Same problem. Even an empty washer will not balance and keeps refilling. I'd like to use the smart diagnostics before calling repair. Your chat agent was not helpful with this. How can I do this?

My machine was washing a single item of clothing. In retrospect a bad decision. Now the machine does not even turn on. The lid is locked and the water did not even drain. Is there a fix? I have confirmed there’s power on the outlet.
This usually happens after the rinse cycle has occurred. After re balancing the load the system starts and immediately starts adding water again. Then it fails the balancing and errors again.How can I just run the spin cycle and not the added water section. The machine seems to think the load is unbalanced even if I shut the machine down and start it with only the spin cycle selected. When this starts it happens on all loads. Sometimes I have resorted to pulling the things out and wringing them by hand since I don't need to keep rinsing them, There should be a way to by pass this function.

This one is absolutely driving me crazy! I feel like you’re blaming the victim. I have no clothes and I am streaking mad.
Is there a way of balancing the load if you are just cleaning the drum with the clean tub cycle?

When using the clean tub cycle on an LG top load washer, it's not necessary to balance the load, as this cycle is specifically designed for cleaning the drum and does not involve spinning with a load of laundry. The clean tub cycle is a self-cleaning cycle for the washer's drum and does not require the same balancing considerations as a regular wash cycle. Horrible waste of time, water, and electricity! This should’ve been corrected a long time ago! LG is like eco garbage! Mine restarts so many times before finally complete.
