Tatiana Maslany is an award winning actress who has appeared in movies such as The Vow, Picture Day and Eastern Promises. She has also appeared on TV shows such as Flashpoint, Cracked, Alphas and Heartland.
Jordan Gavaris has appeared in numerous productions, including 2010's Unnatural History, Degrassi The Next Generation and was named one of Playback Magazine's Top Ten to Watch for 2010.

I am english and could tell that Sarah's english accent was just acting but oh my god i was not expecting Felix to not actually be english!!!! XD
pikapanda64 Yeah Tatiana's fake english accent is pretty bad TBH, I laughed a lot because she sounded australian most of the time LMAO. But Jordan always sounded LEGIT english. I mean seriously! When I found out he was not English I was like WHAT.
liveyourdreams111 yeah at first i couldnt really tell where she was from, i thought Australia too. But then from Felix's accent i figured she was English. But to be fair her accent has gotten so much better- it could just be that I'm used to it
+liveyourdreams111 Well you have to remember that she is playing a character that was born in the UK, raised by an Irish woman, and lived most of her life in Canada, so her accent is influenced by all these things. It's like a weird mix. I think she tries to take that into account.
The first time I heard it, it was in a short clip. He was saying, "It's Delphine. She's got baggage." That's as fake as he ever sounds, but unfortunately, it did sound a little fake to me, so I knew from the start.

oh my god i thought Jordan was actually British, his accent is so great and a lot like some east Londoners accents :-)

Her British accent some times has a little Australian twang but his is pretty good.
Jordan is an amazing actor. Never wouldve expected Felix to really be him.
I think Cosima has the closest voice to the real voice of Tatiana Maslany, all of her other clones sound really different (it's more than the accents too) :)

awesome interview, I love how passionate they are and it really shows on screen just how talented they really are. Tat especially is phenomenal to watch and gives me chills everytime I watch her, and I rarely get that feeling watching an actor. She was clearly made to do this job
i just watched the first episode of Orphan Black as it came out late in the UK... and I can confidently say that I have finally got a show that I can look forward to... :) And I will add that the accent is super-awesome!

Lol of course they can. Many do. Uma Thurman, Drew Barrymore, Daryl Hannah, Winona Ryder, Brad Pitt...part of acting. You gotta be able to switch up to anything and play any role.
Tasha Dillard never heard any of them do an English accent, but i'll take your word for it as I don't watch a lot of films. tbh I've heard a lot of terrible accents but never many good ones from non-brits from English speaking countries
Mmm yeah it's hard to pull off. I can usually tell when an American is trying to pull of an English accent. Only few can do it convincingly. A lot of people from other countries can pull off American accents pretty good though , ironically lol

I know it's been said before but holy shite Jordan's voice!! I thought he was English, his accent is so impeccable. They both do an unbelievable job. I can't name another show where the acting comes close to this one.
It's funny that I thought her German accent as the German clone was the only one of all the accents that was a bit off, only to find out that she actually speaks German, being a German Canadian.
So true haha. I watched the scene with the german clone and I was like: I think thats not the german accent we germans have when we speak english. I mean I really hope so haha. But I wanna watch the show in english too cause I don' t hear all these different accents tatiana is doing what all these people are talking about

I think, this is one of the best (if not the best) interview of the two I've seen so far.
I'm more than willing to wait a year for season 2. Jordan and Tatiana are so talented and put so much work and time into their art.

I really, really liked their answer on the question about cultural background of the characters. As an immigrant who used to live in the States, and who now lives in the UK, I really wish people who are native to a given country would have the same understanding of "outsiders" as Tatiana and Jordan have, because what they are saying is spot on!
oh my god! I had no idea this was a Canadian show until I went on imdb and saw that almost everyone's Canadian! Probably the best show Canada's produced haha LOVE OB! :) It's so weird listening to them talking in their normal accent lol So glad it's been given a chance for a second season :D

I love the two of these people! They seem so genuine and they have sound advice for people who want to get into acting. Was so disappointed that Jordan wasn't English though lol!

well the show is Canadian and is based in Toronto with only like 1 or 2 characters actually from the states or Britain so.. it's no real surprise xD

Evelyne Brochu's first language is French, but she is perfectly bilingual to the point of not having an accent when she speaks English. This is an interesting situation in that her English is so good, that she has to deliberately put on a French accent for her character. Read her bio.
We can tell you that she puts A LOT of time into each script. In our chat, she did mention the difficulty in stepping into multiple roles. How she does it, is the beauty of ti. She is a very talented actress!

Their advice at the end was so great! It can be applied to anything really! I am an undergrad with dreams of getting a PhD and every once in a while I fall out of love with my subject just bc it's hard and complex and academia is a lot of pressure. But it's okay! And I have to have interests/a life outside of it. Awesome people, these two.
Wow.. what jordan said about getting tired of the job hits right through.. not just for actors, but for artists in general. I've been getting that feeling recently as a graphic designer. *sighs* But I'm not quitting.. just need to take a break.

Orphan black's cast is so amazing, they act so great, they should make a movie of the Orphan Black.
The show's amazing so far. The latest episode blew my mind. Tatiana's does such a great job portraying all those characters, they all feel unique in their own way. Call me crazy, but the soccer mom is my favorite for some reason ;) And Felix is just so much fun to watch.

That's so strange to me, I knew immediately. But maybe you're just from an area unaware of the accent. I have been asked if I'm Australian before so there might be a slight hint of it as that's what most people confuse her accent with. It's definitely an English accent though :)
