I woke this morning feeling buoyant because here was another vlog from Gen and this time it’s a full length vlog, I thought surely I’m not worthy?? I was soon brought back down to earth, as I watched the vlog, by a text from the course where I’m a member:
“Carry only today, 18a starting hole, 1st hole closed, practise green closed due to frost”
Then I watch Gen in glorious sunshine and summer clothing. Well I hope you’re happy Gen, kicking a man when he’s down. ☹️☹️☹️

Good round, really enjoyed the video. Greens definitely tricky. That course is on the short list for my trip to KL! One of the great intercity courses in the world.

An excellent commentary on the Old Course. I believe it's more than 7000 yards from the back tees, but what sets it apart is the playing strategy on every hole, which you have very well described. The short par-3 17th is a good example of the difference between pros and amateurs and the mental aspect of the game. I saw during a Malaysia Open almost all the pros hitting wedges close to the pin, most to within 10 feet. The amateurs on the other hand know that missing the green means a double bogey, which or course causes them to miss the green!

I really like all the trees along the fairways bet it echo's from the first tee shot , As always great video G ,also like second shot to the green its more consistent to make a better score , like your red stripe socks ,They were cool .🧦
Wow that is one really beautiful course. Looks very fun to play too, especially since i get the feeling it requires more strategic play than just bombing it away?! But there's definitely some tough holes with tight looks and trees hanging in a bit. Would definitely like to play it hahaha

Would love to definitely play it. But would love to be with someone who knows the course. If not, it would be difficult. It does seem to play on cow grass would be a challenge as I never play that type of grass. Does it grab the club more than the fairway in America?
From the rough most definitely! From the fairways you jsut don’t get run on them like you would in the US 😅
I didn't know you carried a 7 wood...... Now I'm going to get one in preference to a hybrid. 🙂

Hi Gen. I am a subscriber and following you now for a couple of years. You have made up my mind to come visit and play golf around KL and Penang. My wife and I will be there for the first two weeks of April. Do you have any recommendations? We would love to hear your suggestions!
Hey Shawn! Ah amazing. Tbh I’ve not played golf in penang in a long time but in KL you have many options. Go to penang for the food and KL for the golf! Not sure if you’ve ever been but here is some recommendations for someone who’s never been!

Why do you putt with your index finger down the shaft of your putter? 🤔 I’ve heard that you really don’t want to do that because your index finger can adversely influence your stroke.

Good game but you need more length to compete in LPGA some short par 5 your not even putting for birdie and some par 4 your hitting woods or long iron on approach. Still played a good round.

Are you planning on playing on the LET tour this year.
Hole 12, par 4 400 yards, why did you have 190 yards left after driver? It seems your driver had a good shot, and you club speed should produce at least 240 yards drive. Hole 12 you only got 210 yards on driver, that's not enough for LPGA distance
Do you mind to recomend coach for kids? My daughter is 6yrs old, she had few lesson but I'm looking for a better coach.
I was thinking the safest approach iron would be the one where thinning it covers the same distance as a good strike. What do you think of this idea? Maybe 9 iron or PW?
