DID YOU KNOW??
AJ Foyt raced his Ford four-valve V8, "Coyote", to victory in both the 1967 and 1977 Indy 500s.
The Coyote Engine was named after his car!
I have a question is all the gt mean they are have coyote engine because I'm looking for one now but I see some of them they say has coyote engine and that's actually made me confuse ,is all of them coyote or it's different than the gt and I'm talking about the 2015 and up
@@مسلسلالهَيْبةَ-ق5ثif it’s from 2011 and up they are all coyotes. Either gen 1 ,2, or 3
Ford nailed it with their 5 liter V8's my ten speed 5.0 Mustang is doing mid 6'on 60 to 130 pulls and still NA! I am saying goodbye to my ten speed 5.0, but I'm finally getting a GT500. It's bittersweet for sure.
10 speed, bad decision
@@markgt894what’s better, the mt82?🤣
@@thatsshane_ the gearing on a pedal bike is better than the 10 speed 😆
You lucky bastard. LOL.. I rolled my fox body Mustang, ending up trapped in the backseat like a sardine in a can (which saved my life since the rest of the roof got crushed into the front seats, just not the back seats. Yeah, Not wearing a seatbelt actually saved my life in that wreck. How I made to the back seat is completely beyond me, since you couldn't get in the back seat even with the front seats moved completely forward. Pretty sure that's true of all Mustangs. lol). And why adding a roll cage can also bring peace of mind to those who cannot drive 55.. As I'd like to not do that ever again. lol. (and haven't, so far. lol) Stay safe, but most of all enjoy my friend!
Started with a SOHC 4.6L 2000 vert, moved to the DOHC 4.6L 2003 mach 1, now enjoying the hell out of my 5.0L 2020 GT. This engine is a monster and I can't wait to keep toying with it
the coyote is definitely the best american engine on the market. I just dont like ford cars. the s650 is changing my mind though. its a good deal as car prises rise.
Nice summary! Great video like always!
Gen 3 revs like crazy love it
Weight to ratio makes coyote a force to be reckoned with! Mustang has to be lighter than some of the competition!?
Put the supercharger or turbo(s) on and someone’s having a bad day!😅😂😅😂
Anyone who owns the new direct injection Coyote engine should install oil catch canisters replacing the PVC valves which do nothing for the reliability and longevity of an engine. You will be glad if you do so. It's a small price to pay for the benefits obtained.
I nearly bought a new 2017 GT 6MT. Glad I waited and got the more powerful 2021 with a 10 speed and performance package.
Same with me but it would’ve been a lot of car for me I was a sophomore in high school and was going to get a 2017 model stick shift as well and performance pack but glad I didn’t and picking up a 2020 Gt this morning it’s $39,500 it’s got 7k miles hopefully it all goes well it’s just a 301a package
@@chrissanchez9218 I hope it goes well too. Congrats my man 🤝
Cant beat a stick…
Love the gen 3 mustang
I love my 2017 Mustang gt, the gen 2 is a beast. Won alot of races with that car.
Gen 2 👍
Great video as many have said. Very informational.
Over 400 HP in a naturally aspirated 5.0 liter engine is just crazy. But one thing this coyote engine shows: that making an engine more "efficient" is how you get more horsepower while also increasing gas mileage which also reduces pollution. If you keep your foot off of the accelerator pedal that is. lol.
I love my Gen 3 Coyote
Same, that velocity blue pop especially in the sun
My Merc puts out 404 hp stock it's a 4.7 - stage 1 tune bumps to 550 - stage 2 allegedly 700+
Ford > GMC tho, all day all night
Gen 2 🚗💨🎶🎶🎶🐎🐺🐺🐺
If putting supercharger it will be smashing.
Gen 3
Do I need to install an oil catch can on 2020 mustang Gt?
