Hello and thank you for this video. I have some questions about the current and voltage so I hope to find the answers here. Let's say I have a stunt/display saber, so no soundboard. In hilt TriCree or a string blade (I know, old technique, but nevermind) and the current needed is about 2.5 A. In that case the switch should be arround that amperage? I found a momentary switch, nice silver, round bezel etc. rated 3A at 220v. That 220v. I don't understand. Will be that switch overkill for lightsaber? Put in another way: what max.current (and voltage) should have a latching switch for a 2.5 or 3 A stunt saber? Thank you.
most stunt sabers use these latching switches to power the in hilt led: www.thecustomsabershop.com/SPST-Latching-Guarded-switch-with-silver-button-P255.aspx
@@MegtoothSithSabers Thank you very much. There's only one (quite big) problem: I live in Romania, so shipping fron U.S. to Romania is expensive. For the main parts (hilt extensions, poly blade etc) I will buy from a closer location (jqsabers). Some other parts are available where I live (that latching switch I was talking, wires, battery holders, rechargeables etc.). Or maybe I buy all I need from one vendor. Thank you.
not sure which switch youre talking about, but digikey, mouser have pretty much most switches on earth. the custom saber shop in tge us and www.thesaberarmory.com in uk also have many switches.
could you send me a 2-way momentary switch wiring diagram? For my Hasbro Darth Maul double saber project, I want each of the sabers two red buttons to be daisy-chained for power on/off as a two-way switch with either tactile or 12'mm button. I will be using Proffieboard. I can compensate for the info.
@@MegtoothSithSabers and do u know if i need to program an aux switch to the verso board or it have a default config right out of the box ? and do yu have any tutorial about aux switch wiring ?
@@b.h9186 You dont need an aux switch on verso, but you can have one. An aux switch is wired just lije powee switch, except one lead goes to aux pad. "does it matter which one is ground or which one is switch? No, either works" THAAAAAANK you for that confirmation. a great tutorial AND its in 2020.
Your craftsmanship and effort to help the community are both appreciated! Cheers sir!
This is so incredibly helpful. I wish I had this explanation when I first found the hobby.
Glad it helps!
Thank you, this was super helpful!
Fantastic info, thank you Tom- made clear a lot of things I simply didn't know, brilliant!👍🏻

TCSS dosnt give specs, but check specs on your cree and then make sure the switch can handle the juice. Tri crees dont draw great amperage.

I got a MS and I can't wait to finish my NBV3 install.
If I want to connect the negative and the ground together on the illuminated switch can I use resistor tail?
yes
Very helpful video!!!! Thanks so much!
youre welcome, hope you make use of it!!!!
Do the poles have any labeling on them @ time 5:35? or are the poles interchangeable being the switch and negative as long as you don't mix them up?
On the switch poles, there are no labels, either can work for gnd or switch.
If you watched to 8:32, that was answered!!!!
Is it possible to change a momentary switch with a Tactile switch? I am trying to wire my MPP 2.0 Parks and it comes with a tactile switch.
Tactile and momentary switches are the same, a latching switch is differen5
What the heck is a PCB pixel switch? If you have an idea about how or what that does please send me any info. Thanks Meg !
a switch which has neopixel lighting it. Should have 5 poles. pixel negative, pixel pos, data, switch lead, switch ground
Ok ya then the pixel would have to be wired like your neopixles and controlled by your board the same. Thanks👍
Where do I get these with a rounded base?

What is the switch called you showed that you buy in bulk?
tactile momentary switches with varying hat lengths.

using stock lqtching switch, or are you swapping for momentary?
Thank you very much : )

do you know what kind of swich the verso uses?
momentary, wired pull down

I noticed that the only kind of switch you didn't cover was the Touch Switch, I can't seem to find a tutorial on how to do it properly.
capacitance switches are covered on proffieboard pages, as well as tra. I dont use them because theyre a pita to set up.

sweet.
What switch should I use for the red button in a Graflex? First time trying this out and want to get it right the first time.
Which graflex? korbanth 2.5, 89 sabers, etc. Which hilt makes a huge difference.
It’s for a 2.0. I got a plug and pay set up for a 2.0. Everything but the switch. And wanted a red button operating set up like in TFA
