    Good video. If the ends of the rolls of turf are not square, overlap one roll end onto another by about 2 inches. Then cut through both mats of turf with a long knife. Throw away the trimmed ends and you should have two straight edges to join together.

    I liked your video as it confirmed most of my ideas on how I will proceed. One thing I would like to mention is that you did "brick" your sods but you didn't actually make mention that this is what should be done. By "bricking" I mean overlapping the sods as though you were laying bricks in a wall. Overall well done though....hope my DIY turf project comes out as good as yours :)

      The preparation is the same for sewing grass seeds and laying turf. If you can, try and leave the area for several weeks so the rain gets on it and the ground settles 😊

    How long do you leave the sprinkler in one area before moving to the next? Thanks.

    • @bandq
      @bandq  25 дней назад

      Hi there, you'll need to ensure the water is soaked all the way through to the soil below before moving the sprinkler. Remember not to walk on your new turf until it's well rooted, which can take at least 2-3 weeks 😊

    How often should we water the turf for the next few weeks? 🥺

    • @bandq
      @bandq  Месяц назад

      Hello! Depending on rainfall we would recommend watering as soon as possible after laying the turf. Water daily for the first two weeks, then reduce watering to 2-4 times per week after that. Making sure to water it enough that it soaks into the soil below. Hope this helps! 😊

  • @Pauly171
    @Pauly171 2 месяца назад

    Hi,
    Can you lay the new turf the same day as prepping the soil and applying new top soil?
    I've seen a few different answers, and im not sure which is correct?

    • @bandq
      @bandq  2 месяца назад +1

      Ideally you should wait between 1-3 weeks between preparation and laying the turf to allow the topsoil to settle. Watering the topsoil is also recommended before laying. Ensure that once turf is delivered, you lay it within 24 hours as waiting longer is detrimental to the turf quality. Hope this helps! 🌱

    Can you lay a new lawn roll on top of the old one or does it need to be removed first?

    • @bandq
      @bandq  3 года назад +1

      Hi, it's not something we would recommend, as it will prevent the new turf from rooting properly. Once a new roll of turf has been put down, you need to water the turf thoroughly, making sure the water soaks right the way through to the soil below because it's got to be moist enough for new roots to grow down. Hope this helps 😊
