These old show is a funny way to see how things was before twitter.FB.Ins etc,and how "normal" and boring politics was. And Stephen Fry just come out when this air? This is reeeeealy old.
The gradual disappearance of the quiz element is to blame for its demise much more than is credited. There's almost nothing to hang the humour off now.
The vain and vacuous Annabelle is quite insufferable. Too used to just looking pretty and endlessly giggling to flirt with men. Possibly the dullest HIGNFY I've ever seen.
@@Auriflamme Lol. Such a putdown ... NOT. 1) You must equate an inviation to a popular UK comedy-news show as a significant "achievement"; 2) You presuppose that "big achievers" are well known and popular; 3) You insinuate that I have "achieved" little or less in my life than this airhead woman; 4) You conflate broadcast persona with real human character; 5) You are butthurt simply because someone dares to criticise someone else whom you happen to like. Laughing at you, moron.
@@thedolphin5428 Who uses a sick burn like that unironically? I've genuinely never seen people use that outside of cheesy 80s/90s american films. Well done for resurrecting a classic, NOT! Urrgh I just threw up in my mouth a bit.
An outstanding display of Paul Merton’s narcissism and inability to laugh at any other humour than his own. The show carried him then and is still doing so today.
Gosh! What do you say about Jack Dee then???? I don't hold much for Paul Merton personally - but have to be fair. Not laughing at other jokes is a big part of Paul's act, and if you were being objective you'd say that he doesn't laugh at his own jokes either, it is impossible to say that if he wasn't in HIGNFY, that he wouldn't have been in something else just as successful.
If you watched that HIG30YFY programme the other comedians say how quick he is, to link ideas up and riff. His stony faced look is just part of his downbeat character in the show, kind of disbelieving the low quality of it sort of thing
Angus Deayton really was masterful at this.
And that's why they destroyed him.
@@CEngelbrecht He destroyed himself.
Yeah he really was. He presented himself as a serious news reporter with hilarious banters
RIP Annabel Giles
I love these old one's 😂 Brilliant and still funny
Funny how you used to have to wait a whole week for a favourite tv show.
I like how this is being shown on a channel called UKTV Documentary. Their definition of 'documentary' is slightly different from mine.
Thanks for posting.
No wonder they destroyed Deayton. He was too damn good at satire.
He didn't write most of the material. He's absolutely brilliant at delivery but do remember most of what he says here written by someone else.

He was still the face of it and therefore the one to wreck to send a message.
Black Wednesday was 16th September 1992, 6 weeks before this
oh my, Danny Baker foreshadowing his Unpopularity.
The French for hedgehog is "hérisson" & the term for their babies which we call hoglets or pups is “choupisson” 🦔
COVID2020, 28 years ago almost to the day. History is Such Fun.
Don't worry, President Gates has a new pandemic coming for us soon so we can be locked down forever.
Thank you for uploading! Highlight of the weekend!
it's good to see Danny Baker hasn't been snorting the white stuff this episode.
Still miss angus

Ye-eesss.... It gives the date in the caption. These still stand up and are funny and clever.
I wonder whether Angus and Annabelle had something going on, he's quite generous to her during this.
After his history came out, I wonder😁
Well that was a foreshadow of an opening joke!
God this (Who ever she was!) Annabelle, certainly loved herself!!
Knowing the scandal that hit Angus some years later could explain his obsession with Frank Bough.
My 3rd birthday
RIP Annabelle
Well that sucks - she was so full of life on this episode and quite endearing I thought.
Annabelle Giles is stunningly beautiful.
un hérisson
The current series (67) is very poor compared to these older versions. The quiz element is virtually gone and the humour isn’t far behind.

Whatever happened to Annabelle? In a word, nothing.
What ever happened to George Soros?
Done

Not at all. He was and is astoundingly quick, imaginative and funny. No way is he being carried.
