My heart goes out to you, I lost my Mum when I was 28, she was 50. Photography for me came in to my life when I really needed it, I always liked taking photos but nothing serious but I was just getting more involved when I was going through some dark times and it helped so much. I just wish I had been doing it earlier, it may have stopped me doing other things that weren’t good for me.
Wishing you good luck and stay strong, as strong as you can anyway and remember there’s more to life than work, no matter how much you enjoy it

I really appreciate you. Your vulnerability in such a public forum is refreshing and humbling. Mental health has been a "dirty little secret" for so many for so long and it seems its finally getting proper attention. As an influencer you have a platform to speak from that so many will hear and be affected. It is quite the responsibility and so I applaud you.

About large format, try old lenses, you might find one that makes it worthwhile, like the 105mm does to the Pentax 67

Definitely try and do something fun for now. And try and appreciate every little moment while taking them. If there's one thing I learned is that taking photos gives you a break when there are things troubling you. They may not be the best photos but they do serve their purpose.

Enjoyed your video as always. Best wishes for your mum, I hope she is comfortable. On Monday 27 September 2021 my father died in my arms from Lung cancer which metastasised. I would be struggling to deal with that and all the associated admin if not for the support of my wife. I'm sure having Molly there is helping you too.

Sorry to hear about your mom's condition.
Doctor also discovered tumors in my mom's brain 2 months ago.
I am not a photographer / artist by any means.
But not being able to go out to different places and explore / discover / capture new scenes, though just a trivial minor issue amidst all the stress and pressure, just make the experience more unbearable.
But as you'd reminded us in the past, there're always things to be discovered in the familiar.
To be able to acknowledge this, and try to snap bits and pieces in the routine, enable me to at least take some breath.
I understand that photography and content creation mean much more than that for you.
And I am not trying to suggest that our worries and concerns are the same.
But I hope working on things that you still genuinely enjoy can still offer you some (ever so little) relief, because the perspective you help us discovered certainly help many of us get through rough times.
That means a lot to hear. I appreciate you sharing that, friend. ❤️🙏🏻

Honestly i kind of having a hard time geting why its even worth it to shoot large format/4x5, Ive seen a lot of videos about it, and I just dont see how its that different from like a 6x7 picture in the end, havent done it myself tho. Of course its a little bit about the experience too probably but by the look of the results it doesnt seem like its worth it!
