Even the NBC announcers were touting Kyle doing the double, the difficulties of logistics, and they made a big deal about NASCAR. Bet they’ll not do that again. The France family is past their “use by” date, bled almost every dollar from the sanctioning body and teams, and worst of all they screwed up the rules In a lame attempt to generate excitement and interest. The stage system sucks, and so does the playoff system. Go back to letting racers race and get off some of the $8.1 billion dollars you “earned “ last year back to the teams, ya greedy animals!

I agree with your premise however, I think that it would carry so much more weight if that message came from Mr. H himself, instead! Is NASCAR that stupid that they would let their Star Team pull four of it's teams just because NASCAR is too prideful (see Stupid) to stick by their guns RE, The Indianapolis 500 vs. The World 600 and, as such, penalize #5 Hendrick Cars entry due to their totally Unprofessional pride being a little hurt. It's this sort off buffoonery that always reminds me why I left NASCAR right after Tony Stewart won his last Championship over "Cousin Carl." Playoffs, Stage Racing, $100 thousand fines for stupid crap (like Ricky Stenhouse vs, "The Real Heel" Crybaby Kyle Bush.)
If Kyle Larson, or any other driver for that natter, who's driving the "Double" were to win "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing" then, ALL BETS ARE OFF!!! NASCAR can live for one week without that driver achieving their dream of a life time.

With all this success in sportscars and Meyer Shank giving him an opportunity in indycar, and you bench him after just 5 regular season races, how do you expect him to learn the car and the series. I don’t follow NASCAR so I’m unfamiliar with the waiver process. How long does NASCAR have to make a decision on the waiver? What if they wait until just before the playoffs before deciding to deny the waiver so they ensure Larson competes in all the races leading up to the playoffs? if they deny the waiver now, they run the risk of Larson not competing the rest of the season, right? I can’t imagine he wouldn’t compete. If they deny the waiver he could 1) race with a chip on his shoulder, go out and dominate and make it painfully obvious that the 2024 champion would need an * next to their name or 2) as mentioned in another comment, Hendrick could put another driver in the car to get owner points and Larson could say “Peace out. I’m gonna race sprint cars the rest of the year.” Having said all that, I think NASCAR grants the waiver.

NASCAR would be stupid not to approve this waiver. Tony Stewart missed 3 races in 2014 for personal issues, not injury, illness, or even suspension - he still got a waiver. Larson, in 2015, missed Martinsville but was not required to receive a waiver at that time due to having qualified the car in the race. Nowadays, when a driver misses races for any reason, there's a consequence of giving up playoff points that could be earned. Kyle Larson should receive a waiver and going forward, the waiver system makes very little sense to me - just have a minimum requirement.

Think about it, no one's talking about Indycar or the last, widely praised, Indy 500. They're instead talking about NASCAR and a NASCAR driver and their NASCAR Playoff. In fact, that seems to be the bigger talking point rather than Indycar and their drivers and their season.
And this is the issue with the Robin Miller approach. It could easily turn on you, and cause whatever air you had in your balloon to go rushing elsewhere by allowing other drivers from other major competitors and their series to take seats away from your own series and drivers. You, again, end up promoting those drivers and leagues rather than your own.

I'll say this , chase Elliott and Kyle Bush got injured both got a waver. Elliott actually start the race he got suspended in 2023 coke 600, so really its 50/50 if he shouldn't or not , people gonna disagree but by the rules he shouldn't get a waver, larson did not start the race
Which means he shouldn't get it. I know Indy is a big race but u gotta put it in consideration before it rained they already knew 1 week before it started, so really its a decision , which will cause him big time.

This could become a giant mess made by NASCAR. No wonder Tony Stewart is leaving NASCAR for good.

Hendrick could have applied for the waver Monday. I think the delay was strategic in the sense that Larson was again a big topic of conversation this week. It helped galvanize the fan base. Now the hot potato is in NASCAR hand and they had best make the right call.

Some smarty pants PR team in NAscar thinks this is a cool strategy, make us fans wait...to create tension? I don't know. Are they telling us that Henrick, Penske, France have not discussed this? Nascar fans are not stupid. Be careful, the competition for fans is fragile. A risky game being played out in public at our expense.

Oh please my friend! Call it by its proper name: Mr. H has to pay extortion to the France family or they’ll tank their own championship for spite.

Don't think it's the France family. I think it has to do with Gibbs teams and Denny, Denny believes he's owed the championship trophy, he doesn't deserve to be a champ. Getting good all the time, FedEx wasn't supposed to be in Nascar at all, why are they, mark my words, last race for all the jewelry, Denny will be covered with all FedEx only. That's because of Mr Gibbs and Michael Jordan. They want to able to say that Denny is a champion to, once years ago before his knee operation, I'd say yes, since then, he thinks it's his and no one's else in his eyes, then retire as driver and drive from time to time in certain races. I wish Michael Jordan would buy him out and fix the name and be sole owner, don't need Denny at all. But not a user at all.

@@JR-kr1lv With respect , I don’t believe that the Coach has that much juice over NASCAR, even as a multi team owner. I mean, look at the Hendrick operation, it’s also very large and see what they are doing over the waiver. My quarrel is with the rules changes, the addition of stage racing and the playoffs. Artificial excitement just like the waiver nonsense. It wasn’t needed and I think it detracts from the sport. The other thing I was trying to bring out was the fact that NASCAR made $8.1 billion dollars last year and I believe that was after taxes. The France family got most of it. Now they want $30 million dollars for each charter. Why? NASCAR was very successful without this gouge of the sponsors, teams and fans. In fact if they had the brains God gave a gopher, they’d cancel the charter nonsense and then rebate some of their billions to the teams. Right. When swine become aviators!
