This is by far the most logical, straight forward, simplest design for this type of home. 50 foot depth of garage allows an RV to drive straight in. As a bonus additional square footage can be easily utilized. I'm very excited for my own construction now. Thanks for the walk thru.
Thanks Scott! Very glad this is helping others with ideas. We have some others that are similar and patterned after this one coming up as well. Stay tuned!
Perfect for an archery range! Open the doors and I could shoot out on the property. Put a bow press and work bench song the sides. Shoot 3 or 5 spot indoor in the shop area. Just awesome! Nice work.
cory brearley mine has a large carport along the side of it that has pickup trucks,Kubotas, and other large machinery in the shade and out of the way. That way all my dirt bikes and golf carts and gym equipment can stay inside the “hangar.”
My 1st home in Israel 🇮🇱 (Tel Aviv) was a restored barn turned into a home. Because of the large open floor plan, many friends + family liked to have their weddings there. (1949 - 1964). LOL 😆
So you agree with the necessity/appeal of double toilets but you don’t agree with the necessity/appeal of double sinks... Think about that for a second... lmfao. First off it completely defies logic how does one “make sense” but not the other?Second, you’re gonna have to route a second set of vent pipes and traps from a toilet so you don’t have to wait. And then you’ll be standing in the bathroom with an unwiped ass while ur wife brushes her teeth, does makeup etc. at the one single sink. Because you deemed it un important lol. Get out of the way honey I just took a dump in one of our two toilets but we only have one sink. That would be the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. You’re trying to sound simple and low maintenance but your bathroom would be inefficient as fuck I know you’re speculating if just saying ur comment makes no sense whatsoever.
I lived in what you call a barn, for 4 years 1/2 was garage and 1/2 was in an small house with storage on top. To keep out the gas smells, the house part had doors with gaskets and the house it's sealed and vented to out side. You can get sick over time if you don't seal your living area. Great idea. Worked for me. Your set up looks cool too.
Perfect there’s room for another bedroom n bathroom down stairs shrinking the garage size. Classic modern home. With the extraordinary outside look. I’m looking forward to my home.
I am think Tim the Tool Man Taylor would love this crib. Kids living upstairs, no eating or in/out cept through front door by the kitchen. All other doors are locked

I love the build. If I would change anything at all, it would be the maple stained cabinet doors over the stove. I think I would prefer a continuation of the dark gray, flat panel finish. The only other thing I might add would be a large picture window in the living area. Overall, it's a super sweet home.
Amazing setup. Folks love their huge oversized garages here in Idaho. This "Barndominium" would definitely be a big seller in these parts. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome ideas because it so much for buying a home n you never know what your going to get other peoples headache's something simple n not to spend a lot of money but make sure you have a drainage when it rainstorms so your not flooded

Not everyone in Texas talks this slow, trust me Haha. Honestly I think its them focusing more on what to say throughout the tour and saying it correctly the first time so as to not say it again, or have to do another take.
Brian O'Neil my favorite part was 12:39 where he tells us the entire building is 50’ x 50’ and the living side is 25’ x 50’. But what about the shop side? I mean, like, how big is that side? I instantly started to worry they were not going to tell us the size of the shop side. After all, who can do such complex math in their head? I’m not a math-e-magician. Then, he did explain the shop side is also 25’ x 50’. Man, that was a close one.

@@joshuabartley5226 yeah im not talkin about bathroom laundry room ect. Just like kitchen living room. I always wanted the bottom floor open and a top floor with rooms but instead of hall ways have balconies wrapping the whole upstairs with the sinner looking down to the kitchen and living room
Some friends of mine bought a farm house, which the prior owner had done an arrangement rather like the kitchen/living space in the barndominium. it also had a mudroom/bathroom/laundry room adjacent to the living space. It being a large old house there was also a formal dining room and a formal living room. The living space/kitchen was so adaptable, the formal spaces were pretty much wasted. The upstairs living space was also nicely arranged.

I did a delivery to an undisclosed location once somewhere in the Midwest, backed up to the largest pole barn you've ever seen. It was easily big enough to park a large commercial airliner in. This was on a pretty big farm so I wasn't really surprised, I was sort of surprised that I was delivering a $2,000 refrigerator to this barn though. Long story short there was a legitimate single story house inside this giant pole barn, like, they built the barn around the house. I didn't ask any questions.

On the same side, there was a large two car garage with entrance from the living area. Other than the obvious "guy thing" with the shop next door, this style of home can be VERY energy efficient to boot.
