Got me an Asta Gear Yun Chuan 1. not used it yet but have already bought some clips to fix the inner corners, plus have seam sealed it to death and got a large ground sheet for it and bigger pegs. I have only to test it now, was your first vid showing one that got me to buy one and what a bagain they are. just wanna say how come sfter all this time your subscriber count has never grown, so odd. keep up the good work cos i am a big fan of yours, cheers 🙂
Thanks Mark, I think comparing it to the Xmid 2 does it a bit of an injustice. Yes sure you have to do a bit of work to it but for the benefits of once it modified it's value for the money. Having the poles at 130 sorts the sagging out and a couple of stitches on the inner and it's bang on. I will never understand RUclips, I've contacted them and at the moment and I'm doing everything they are ask but its getting me less views and subs. 🤷 so I have know answers for it. There are a lot of other channels out there in a similar situation. But saying that thank you for your kind words Mark they are very much appreciated 👍
What tent?... was this about a tent? Incredible photography man or should I say cinematography...Whatever you call it? Your good at it. I enjoyed your visual presentation. I would ditch the gear reviews and concentrate on your passion... I'm thinking creative arts. Anyhow, thanks for sharing, I love gear, and it is a cool tent... you keep doing your thing. 👴
A very valid point my friend! 😄 I'm lucky to be able to do all the things I love at the same time TBH. Thank you for your kind words and support they are much appreciated 👍
Hi Al. That looks a cracking looking tent mate. Haha peeling the glue of ya fingers, takes me back to my school days and PVA glue. 🤣 All the best mate. 😃⛰🥾🏕️
🤣 Yeh cheers Dave I'm not 100% sure it's for silnylon tbh will see when it rains 😬🤣 I've made a new thing that might be a game changer for trekking pole tents but doing some testing first, but I do like this tent 👍
A pair of disposable nitrile gloves can often be a handy addition when out and about, be it cycling, camping, hiking whatever. There'll often be a situation when the need to do something messy arises!
Sitting in my hotel in Korea catching up on my RUclips friends! Al, what camera gear are you using for the intros. I'm pretty impressed. The action cameras don't give you the depth so I'm assuming you are using a camera for this video, especially on the details of the mods you made. What are you using?
Korea? That must be awesome? Cameras are Sony zv e10 with à sigma 16mm 1.4 lense and a 10-18 2.8 for the wide shots. I've got a couple of full frame Sony's that I'm going to use through the winter for the one day camps to see if I can get any better footage. But zv is a brilliant little camera only thing that let's it down is the battery life. Just been out for a hike getting ready for the Penine Way next week, looking like it's going to be cold! Hope your having a good trip 👍
Thanks Kev, aye I think that's because it's compared to the Xmid it gets a lot of criticism. A few mods to it and it's a great tent for the money. The inner is solid it did 18 days on the CWT. The height of 130 stops the sagging and definitely reduced the condensation. (I had another tent out with me for a different vlog and it had quite a bit of condensation 😉) Sandie was in it lol I just had too much ventilation or she's just a heavy breather 🤣
@@greyhikes5236 I've got some rubber type caps for mine, I'm still trying to figure out a better solution though. Great tent, I love mine, I think I might buy the four season inner though.
The 4 season inner is quality. Can't fault it. Wait till I put the video out on my possible solution for the poles I'm just testing it to make sure it does what it says on the tin. Got some high winds due in a week or so. You can get cups and velcro ties to reverse the poles but I think from America.

@freeforester1717 the funny thing is when I put the sealant back in its packet a set of gloves were behind the card in the packaging 🤦

A little microfibre towel cut in an over sized circle works well for the gas cartridge.
We were using sponge cloths for a while but the rust actually went through them. Never thought about the microfiber though 👍
Nice looking tent that. Condensation forecast but no happening. Typical eh. Handy wee hooks them. Nice drone morning. 😎

How are you finding the spike on the hiking pole facing upwards, is it causing any issues at the top.
Ahh now after putting the hole in my Xmid I have came up with a solotion I think but that's for another video 😉 but yes it is a concern tbh

I had the walking caps on mine when it went through the xmid 😕
Guessing you meant that the sealant used is a little LESS viscous, or More FLUID;
More runny... I should have said that 🤣
