Answer for your question (why comment section divided into hindu-muslim) is, The Ideology of Hindu and Muslim. As per muslim holy book, Nature is just resource and its existence to serve you and you can utilize as granted. So, they dont care or respect in any form. As per Hindu culture, God exists in Nature too. Hindu worship Sea as (sea god). As a hindu, you are allowed to throw (in river and sea) only pooja waste which is organic waste and dissolve easily in water. OfCourse stupids exists in both groups, But core ideology of muslim is harmful to nature.

The Colors used contain lead, mercury, increase acid content and disturb the whole ecosystem under water.
With ganpati Ji's idols people also dump other accessories like thermocol and plastic which add to it.
