FOR HAT (minus ears) R1: Chain 5- join ends in a slip stitch and then chain up 2 R2: double crochet into each stitch (starting with the stitch your chain is in), slip stitch into beginning and chain 2 up R3: 1 Double crochet first stitch, two into 2nd stitch and continue in that pattern (this is increasing) then slip stitch into first stitch at the end and chain 2 (do this at the end of each row) R4: 1 double crochet 1st & 2nd stitch and then twice double crochet in 3rd R5: 1 double crochet 1st, 2nd, 3rd stitch- Twice double crochet in 4th At this point if you want to make it bigger for a 1 mo old and up, continue to increase another row or two if you like as we have been. For 5-6 mos you need 6-7 rows and then continue below. For a newborn hat we are going to finish off with 1 double crochet into every stitch, not increasing meaning- just 1 double crochet into every stitch for 4-5 rows Fold hat in half and count the stitches. Double crochet into half only (for this pattern). From there 20:40 continues onto the ears.
Jyn Meyer The beginning of this is completely wrong. You left out the 6 dc into the circle, the sl st into the 1st dc and the ch 2 before you even get to R2 in your instructions.
Thank you! Your instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I put in an ear bud for every tutorial I use so I can hear. I recommend people do that instead of complaining. Sheesh! My hat turned out beautiful and it is easily adjusted for larger sizes (and I'm a beginner!). I'm about to make another one in a size up. Thank you again!
If you don't want the point at the top of your hat then put 6 sc or double crochet into the ring at the beginning. Slip stitch into the first single or double crochet to close the round. Ch 2 then go on with the pattern. Put your first DC into the the same stitch (the slip stitch that you just made) count that as your first DC. I hope this helps.
What a lovely tutorial. I'm now going to crochet along as I play it again. I think my lovely new grandson would look so cute in this & I've already got some wool that will be perfect for him. Would love you to make more tutorials, you are lovely & clear on what needs doing. Thank you. xx
Thank You for Sharing your expertise in how to crochet this cute little mouse hat. I am going to make it for my new granddaughter who is to be born very soon. I don't follow written patterns very well, some how I do so much better when I can see what is being done, so video tutorials are wonderful to learn new things!
I LOVED this video! I made it for, what will be my youngest grandchild, a girl, who is due in less than a month! Thank you for this adorable tutorial! You explained it very well & it was VERY easy to make! :)
Very sweet! Thank you for creating and sharing this video. Your voice is very sweet and soft, so it was a little difficult to hear, but earbuds fixed that very easily. Thank you also for demonstrating an easier "magic circle," with the chain stitches. The one I was doing has been challenging to (try to) master. I like your way so much better.
Hi Klaudia, love this hat it is very beautiful. Thank you very much for sharing it. I am going to have a go at making it so thanks for posting it on here.
Thank you for the video can you go slow, you crochete so fast. I just want to learn how to crochete baby hat the way you crochete, that hat it is so cute.
I think what you are doing on this newborn mouse hat is Great". However, if you would talk louder so people can follow you , you will be easier to follow and we can know that we're crocheting correctly . Talk to the viewer with clarity and specifically from beginning to end.
HELP!! When increasing on a round, do you double crochet into the one that has the 2 chains, or skip that to the next? And then what about when you're not increasing, do you skip? I love your hat!! :)
I really love this hat and I wanna make it but its really hard to see ur stitching u go really fast and I can't tell if ur skipping stitches :( plz explain a little better or slow down so I can see u thank you very beautiful work
She is not skipping any and I've made this before just increase when she says increase and when she said no more increasing then just do a regular row of dc without skipping any. Hope I helped 😁
Maam, please slow down. You're showing how to crochet to people who have no idea how to do it. At the beginning of your video it would be great to see in slow motion what to do. Thanks!
+Jolie Torres If you 'mouse' over the YT video box (lower right corner) you will see a little gear wheel. Click on that and at the top of the 'settings' box you will see "Speed"...slow the video down however much you like. P.S. She is not skipping any stitches.
+Niavi Brown Yes, she meant double crochet. :) The single crochet rim (AFTER you go halfway around with the double crochet) is optional. I do that even though it makes the hat "tight" since I don't like little hanging ties around newborns. It's cute for a picture when it's on babies for a few minutes, but it's not good to leave on a newborn for hours or for going out.
I'm not trying to offend, but I'm on the side of those who say you go too fast, and on top of that, you whisper to yourself most of the time. In addition, you chose a fuzzy yarn, and it's hard to see where you're placing your stitches. I'll try again, slowing the video down, when I have more patience. Right now, I'm beyond frustrated! To those who said it was easy to follow; were we watching the same video??
Annette Trnka you can slow down the video...just go to top right corner of the video there will be 3 dots, tap on the dots then tap playback speed...try the options until it gets as slow as you want it. I hope this helps.
please be more clear!!!! have no idea what you were saying. Sometimes we can ignore that if we can clearly see what you are doing but we couldn't do that either!!! very frustrating!!!
Its very unclear to what is happening this would be for a more advanced person if i didnt know what to do when said to chain 5 ect. I would go off of what i can see. horrible quality not even close enough to see what is happening. This is not beginner's quality.
FOR HAT (minus ears)
R1: Chain 5- join ends in a slip stitch and then chain up 2
R2: double crochet into each stitch (starting with the stitch your chain is in), slip stitch into beginning and chain 2 up
R3: 1 Double crochet first stitch, two into 2nd stitch and continue in that pattern (this is increasing) then slip stitch into first stitch at the end and chain 2 (do this at the end of each row)
R4: 1 double crochet 1st & 2nd stitch and then twice double crochet in 3rd
R5: 1 double crochet 1st, 2nd, 3rd stitch- Twice double crochet in 4th
At this point if you want to make it bigger for a 1 mo old and up, continue to increase another row or two if you like as we have been. For 5-6 mos you need 6-7 rows and then continue below.

