absolutely beautiful. I've never seen him live/in person and can only envy those who have, especially the Wembly concerts. Heard Cars on the radio when I was 10 and was instantly mesmerized by it. I don't know why he wasn't played more in the US, I think he would have been just as successful here had his music been given the airplay. Love his old stuff, love his new stuff. He just keeps getting better...
I bought this album on a whim, not knowing what it was. When I heard the instrumental chorus of this tune, I had an epiphany. Honestly, it was the most sensational feeling I've ever had from a song.
Melding whatever you had to meld to get this version of this song, ended up producing one of the top 10 songs I've ever heard in my life. Congratulations.
Gary was great (as always!) when I saw him live in 1997 @ the Carefree Theatre in West Palm Beach, from the 3rd row center! I'd love to see him live again, especially at a small venue like the Carefree!!! Gary Numan is to the synth, what Brian May is to the guitar!!!!!!!
Amazing part of the song but the record is better because you can hear this beautiful piano part against the big synth melody. The piano seems to be washed out because I can barely hear it.
Please excuse my French - but that is fucking awesome... and it still sends the same "shivers down my spine" as it did when I first heard it as a 15 year old in 1980... :-)
Numan is the most underappreciated composers... the middle section is a symphonic surprise, done all on machines, more beautiful than anything Kraftwerk & Bowie combined... Telekon is his best of that period
OMG - I am totally OCD'ing on this song... Playing over and over and over and over and over and over (you get the picture!!) again... Absolutely love it!!
All those Moogs Gary used to use back in the day are so so warm sounding and squelchy and they just fill up a room! It's about time Hollywood or somewhere uses Gary Numan circa 1978 - 1980 music in a movie soundtrack at some point!
this is incredibly personal, he is an accomplished pilot. this is an anthem into one's demise... he's opening his soul on this one. Listen to _i dream of wires_ a strangely recurring theme among pilots' dreams. . Numan is a God, of electronica and of flying.
@ShamansMagic Yeah he did the US Pure concert in 2000-01. You lucky bastards in UK and US he's only played 3 Australian shows since 1979, all last year
It's from the "Hope Bleeds" DVD, and its picture quality is far superior to this. So then, do Google Play, eMusic and iTunes offer it as the "AirCRAFT Bureau"? Hm, that's not so good...
There's a beautiful piano passage in the last part of this song that gets lost in this version. Still, I think his live performances sound better these days than his earlier days, but his earlier songs were better written than what he currently writes. Just my 2 cents...lol
one of his finest moments, yes, but during the instrumental parts, when he's not singing, he strides around the stage like he's going somewhere, but he's not, and he occasionally flails his limbs like he's dancing, but he can't, grinning like an idiot.
Awesome like them all GN Lyrics - www.lyricsfreak.com/g/gary+numan/the+aircrash+bureau_20058470.html Hello, I'm the aircrash bureau I bet you're so surprised to see me I could specialize in rumors I'll send shivers up your spine Pilot, back, I need my squadron I was flying before d-day Now I'm warning you of falling I'll tell you when you're going down Sometimes I get these questions It reminds me of the skin game We used to stand around on corners Saying 'well here we are again' So now she motions closer Now that's what I call romance Someone's calling me but vaguely You need the feeling not the man

Yeh you own Gany! Nothing beats your music!
Great song off of Telekon, my favorite of the classic 3. Take note of the gorgeous synth flourish in the center of the song; pure Numan heaven ♡☆
Yes, sir/madam! ❤🙏
Analog synth, just beautiful, emotional music.
Please excuse my French - but that is fucking awesome... and it still sends the same "shivers down my spine" as it did when I first heard it as a 15 year old in 1980... :-)
John Williams I still had skin in 1980.
Gary Numans Silly Wig
Ouch.
Fabulous performance...thanks for uploading.
Numan! Numan! Numan! No greater feeling that hearing this song live at concert right near the front, there's only one word for that sound...Euphoric!

He Is the "man in a white car" from the Yes Drama album,. On account of the way he drove all over London
still sounds great
Awesome.
I agree with 'brcampbe', the instrumental chorus is incredible.
@ShamansMagic Yeah he did the US Pure concert in 2000-01.

I Do not think it gets better than this,,NoiseovShadow
The perfect love song ..?

Gary has mutured into one of the all time greats, surely equal or better than Elvis, Bolan, Queen, J Cash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
💌❣️💘

@brcampbe That's why this song is one of my faves ever in the whole world.
Sometimes I get these answers
It reminds me of the old games
We used to stand around on edges
Seeing here they go yonder
Excellent version , prefer it to the studio one

Hello, I'm the aircrash bureau
I bet you're so surprised to see me
I could specialize in rumors
I'll send shivers up your spine
Pilot, back, I need my squadron
I was flying before d-day
Now I'm warning you of falling
I'll tell you when you're going down
Sometimes I get these questions
It reminds me of the skin game
We used to stand around on corners
Saying 'well here we are again'
So now she motions closer
Now that's what I call romance
Someone's calling me but vaguely
You need the feeling not the man
