Luv'in my Helios!!! Absolutely, the BEST old school Plexi with crazy amounts of pre-amp gain. With the EQ off it's pure pre-amp Brown Sound bliss! Not a tight modern amp. Helios is a pure vintage feeling amp. It forces you to become a better player.

I bought one, armed with a stock 57 gold top reissue from 94, and a Helios Bogner 4x12 greenback and vintage 30's configuration...in ivory. It's a leviathan...in sound and physical size. As far as guitar gear goes...one of the best decisions I've made. It has this organic warm resonance. The plex channel insert is where I spend most of my time, the HOT input gets a visit each session. Such a cool vintage kind of feel to this guy. Its the Marshall that Marshall never built, and it's got the Bogner DNA. Brilliant amplifier.

+Robin Strower I would get one, but I wish it just had one input. In the hot mode, the clean gets a bit dirty. If one input did it all, I'd buy one right now.

Bray amp sounds a bit more musical in the mid gain. The Helios sounds versatile but I'd still take the Bray 45/50

disclaimer: for any/all new guitarist...these cats demoing this amp could make
a crate sound killer..tone is in your fingers..but having a bogner makes the ride so much easier :=)

I have an ecstasy that I like better, but if nailing the exact Plexi deal is your thing, this is totally the amp. A little too spitty and Ice Picky for me. Just like a plexi though
