I was diagnosed w/ advanced metastatic prostate cancer in 5/23. I had 6 treatments of Pluvicto as part of a study trial. I had no previous chemo or radiation treatments. My psa was 44 when i started on pluvicto. I was also taking eligard & Zytiga. My last pluvicto treatment was in 4/24. My most recent psa reading was .02 in 8/24. Scans showed "significant" cancer die off. I guess i am part of the 1/3 that pluvicto helps. Exercising daily & have good quality of life. THANK GOD for pluvicto.
@schmingusss Both very likely played a role in reducing the psa. The Pluvicto (best described to me as liquid radiation) is responsible for the cancer die-off I experienced.

I appreciate your help. I received a Pluvecto infusion on August 26. I hope this is a key component in prostate cancer treatment in the future. Thank you for sharing this information.people need to know about all of their health options. I’m going to get my second dose of pluvicto in a couple days. I was diagnosed march 4 2023 psa was 606. Lupron and hormone treatments brought it down quickly. Unfortunately it didn’t last after four months it started spiking. I was switched to lynparzza and aberaterone which held at 8-10 for eight months. It failed after that and before my first pluvicto my psa was at 218 currently it’s up to 369. Hoping 2nd dose starts knocking it down. The adt treatment is horrible but does last longer for most people, good luck to everyone ❤
Does having a vasectomy increase your odds of getting prostate cancer? Also, hormone deprivation is horribly inhumane. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. My husband went from being the Energizer Bunny and exercising and lifting weights regularly to zero energy. Are there other options available besides ADT? What other treatments look promising for people with advanced disease? You were our best resource during my husband's fight. Thank you!
Very great info as usual from PCRI. As a researcher, I believe we try to develop innovative treatments to help most patients. Nonetheless, clinicals trials outcomes can show various levels of response from one patient to another. Understanding better patient response and retrospectively tailor treatment is a way forward. My thoughts go to all patients who are not responding at all or not responding well. Be sure that the scientists and doctors are working hard to better understand prostate cancer to benefit all patients.
I had Pluvicto and my PSA was undetectable for the last 3 treatments 3 months after I was done 4 spots showed up. Just finished 4 targeted radiation treatments. So now waiting 3 months again to see if it comes back.
I had six cycles of pluvicto, ending in January of 2024. When I started my PSA was 3.1. Some weeks after my 6th cycle my PSA was 0.22. Since then my PSA is steadily rising again. Three weeks ago my PSA was 0.589. I've been on lupron for six years now. Because I'm on blood thinner I was switched from erleada to xtandi. I was hoping six cycles of pluvicto would put my PSA in the undetectable range. Prior to pluvicto I had four cycles of taxotere -- and my PSA continued to rise. I was then switched to jevtana for six cycles (prior to pluvicto) and my PSA started to fall but my oncologist decided to put me on pluvicto. As far as side effects from pluvicto -- I had none. With regard to cost, my insurance company paid out $48,000 for each cycle of treatment. That's not pocket change.
@@gulshani8331 My Gleason score was 7 and 8, as determined by 12 prostate biopsies. At that time my PSA was 15. I had scans that showed metastatic cancer in my bones, confirmed a couple of years later with a PSMA PET scan.
Hello and Thank you for this interview Q&A regarding Pluvicto. My father has stage 4 prostate cancer has received chemo and radiation tx that has maintained his PSA levels, meaning they have not improved but not really worsen either. This week he was approved for the Pluvicto infusion regime starting in two weeks as they did his labs today for baseline. My question is are you aware of a new peer reviewed protocol that came out last month? It’s called Targeting the Mitochondrial-Stem Cell Connection in Cancer Treatment: A Hybrid Orthomolecular Protocol that was published September 11, 2024 in The Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine. I have read the paper but it’s a little over my pay grade as I am just a fireman. What I do know is it functions on the mitochondrial level and leverages Intravenous Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Zinc, Ivermectin, Mebendazple- both which are antiparasitic/anthelmintics and ketosis state is optimal as well. All that said do you feel one treatment would contradict the other, receive them at the same time or piggyback one after another as they have different actions? I will attach the paper for your reference and to avoid any confusion hopefully in a separate comment. Thank you, Kevin
What is the name of the trial using Pluvicto and focal/spot radiation with oligometastatic PCa, that Dr. Scholz mentioned at around 9-10 minutes? I want to look this up.
hi I am on pluvicto now the first shot did reduce my PSA from 44.9 to 27.5 the second was disappointing that my pas is 1 point higher any explanation please I still have 4 shots to go. thanks
My husband too. Two treatments and his cancer spread like wildfire. There must be a better way to determine who is a good candidate and who isn't. I'm so sorry for your loss.
I am so sorry for the losses both ladies have suffered. My dad is going through radiation treatment right now. They gave him 6 month injection of Eliguard. He is a mess. He has to have 4 weeks of radiation from 3 beams. High Gleason score. They've failed to tell him so much. His lung capacity is only 40% due to sulferic acid fumes. My understanding is he needs 100% blood flow. Good circulation for any treatment to work. They haven't gave him oxygen or even spoke of his compromised lungs. The radiation they're giving him is half of what it 'should' be, it's basically half. From what we've read, it will buy him 2 more years. He is too far in now to change and deal with insurance and so forth. I asked him about the radiation being around us (as I had saw the 3/3/3 rule for my friend who had breast cancer.) His Dr's haven't mentioned that either. I am not a Dr. I understand this gets very confusing. Any help at all would be so greatly appreciated. 🙏
@@jawnaraestokes5836 This is a hard journey. But, I'm glad you're there for your dad. Everyone going through this should have someone that's constantly doing research and trying to find the winning formula for their loved one. My husband was Stage 4, Gleason 10 when originally diagnosed in July/August 2023. He had 6 cycles of chemo(docetaxel and carboplatin). Radiation was never an option. Neither was surgery. When the chemo was done the doctors couldn't agree on the next treatment ... Pluvicto or Lynparza. The oncologist deferred to the urologist so Pluvicto was chosen. He happened to be in the one third of the people that get worse(much worse!) with that treatment. He passed away almost exactly one year to the day of diagnosis. A side note ... My brother-in-law has the same cancer as my husband but it was found at an earlier stage. He goes to Dattoli Cancer Center in Sarasota, Florida for his radiation treatments. You may want to check them out or give them a call. They're very informative. Another suggestion is to develop your relationship with God, if you haven't already. Miracles happen everyday. God bless you.

I understand that trials have been and are being run using Pluvicto when chemotherapy has not been used previously and it is likely that sometime in the near future, Pluvicto will be approved as a therapy without chemo. It seems that the requirement for chemo is an artifact of the pre-Pluvicto standard of care that was chemotherapy.

The Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) this week approved Pluvicto for use in Australia. There is no government subsidy for its cost.

Yes 3 feet away for 3 days. Paper plates and plastic utensils, and separate laundry .
Great Information! Wish the Insurance Companies would use it, without certain requirements 🙏 Does not seem right! All money based hope that changes 🙏
