Do you think they will catch that Ekko is kissing a girl without telling her that he's not the Ekko she knew? How about the fact that Ekko cucking his alternate reality self? One more thing, we never get to see if the alternate reality Ekko and Heimerdinger come back. The bros are great at analyzing, I am sure they will talk through it! :D
Oh I like how at the beginning they're hoping this episode is a falling out between Jayce and Viktor expecting that to be less destructive than another Vi-Jinx falling out.... little did they know 🙂↕️
You gotta watch "Isha is Jinx's Wild Rune", it is a fabulous video explaining Isha and Jinx's relationship; preferably, I'd love to see your reaction to that video and your thoughts.
I like how every single persons reaction to the montage is “oh my god she’s dead. She’s so dead. Fuck” like if they weren’t already sure of it the second it starts showing the happy moments of her and jinx everyone accepts that she’s going to die
As I say in the dozens of other reactions to this, at this point in the show I had cried so much I had a headache. I'm an emotional guy, but that was a first.
to me there is a very fundamental diference between the Power action on episode 3 and Isha sacrifice, Isha knows exactly what is going on and what will happens that jinx was gonna get killed by Vander, in some sense isha is every thing that jinx wish she was as powder.
I get that Victor healed them but why were they dependant on a connection to continue functioning that seems like a design flaw and kind of goes against a healing mechanic and more of a Necromancer or puppetier And how would that help Sindged unless he simply needs a sample of Victors blood being a perfect mixture of shimmer and hextech without a link
Victor wasn't healing them he was changing them, notice in the last ep, Salo walking sounds like a robot, not just that he isn't breathing, victor can just connect to his followers minds . He's creating a hive mind if humans and then don't even understand it
Why are you comparing this show's unique power's mechanics to like... video game or other fiction's mechanics? Every story has the opportunity to present something new.
This was just... a work of art. What an episode of television. I feel like literally EVERYONE needs to watch Arcane -- and I have never played LoL in my life. Edit: Jacob I'm sorry but why do you keep swallowing in between sentences like you have a nasty drip going on and you wanna taste that fishscale? LOL
I appreciate the discussion fr even more because I personally dislike Isha (not as a character, but as a plot device) but your talk on her is great. I fully agree with her death feeling so expected made it better, it treats the audience less like a fool. It also allows Jinx to see Isha was just a kid how she didnt deserve this happening the same was jinx has never been able to acknowledge powder was just a kid and never deserved that happening. Yes its hamfisted but that doesn't make it a completely bad thing. For me side character death of characters introduced in the same season is one of my most hated show tropes but it doesn't inherently make every death bad but it IS one of the bigger issues I have with S2 also the spit thing with cait XD her wiping it onto her lips made me lose it laughing fr. this episode also finally gave us the viktor jinx interaction we all were waiting for and it did not disappoint lol
@@Poke-ladd With the amount of detail they can fit into an act of Arcane with it still being very cohesive and smooth (like in Season 1) I believe just one extra act would have fixed almost all problems for me, not an entire season as some people are suggesting.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but for me that's enough and there's no reason to drag it out. Otherwise you'd run into other problems, like losing the element of surprise or repetition.
Caleb's absolute disgust while Jacob describes what he THOUGHT Victor's alien-overmind situation could have been rubs me a bit the wrong way. "... but that's so LAZY." Almost as if, with his tone, he's suggesting, "How could you have possibly thought THAT would be the case you iDiOt?" ' Caleb's reactions to Jacob's turn to speak comes off as a bit... patronizing? Condescending? At times.
I think youre sugar-coating it a bit. I dont like the introduction of Isha at all. It is clear that Isha is not a character but a plot device. Arcane season 1 was so good because even minor characters shine through their flaws and inner conflicts or at least have an actual personality. Isha is more of a result of the writers wanting to let us get attached to her and then giving us an emotional gut punch (even though her death was obvious from the start) and having them resolve the Vi-Caitlyn-Jinx fight without anyone of them dying and without letting it seem boring. I love Arcane but this is just meh writing.
i think giving isha a voice or something might have helped isha shine a bit more as a character. i'm not a writer. as she is i like isha, and i think she works to get the story where the writers wanted it to go, but her simple character and her relevance to jinx seems so on the nose compared to how well everything else works together in this show that she sticks out to me in an odd way. i don't dislike her, she's just a bit out of place. it's this and the fact that i wish the last episode had like 10 more minutes for better closure with its remaining characters that brings season 2 down to a 9/10 for me. every masterpiece has its flaws, and if these are the only two flaws i can think of for this show then that just goes to show how much of an amazing job they did with this story.
I see your point, I think Isha works fine for what her purpose in the story was, but yeah it definitely made me feel less than they wanted me to when she died. I think there are a few other characters in season 2 that simply do not work though.
Ishas whole purpose as a character is to be someone who doesnt have a voice, so Jinx cannot hallucinate her after her death lol. She is a Powder who doesnt fail
I get that Isha's introduction sequence is supposed to mirror that of Powder being chased by the gang in the first episode. I get that she is supposed to be a reminder to Jinx about her childhood innocence and put her in a position where she is the one protecting someone, like Vi did for her, in turn helping Jinx somewhat understand with what Vi went through and helping them bond. I get that her death mirrors Powder's explosion at the end of the third episode. I get that she was the only person that Jinx loved that didn't come back to haunt her because she was mute. Plus she is adorable and all but it still doesn't feel organic. She might as well have been an imaginary friend Jinx made up and it would make little difference.
Isha have functionally the same role as Sky Young in season 1. A plot device to facilitate character growth. And they actually improved on the 'design' so to speak. Writing of the Arcane season 2 is exactly the same as it was in season 1. There is just more plot to cram into 9 episodes, so they were very efficient with screen time.
Is now a good time to mention that Isha is never brought up again? She was a plot point to make Jinx happy and then to revert Jinx back to where she started. Isha was not only fridged, she also wasted time we could have had with more of the other characters. Again, Jayce and Caitlyn should have talked about how Jayce was going to make peace with Silco but Jinx killed Silco and have a completely different (and better) show. Also, speaking of under-used characters. Ekko and Heimerdinger should have had more time besides in episode 7.
22:56 I'm sorry, but I think Viktor's soliloquy about the essence of humanity was just so generic. I feel like I've heard the very same speech and trite message in about a hundred anime before.

That's exactly what Singed needed. He later took blood of Viktor mixed with blood of Warwick to revive his daughter.
