I remember when we went to Germany on vacation in 2013 and my brother became a whole new person

No African alive today has ever called the police on their parents. We just don't do it. As we don't have anyone alive to tell the tale if how it all went down. Sooo relatable, I'm congolese and i remember one time my lil brother came home late and my mom started questioning him about where he's been, he started giving disrespectful answers to her, she didn't had Time to respond that my older brother jumped on him slapped him, and my cousin took his phone broke it down( she said that that's what made him arrogant) and the rest of us kept laughing at him cause he was just making himself ridiculous, he had never done that again. So yes it takes a village to raise a child.
