Thanks for this video, it helped a lot. In future it would be better if you will write the sizes not only in US standard but also in Europe standard - centimetres :)
Hi Andrew, congrats for the videos, I find them really instructive! just wanted to know about the flexible dowel you use to draw the curves for the outlines. I don’t seem to find anything like that. What is it made of and where could I get one?
Andrew, I really dig your videos. Your instruction technique makes it very easy to take in what you are saying. I am still digging through all of your films, and I think I may have a challenge. I have not found anyone that has a video or how to webpage in modifying a Vinyl Covered Board (ie. Liquid Shredder) into a Fiberglass covered board. I got a used 10.0 Liquid Shredder with torn Vinyl, and this being my first board and ready for more performance out of it now, I am really interested in giving it a facelift that captures who I am.I am assuming with the fin plugs it's going to be a chore to create some water-proof bore holes...or should I attempt to put in FS2 fin lugs?I would also be interested in logo materials, preferred materials for at home print logos so I can tag this big boy. I am sure there is some science to paper or labels once it's under the board and under the sun, hence I don't want to be that guy that did not take the time to ask before just slapping some trash under the layers of hard work.Look forward to your feedback!Much Aloha,JP
hii Andrew! So im watching the vid right now and im a little confuse with the 3 pictures on the sheet of paper that said (midpoint of first rail band) those the 3 figures represent different shapes or that's just progresss? Nice video btw
It's just progress to the next step. You do rail bands 1 and 2, then after the foam is removed you add the middle line then remove the rest of the foam.
hi I really like like your videos of building surfboard. They help me alot. I building a SUP and will make 50/50 rails. But i couldn't find how to calculate the dimension using the same papers you have in the videos. Can you tell me how can I calculate or should I just use simple mathematic to compare dimensions on paper and my dimension on the template.
I think this page might help you greenlightsurfsupply.com/pages/surfboard-building-guide-page-2 go down to the part with rail band notes and they specifically mention 50/50 rails. You basically have to shape the bottom like the top, are you sure thats what you want on a sup?
Best series on shaping i've found, cheers for the help!
thank you my friend the information about the surfboard is very good
FINALLY YOU PUT SHOES ON!
A t square seems like a sweet idea here too;)