It would only benefit you I would do it if it was mines. And change the oil every 3k miles
@@anthonymarinelli9224 just got it yesterday and has 7k miles and was thinking of doing it every 4k miles but probably 3k cause I know I’ll drive it pretty hard and I’m about to order an oil catch can rn
@@chrissanchez9218 yeah that’s A smart move I had a 2018 focus I did the oil every 3k miles it never had a problem before getting totaled at 74800 miles
@@anthonymarinelli9224 the mustang is my first ever sports car got the 10 speed auto cause the mt82 are weak trans. Kinda got this sick feeling in my stomach cause monthly and insurance is a lot of money I don’t make a lot so I have to be smart with my money but I’ll definitely be buying quality parts for the car no doubt about that
@@chrissanchez9218 I feel u should have waited RN is the wrong time to buy a car used or new
So the coyote engine copy the Ivtech Of honda ?
The ogee coyote
i miss my 91 5.0
Im sorry the gen 2 s550 is the best looking mustang since the foxbody
I would take the 13-14 any day. Both don't look like Mustangs and the gen 2 looks flat and too much plastic. 😂
@rickitysplitz7035 well when you get one let's line them up, you will have different opinion
The Coyote is the engine that will always be trying to catch up with the LS and LT powerplants. Good luck.🤭
I know that's right!
All 3 Dodge, Chevy, and Ford make amazing V8's that all trade blows depending on what's been done to them, that's all it is and ever was. the 5.0 is DOHC instead of pushrod and more modern design People forget the gt500 motor is only 5.2 liters making the power Chevy and dodges 6.2 6.4 and higher make, Ford also makes V6's now that compete with these V8's. I'm not an ecoboost fan whatsoever in fact they annoy me, but the Ford GT's V6 motor makes 700+hp not bad.
Until it goes against a red eye with performance kit.
900 HP.
Kinda ticked at Mopar they have a dealer installed mod, that bumps up 100 HP.
Nothing for the hemi trucks.
But for a car that already has 803 let's make it faster😂
Love my Coyote

I love my gen 2 coyote it’s a big jump from a FBO two valve!!!😂😂😂
Me too…So technically I guess we have a Boss motor😎..
I started with a 4.6 1996 GT, I love my second generation coyote.
I love my Gen 2 but I'd love to have the port injection of the Gen 3 as far as keeping the carbon in check but you never can keep up with tech.
IMO the Coyote engine is doing for Ford what the small block engine has done for Chevy.
My 2017 Lexus GSF makes 467 hp
As a owner of several 4.6 cars I love my gen 3 coyote. It's getting boosted in the next week or so
Actually it's incorrect that the Coyote comes in only one displacement. The Voodoo engine is a 5.2L flat plane version of the Coyote and is similar to the Coyote.
Thanks for that. Very informative and interesting.
thx .answered my question exactly..
its 2022 july and had never heard of a coyote engine..
very interesting..
Nice video . Good info
I love my gen 3 coyote
I would like the have the coin so I could put one in my Explorer.
I thinking about the new ford coyote single cab that can get in 10s
Price is not bad either.
1:28 Sounds like it’s mod compatible but not in itself a fully modular engine.
So every Mustang GT has a Coyote engine?
@3.31 So the gen 3 has both port injection and direct injection?
So no risk of carbon build up on the valves with Gen 3 Coyote ??
Probably "less" of a risk since the injector isn't placed directly over both intake valves in each chamber.
@@rreno496 So the real question is, with the Gen 3 is a catch can still necessary??
@@scotttracy9333 I did get one with mine. Still catches those bypass vapors and gets oil at the bottom of the can. Just a safe piece of mind
@@scotttracy9333 I run one and it does still catch oil. It’s not a ton but every little bit I keep out of the intake is a good thing.
@@rreno496 I've ordered a Mustang GT and waiting for it to be built. First mod was going to be a catch can, but this video got me doubting the need.
However, sounds like it's a good idea to have one anyway
How about an updated vid to the current 4th gen coyote v8?
Ford has Vtech!!!!! Variable Valve Timing ❤
Japanese technology!
Excellent info
Do they come in Automatic?
Yes but learn to drive stick. You’ll thank me later
