions, or leave it on and watch my irritation soar and ears hurt. Sheer stupidity, DO NOT ADD MUSIC. EVER.

Thank you for your input. Yes this video is a bit dated! This video is fairly old and even-though it is about a discontinued item we leave it up for those that still request information and use it.

I was going to reply that it’s a 10yr. Ood video; and that was common technique to do. It’s quite extraordinary there was a response from the host; and a cordial one at that. I’m only five minutes In and video is still holding my interest. Thanks again
