Higurashi is my absolute favorite. I first watched it in my freshman year of high school. It was my first horror anime, and I loved it so much that I bought all the manga (and I barely read, it’s literally the only manga I own other than my Hetalia manga), (I’m 18 now and graduated high school in June), I have an entire shelf decorated to higurashi, I even have figurines. To say that I’m still obsessed with it is an understatement. Many people don’t give it a chance because they just don’t like the old animation style of the first 4 seasons/or they just think it’s “yAnDeRe LiTtle gIrlS kiLliNg PeOpLE” but it’s so much deeper than that. It’s my favorite series of all time. This is a beautiful cover, just like the cover of the op. I’ve always wanted to be a singer and post videos like this on RUclips, but microphones are so expensive and I have no idea how to go about it. 🥺
Ini Miney Omg that’s so cool to have a whole shelf dedicated to just Higurashi lol. Julia and I must have been 13 and 9 years old respectively when finding out about the anime (yeah ik i was probably too young but you know the minimal supervision vibes.) I know a lot of bigger cover artists can really ham up the whole “you need good equipment!” aspect of making videos, but its really not as important as people say it is. Like yeah you probably wouldn’t want to use a toaster to record, but you don’t need 2,000 dollar equipment to make decent videos (and some if the stuff that is expensive you could probably acquire through -other means- anyways.) A lot of people use a Blue Snowball for recording, and while people complain about how overused it is, it’s not without good reason, and it’s only about $50. There’s mixing software out there that’s not that hard to obtain. Audacity is an obvious one and it’s one we used to use all the time before i switched over to Adobe Audition (which i do not pay for by the way), there’s also Reaper which has a 60 day trial that doesn’t seem to actually run out, and Studio One has a free version that I checked out recently. More than that though, it doesn’t really matter that much if it doesn’t sound great at first. As cliched as it sounds, having fun with it is what’s important!
@@ThoseSistersYouKnow thanks so much for the advice 😊 I will look into it when I have the money. As for editing my computer is super old and slow so I’m not sure how that’ll go lol.
Maybe add a new computer to your list of investments then. You can probably get a cheap laptop for a few hundo that will be good enough to install and use this kind of software. I mean, we made our first videos with Audacity and Windows Movie Maker (which unfortunately isn't around anymore, but I'm sure you can find something like it), so it's really not that complicated to get started! 😊 - Julia
I get this, it was also my first horror anime, i would read the manga at school and naturally kids would treat it like i was reading "Kiddie books" then i finally one day showed them one of the parts that's really...y'know. And they all looked mortified. But this series is what got me into anime in the first place so it's a anime i hold deep to my heart. And i recommend it to anyone that i can that's willing to watch these kinds of anime. I've gotten a few into it so. :3 But i also lived in a house where my dad thought being into anime would result in me like failing classes or becoming to focused on it and not succeed because it's what happened with a relative so i had to keep this fact hiddn. Eventually he found out and over time mellowed out to it when he saw i kept my school work up to date. And now anime's like a massive part of my life. Higurashi always on my radar. I don't own all the manga sadly. I'm missing all of the second half
Yeah, Candace wrote it for me to sing. I would've written it myself, but I've been extremely tired as of late. But don't worry, I'm not done yet. I'll make sure to write my next one on my own! 😊 - Julia
@@ThoseSistersYouKnow This you time. Best cover on RUclips as of yet. Despite not being 100% accurate translation your voice is near perfect match. I hope to see ED 2 before the end of Gou if not it will still be excellent! 👍😀😍
Amazing job. I love the lyrics, and I like that you incorporated all the artwork pieces from the ending since they're all so great (awesome timing on the Keiichi one which is my fav). Higurashi Gou has been amazing so far, and I'm so glad we have your awesome covers of the opening and ending song to go with it!
I *needed* this. I have been living and breathing this song since I watched Gou in June, and this English cover just gave me another way to consume it. This song slaps! This translation slaps! Julia's vocals are phenomenal!
Wow, such a beautiful cover, love how you used scenes from the official ending and sprinkled them throughout our video. Just absolutely beautiful lyrics and lovely voice. This song is one of my favorite Higurashi songs of all time. Thank you for doing it justice.
This is a masterpiece .. I love the lyrics sooooo much and ur lovely voice make it so touching for me ... I am a huge higurashi fan..I always thinks about characters and writing thories in my head and those wonderful op and ed u two came with makes me so grateful to u and proud of u .. I wish more people see it and give u the proper rate and love u deserve ... all my loves for u two 💓
I covered Nageki no Mori and the original Higurashi no Naku Koro ni opening when I was a youngin, but both of those ain't so great now. I do intend to redo them both some day (and maybe the other openings/endings of the show too.) It all depends! -Candace
Wonderfully constructed lyrics; doesn't lose too much of the essence of the song over language barriers. Vocals-wise, it was very pleasing as well (Though I'm practically no one to commentate on this xd) although I do have a suggestion for the vocal output, as a listener that is. I think the treble is way too high? Not sure if it's the setup or anything but the bass is nigh non-existent. The music instrumental was also a tad too loud so it overpowers the lyrics. Thence I think that it could be reduced a little so that the focal point would be the singing rather than the music. When all is said and done, superb work.
This was posted exactly 2 thanksgivings ago at the time I’m writing this comment. Speaking of which, happy thanksgiving! 🦃 I hope y’all gobble up y’all’s bellies. 😋
Think what you will of Gou/Sotsu but DAMN if Higurashi ain't got the best music even now. This and the intros? 😘 👌 Also this is my favorite cover of this!
For a song from Higurashi, this sounds surprisingly calm, or maybe it's supposed to represent someone resigned/giving up on their fate? Or maybe Chiyomaru-san was being a little bit too silly that time? Either way, this is a great cover! I sometimes hoped that you two would cover more songs from Higurashi, but I'm grateful for what we have now.
I think it represents Rika’s despair in Gou/Sotsu, thrown back into the same murderous time loop from before and every attempt she makes to change it is in vain. But honestly looking at the original translation, you could make the argument it’s from Satoko’s perspective. The way “I want to believe and have faith in you and that’s why I won’t lose my way” may refer to an actual known person like Rika instead of a nebulous evil causing her misery, also signaling Satoko’s relentlessness in getting Rika to see her perspective and concede to go back to the way things were. Alright I think I’ve gone on long enough, thanks for the comment! There may just be something Higu related coming in the near future 👀

