      chap0syoutuification it's because it was international non-olympics hockey. the crowds at NHL games are more nuts. just watch the canadians

      +chap0syoutuification Once you know the game a bit it's pretty obvious where the puck is even when it isn't visible all the time, by seeing what the players do and by following the game. Well, at least most of the time it's pretty obvious.

    First of all, they showed international hockey, so there arent going to be any fights and minimal rough play. Second of all, they showed absolute crap for clips. They literally barely showed any significant plays. Just back and forth. They could have showed awesome saves, breakaways, one timers, body checks, hip checks.

      +Bostonzo B bro football players admit that hockey is more physical. Guys get pucks to the face, go back to the bench to pull their teeth out and dont miss a shift. Crosby played with a broken foot and went to the playoffs

    • @irishman89
      @irishman89 8 лет назад +74

      +Bostonzo B Studies have shown that a hit in hockey has 25 percent more impact than one in football. Look up Richard Zednick neck cut. Then tell me what it more gruesome.

    • @recipioct
      @recipioct 8 лет назад +44

      +Bostonzo B Yea... that isn't correct at all. Look up Clint Malarchuk, or even the worst injuries in the NHL. You could even look up NHL vs NFL hits. You will see that the NHL hits are much faster and much more brutal. It's simple physics.

    • @RJ8812
      @RJ8812 8 лет назад +37

      +Camps2630 It's not that there's no fighting in international games. It's just that if they do fight, they get kicked out. As opposed to the NHL, which just results in a 5 minute penalty.

    • @TheWitchOvAgnesi
      @TheWitchOvAgnesi 8 лет назад +5

      +RJ8812 10 minute major, and oftentimes an ejection. The reason there's no fighting or brawling in WC/Olympics matches is because the entire team could be disqualified.

      @SamEllens 7 лет назад +4

      I like international hockey quite a bit - but if someone has never seen hockey before I'd absolutely show them an NHL game or even an OHL game first. OHL is often especially exciting as the young kids seem to get better at offence before they get better at defence and there can be wild end to end plays.

      local9 Sabres/Senators from '08 or '09, after Drury got taken out. Ray Emery got his ASS beat by Jason Peters in that one. Benches cleared, coaches trying to come over the glass at each other. That rivalry took an ugly turn, and it's been chippy ever since.

    • @nmbnmb7256

      local9 as a Sabres fan, that was one of my happiest moments as a fan. I wish my boys remembered that. It's less than a decade ago, and the league has changed so much. Guys like that little shit that played for Boston (can't remember his name) skating around, handing out cheap shots. There's no real enforcers to take care of that, and it's frowned upon now. The league needs more guys like Matthew Barnaby and Patty Kaleta rearranging faces. The world isn't ready for another Razor or Domi. Haha.

    • @local9
      @local9 7 лет назад

      nmb nmb that's true, the league isn't ready for it due to all the changes. As a person in the UK it's hard to see a game but lately found some local teams I might go see. Still nothing like the big games but it's still in love for the game.

    • @mattyip8932

      +JHHBeck International hockey or hockey in general on european ice allows for much more passing and alot more smooth plays. Alot more space and you dont generally have many guys deking through the middle. Rather you guys flying up the wing with tons of space and making great passes.

    • @johnbeck1503
      @johnbeck1503 8 лет назад +1

      +troller smith, the important point was that the viewers were looking for hits and fights, which aren't prevalent in international hockey. Great passes are aplenty in the NHL, but you get the deking too. There's a reason it's the world's premiere hockey league.

    • @michaelbyrne2048
      @michaelbyrne2048 8 лет назад

      +Alice Liddell Still on an Olympic sized rink, which gives more lanes and less collisions. Also note that players aren't going to go 100% during IIHFs because they don't want to get injured before the NHL playoffs. Let's also note that half the players in IIHF are pro's from KHL and NHL and the majority of the players from less skilled countries are quite amateur so the pro's aren't going to absolutely crush the weaker players.

    • @chriswilliamjclark
      @chriswilliamjclark 8 лет назад +5

      Chris Clark
      True, yeah you are right. I was mixing up the Olympics. But, to counter. The IIHF doesn't have all of the best players considering most of them, if good, are still in the NHL playoff, which most like will always consist of the Hawks, Ducks, Rangers, Tampa... all the best players. I think if you are out in the 1st round you can still play in the IIHF though. So maybe there is just less motive behind the tournament.

When you understand where players in hockey are supposed to be moving and how chances are created, then it also becomes interesting. And so it goes with everything. It was less violent than I imagined it would be...apart from the guy that slammed the other guy into the wall. That's poor form lads.

      That's because it's international hockey, if you watched NHL (US and Canada) their teams fight way more

      +RavensSarora Even though the NHL is far more physical than Int. hockey, even the NHL is far softer now than the NHL was pre 2000's. Too many issues in North America with concussions, player suicides, dementia from head trauma in gridiron, so the NFL scaled back. Hockey sort of self-regulated with the times to mitigate scrutiny; scaling fighting back, protecting players etc . The NHL is too wealthy of a league to carry the back alley gangster mentality anymore, or to have some lughead enforcer put a multi-million dollar star athlete in the hospital. NHL has cracked down a bit on the violence/enforcer culture in 21rst century.

      So what you're all saying is - Canada will only beat the fuck out of other Canadians, and also Americans. Everyone else is safe.
