I love these animals so much, they bring me so much joy .. I got one recently and it saved me also, I wish to be as knowledgeable and as resourceful as you are but hopefully one day I’ll get there
One thing that might help you is well I saw a video because I might be getting my first 2 sugar g anyways😂with the toe trimming is there’s these things birds use to trim their nails with so you can put it in your cage and you will never have to trim their nails again I hope that helped and if that doesn’t I’m sorry I haven’t tryed it but I saw a video❤
mine, no joke, lives in my closet. She found a travel hand bag 6 years ago this month and never looked back. I live a condo, so she is free to roam at night while I sleep. If you are lucky enough to keep them cage-free, they are super smart if you train them. Mine has been for 6 years. You should be good. That's not to say it's been perfect, but just be safe. For food, she just eats corn and some snacks. I'm not saying this is too much, after all pets are like kids, but you don't need freezer space, that's for sure. Just find a food they like and stick with that.
They LOVE corn! You might want to ask your vet, though, if it’s ok to let her have it all the time. I have read that it’s only to be used as a special treat, and too much isn’t good for them.
@@85mustangjenn I personally cover it up during the nighttime because they get distracted and bark at stuff, but I think a lot of people do it during the daytime to block out the light. It might just be preference but I’m not sure.
I love how detailed this video was and I’m a new subscriber! I want to learn as much as possible and feel like more videos like yours and how detailed will help a lot! Thank you!
I’m not a new glider Mom & I learn something new all the time! Now I need to go through my cages & get rid of the stuff that may be harmful to my gliders, I have 8 boys
I love the bloopers! I think that's so cute that you did that!!! I am a new glider Mommy and this video is so helpful. Do you have any videos specifically on health care/hygiene and diet or could you go more in depth on your first aid emergency kit, what's in it and what you use everything for? My husband brought 2 home for me and our boys as a Christmas present it was such a surprise. I knew nothing about them prior to this so I really need all the information I could get but they're rehomed. He got them from a lady and they came with everything tons of stuff there's a couple things I noticed in your video that I want to get that they didn't come with but we got very lucky with the amount of stuff that they came with. I am definitely going to check out all your other videos though and I really appreciate you making these videos and I hope that you continue to make them. You are an amazing glider Mommy!! I am obsessed with your cage though I have one big cage but I would like to combined another one to make it big like yours. Did you say you had a video showing how to do that?
I was just gonna comment to people that are looking for a place to buy from and are willing to travel (or not if you live close) the Tennessee flee market sells sugar gliders and all essentials for 400$ in total I haven’t bought yet but am looking forward to this summer
I can not recommend getting gliders from a flee market. They more than likely are from mill or backyard breeders and the supplies included can not be sufficient for their needs and more than likely are unsafe at that price.
Oh ok thanks for informing I have been saving for that and I will definitely ask them where the sugar gliders are from. But thank you dearly for telling me this
You do great videos Kimberly. But I wanted to share this with everyone so nobody does or goes through what I did this past morning of Black Friday. I watched a lot of videos, read a lot of books, looked up a lot of info online, as well as got as much info from the breeder as I could. (And he had 17 yrs exp) And NO WHERE did I see that unfiltered tap water is TOXIC to sugar gliders due to spikes in chlorine levels and other chemicals. Black Friday I woke up to a noise under my bed. So I went to go check on the suggies... And they were both laying on the bottom of the cage in full rigor.😭 They were fine the day before.😭 But I did notice that they were eating less and less. Until they weren't even eating any Yogi's. I thought that one was getting tired of mealworms.
I am so sorry for your loss. Water us such a debated topic and I am so sorry that is was not brought up to you in your research. I personally use filtered water that I boil and store in a glass container. Thank you for sharing and again so sorry for your loss!
Hello I'm Gregory and I'm new to your channel and I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the information about gliders cause I really wanted to get two little girls but I didnt really know how to take care of them and to bond with them they look like a whole lot to take care of them properly until I started watching your channel so now comes my question is there a easier way to take good care of them like food and cages and toys? To make taking care of them a little easier for me any information is very highly appreciated thank you so much for making your channel so informative
Thank you for the kind words. There is no quick answer about this. The three hardest things are handling/ bonding, diet and cleaning. I have videos on all of those topics ♥️
Hi, your videos help a lot of us who want Sugar Glider. I’m planning to buy SG but need to know what they need first. Don’t know how to start & hope not too expensive for the things the SG needs. 😅
Hello I'm getting a pair of sugar gliders this weekend and looking at things for them. I noticed the blue food swing thingy at 2:48 and I was wondering where you got that? I've been trying to find it for a few days now lol
Hi Kimberly I really need your help please about the sugar gliders as well as cage . equipment for cage sizes , food bowls, pouches, mits an so forth. please Kimberly help me.;
So I travel in an rv once a month - and considering this as a pet.. would a travel cage be too small even if I let out when we are at stops?? And use bonding pouch while driving? ? I’m am looking for an attached pet next time.. and my daughter thought this is one that would fit me..
A few Things to consider 1. depending on where you are traveling to some states are illegal to have sugar gliders in 2. you definitely need more than one Sugar Glider for the sugar gliders well-being and mental health 3. it depends on the temperament of the sugar gliders if they are not overly anxious, they would probably do fine on short trips traveling, but some sugar gliders could get a lot of anxiety changing their environment so basically, there is no guarantee that it would be a good fit, although it is a possibility, especially if the travel cage was somewhat large. It would definitely need to be large enough to have a safe wheel
How can you have, keep, breed a protected animal species from Australia that must have been smuggled (illegally) from here? It's more disgusting than if Aussies kept Idaho ground squirrels ( if you even are aware of their status).
I’m getting my colony off sugar gliders, and I was wondering where I should get wheels from for them. I was looking into a freedom wheel, a custom cruiser wheel, and or a raptor wheel. But dk what website I should go to.
I've never had a pair of sugar gliders so I am asking without knowing one way or the other, but why can't you do freeze dried or dehydrated veggies and fruits.
I have a sugar glider she's lonely i will like to fine somebody to stay with her i don't want her to died and I being trying for her to like me but she bites me please help
I'm getting a sugarglider this will help me And if we have a sugar glider can we adopt a dog because I'm scared they will fight or the dog will accidentally step the sugar glider
can you wash the fabric toys and things in a washing machine? i'm thinking about getting some gliders and that would be the easiest way for me to clean!
I'm not too well versed in sugar gliders, but for my pet rat I wash all her hammocks and fabric toys in the washing machine with some no scent delicate soap and it works well for me :)
* * * QUESTION * * * not seeing any information on google for this ... i want a sugar glider and or a bush baby. would they be able to live together / be friend one another ? or would i need to take them at separately etc i would LOVE if they would be best friends haha

She takes care of them 100x better than my own family took care of me 😂
I am getting gliders and this is helpful since I have ADHD (potential autism) and having a checklist with a short description is great
