@@Dax79 here it is, i still can't thank you enough for the help, i even managed to get a reply from masahiro ito himself twitter.com/CoffeeLordran/status/1322744118683017216
Thats fantastic! Love your finished product, and its so great that the Master himself gave you a :] . Ill be sure to like and share on twitter @Dax79 😀
I really wish this video had more views :( You did amazing, and you also did in my opinion, the better design of the helmet, not that pointy one from the movie/homecoming.
Thanks for the great comment. Since RUclips has gone all company based and forgot about the You in RUclips, my video count has dropped :( Glad you liked! Feel free to like and share to get the count up lol!!
@@Dax79 That sucks to hear, this was such a great informative and interesting video! EXTREMELY underrated, too many Homecoming Pyramid Heads! I've always wanted to cosplay the original but never knew how to find a helmet so I'm glad I found your video on how to make my very own, thank you and I hope you earn more subs for your hard work!!!
I'm partially responsible fro that sorry 😆 I was the 1st person to make a "How to make a (film) Pyramid Head Helmet" opps! I'm so glad you enjoyed this video and I hope your project is successful! Keep it up!
Hey Dax, thanks to your tutorial I was able to enter my first cosplay competition today! I didn't win but the judges still liked it so much I got an honorable mention! People were really impressed with how it well it was put together. Thanks lad!
Seems like a really intimidating build for someone with zero experience like me but regardless I hope I'll get to tackle it this year cause being Pyramid Head for Halloween would be the best. Will keep these videos handy when I do so thank you very much!
You can do it! Slow and steady. You have given yourself lots of time. 80% of people seem to decide to make him in August, that's cutting it close for a first build. Feel free to show me your finished product!
@@Dax79 Started work on it about a week ago. Used the cardboard box our new boiler came in. So far i've done the base of it. Mine has five panels: two front, two side and one in the back. It's not gonna be a 1:1 but once i get the support beams on with the remainder of the cardboard and once we paint it, it'll get the point across. Then it is onto thinking of a solution for the gown thing. Can't wait to unveil this to my friends as i can hardly resist not telling someone! Really proud of my work so far. Thank you very much for the motivation and guidance!
Sounds like you're a future cosplayer!' You are enjoying thecprosses and look forward to the 1st outing in your own work. I'm glad my videos are helping, and it looks like you will have him all ready for the new games and film. Perfect!!
Both have their own amazing aspects, but you just don't see PH2001 at Conversations. I'm glad you enjoyed the build and I hope you make one!!! It's worth it! I posted a video on February of him in action ;) go check him out!!
Dax, sorry to bother you again but I need some extra help. I'm on the EVA step but i'm afraid that the 1cm tall EVA board i have could break the foam because it might be too heavy for it, is there anything that I should do to make the foam more resistant or am i being too paranoid?
You maybe a little paranoid, but I've been there! Nothing worse that breaking you build so close to the end!! Are you talking about adding the eva to the bottom fin / rim? If so, as long as you have attached the base layer well, the fin should be fine, maybe add an extra blob of hot glue into the joint between the fin and the helmet sides to strengthen. But, if yiu have followed my video, I think yiu will find it will be fine. My helmet is doing well and I've had no issues with it being delicate. I do worry about if someone at a Con thinks its stronger that it is and puts their finger through the polystyrene lol 😆
I just watched the paint and the glue and stopped as it reached. Rember the glue has to be tacky not wet. Too wet could be the issue. You don't need too much, just a membrain.
09.23 ish. These are the paints needed to creat the same effect. If you want to just paint him red just stick to acrylic paint AND NO SPRAY PAINT ON FOAM/ POLYSTYREN OR IT WILL DESOLVE !!!!
Hi, It's just a thick hat from a charity shop. As the helmet is so lightweight, I did not need a workman's helmet, as I usually do. I just hot glued it into place. I might have a phot of it on my Dax79Cosplay Facebook page in the WIP folder for this cosplay. I hope that helps!
Hi Dax! Quick question: Since there is only the small hole to see out of on the front plate of the helmet, due to the position of it, what exactly is my field of vision going to be when wearing it?
Hi, I actually ended up not using the hole on the helmet as its far to low and I decided against adding a camera due to weight. I ended up adding lots of small hole's that work fantastically, enough for me to film "Silent Hill: Road of Guilt" in it without any issues. I posted a video regarding the hole's here - ruclips.net/video/0ruDUR7rrik/видео.html I hope that helps you! Dax79
I used image (s) of him fighting with James in the water sewer as my ref. I looked at how the shoulder lines up with the fin and the lip-fin to his waist. Then it all falls into place. The back fin is flat. So I just did it by eye. Hope that helps!
I'll be showing that soon. Eather small pin holes where my eyes are or a small camera. I will be revising this cosplay soon as I have an event at the beginning of next year with him and I need to see !!!!
Cant wait to make this out of pizza boxes when halloween comes around lol
I can't wait to saee it!
Took me 2 months but I finally did it!
Thanks so much for all the help with my very first cosplay dax, this halloween will be great
Glad to have been of service!! I hope to see your work sometime!

How do you get that effect with the acrylic paint and pva glue? Whenever i try it the paint ends up forming big bubbles
I just watched the paint and the glue and stopped as it reached. Rember the glue has to be tacky not wet. Too wet could be the issue. You don't need too much, just a membrain.
What sort of paint do you recommend? Would any sort of black and red paint do? I'm trying to put together a list of materials before I start
I'm sure I touch base on this at the end of this video... let me check the timestamp ...

@@Dax79 Thanks!
just one question, it is all cardboard box material?
Hi, check out part 1. I show you what it's made of. It's a polystyrene underlay from a hardware store.
question, what type of foam if you remember did you do for the beams? im making my own rn and i need the right material
I use EVA foam for the beams. You can use floor play squares or get a roll of 10mm EVA from Amazon or a cosplay shop.
How did you come up with measurements based on your height?
I used image (s) of him fighting with James in the water sewer as my ref. I looked at how the shoulder lines up with the fin and the lip-fin to his waist.
Then it all falls into place.
The back fin is flat.
So I just did it by eye. Hope that helps!