I was in middle school when I found Higurashi. I was immediately hooked. I'm 25 now and I'm still addicted

"no matter i cry to be saved"
Seeing episode 15 and 16
God.... That's touching
I'm not crying, you're crying
How to make this sadder than it already is:
1:29 😢😢😭😭🤧
I kind of like see Rika design when she adult
I get the feeling that the song gets more tragic, after every episode...
Great job btw ❤️

How can someone dare to leave a dislike on this masterpiece!?
Damn this highkey slaps.
Remember when we thought Keiichi was the main character?
Usually I'm not a great fan of English covers but I'm in love with this one!!!

You are underrated, TOO UNDERRATED, HOW, HOW CAN PEOPLE DO THIS???
your guess is as good as mine lol
Amazing! Was waiting for an english cover of this great ending.

I cant find my words it's just so cool ??? Absolutly amazing !!
"The knowing I cant save anyone" right with Satoko's pic tho... It hurt
That last quiet bit that transitions to the frame of Hanyuu and Rika gets me every time x.x
nice job with the lyrics/translation; this sounds pretty smooth.

Meant to ask, have you girls covered the old shows stuff too? :)

Another amazing cover! Nippah~!
Amazing cover of the best ending song of 2020.
i waited ed cover!
This sounds amazing, such a great cover, good job!
Spectacular.
Your voice really reminds me of the synthesized voice, Solaria. So.. you sound literally as good, maybe better than, a robot designed for singing.