Jyn Meyer aa
Jyn Meyer you can make the top flatter by putting 6 sc or DC in the ring at the beginning of pattern. This will be considered the 1st round.
Thank you again!
how did you make a larger hat? lets say, for like 3 months??
If you don't want the point at the top of your hat then put 6 sc or double crochet into the ring at the beginning. Slip stitch into the first single or double crochet to close the round. Ch 2 then go on with the pattern. Put your first DC into the the same stitch (the slip stitch that you just made) count that as your first DC. I hope this helps.

Pippen Brittany + just pause while you do each row after she says what to do
so cute!
You need to yell at the end of each row how many stitches we should have. It would be much easier for me to follow a written pattern
I like so much, Thank you.
More sizes please 3-6 months and 6-12 months x
Hermoso!!!!la medida es para recién nacido.?👍👏🏻
Isabel Benítez si
Please could you show the simple knitting baby mouse hot too?.

Thanks
Very nice
Thank you for this, this is so adorable!!

Quick question, if the size of the yarn and crochet are different, is the counting will be different?
+Patricia Titus It won´t, just keep encreesing. If the yarn is thicker, do not encrees that much.
I love it
I'm going to make a 2 year old and 4 year old hat.. how many increase rows do I do for each?
Andrea Donachy
Thank you for the video, but you really need to slow down to explain what your doing and what hole your using.
when she increases does she mean 2 double crochet on a same stitch? Sorry, I'm a beginner!
Yes
how many increase rows for 4 year old hat?
24:57 for ears… thanks~
Cool thanks for that!
Maam, please slow down. You're showing how to crochet to people who have no idea how to do it. At the beginning of your video it would be great to see in slow motion what to do. Thanks!

When she said single crochet did she mean half double crochet, after doing the second row of double crochet all the way around????? HELP PLEASE!
+Niavi Brown Yes, she meant double crochet. :) The single crochet rim (AFTER you go halfway around with the double crochet) is optional.
