    I actually had no idea Otyugh had that deep of a community lore.
    I mean, technically they would be able to live in symbiosis with practically any sufficiently large settlement, because they don't really want to attack people and they value the things everyone else wants to get rid of.
    Since they eat garbage and can be reasoned with you could probably make a killing by mediating between city officials and these guys, you could set up a working relationship with a couple of them and then move from settlement to settlement and have them clean out their sewer systems on a rotating quota, the sewers get cleaned and the Otyugs never run out of food, it's a win-win.

    18:39. Huh, and I used to think Pathfinder didn’t have Beholders . . .
    In all seriousness, this is a well put-together video. I love that Paizo thought through the biology of a lot of these weird creatures and what find of physiologies or adaptations they’d need. But I have to wonder, how many of these can Pathfinder still use in the post-Remaster era.

    • @TheMythKeeper
      @TheMythKeeper  Месяц назад +2

      I'm not sure, but I think many will remain just with a superficial name change to differentiate them from their OGL counterparts

    • @JamesAdams-nd1td
      @JamesAdams-nd1td Месяц назад +1

      Sounds risky, but I’d be glad if that did happen. A bunch of these are are kind of bland in DND (the only ones that aren’t are the Beholders and the Rust Monsters, if only because in DnD you can domesticate them),and I like that Pathfinder gives them more personality.

    Fun video about imaginative creatures! Gibbering mouthers are horrifying, but my darkest nightmares are actually the ones where the spider with the face of my first crush chases me through my junior high screaming I need to get ready for football practice or Santa will die of dehydration. I'm not sure what it means, but I wake up thirsty and rationalizing it would probably pay for a psychiatrist's next vacation ;). More seriously - Bhole's are flat-out crazy and I have no clue how you fit one into a campaign or run an encounter with what is basically a biological battleship, but they're a fun idea in an apocalyptic grinding death sort of way.

    Unrelated question:
    I'm currently preparing to run the Kingmaker campaign.
    Now, my Players decided to create an all Kobold party, consisting of an old witch, an inventor, a plane touched (talosi) kineticist, and possibly a gunslinger (Player hasn't decided yet).
    Any ideas, how the people around them, especially the Aldori and the different companions, would act/behave towards a group of kobolds?
    Also, do you perhaps know, if there are any Kobold deities in Golarion? I couldn't find one specific to kobolds, and all I found was basically "Dragon gods, evil aligned gods, or actual dragons (as ancestors)", which could be problematic. The only good aligned Dragon deity they listed is lawful, which would clash with this definitely chaotic cluster of kobolds, and if they were to worship actual dragons, that could lead to conflict when they have to face draconic enemies.

    • @TheMythKeeper
      @TheMythKeeper  Месяц назад +2

      Great question. My read on this is that your players are signaling something to you as a GM when they choose an all-Kobold party. They're looking for light-hearted silliness. They're not looking for verisimilitude. So although I could guess about how the Aldori might react to an all-Kobold party in 'official canon' Pathfinder, if you want to call it that, that's much less important than what will be fun for your players. Here's a great article about the relationship players and GMs can have with each other when it comes to collectively developing a rewarding gaming experience that I always liked: lookrobot.co.uk/2013/06/23/stanislavski-vs-brecht-in-tabletop-roleplaying/
      If I were in your shoes, I might even decide that there is an unoffical sixth kingdom of Brevoy, that was a kobold kingdom, led by a famous Kobold duelist of the Aldori line. You have leeway to get a little silly with this premise. Make them the heirs to a lost legacy, that the human societies might not believe at first, but eventually embrace as they prove themselves heroes, etc, etc.
